Chapter 147: Crazy Fans, All the Stars Surround the Moon

After the game, Chen Yan stayed in the tunnel for nearly twenty minutes.

There was no helping it—the Raptors fans were too enthusiastic. Honestly, even more enthusiastic than Suns fans back home.

Chen Yan understood, though. Phoenix had dozens of home games each year, plenty of chances for fans to see him in person. But for Toronto, an Eastern team, the Suns only came once a season. This was their one shot.

After signing autographs, Chen Yan took off his game shoes and handed them to a little boy in the stands.

"Chen, I'm your fan! I want to play like you in the future!"

The boy hugged the shoes and kissed them like treasure. His lips stood out so much that Chen Yan couldn't shake the feeling he looked familiar.

"What's your name?" Chen Yan asked with a smile.

"Wiggins! Andrew Wiggins!" the boy answered excitedly.

Chen Yan froze. Wiggins? Still in elementary school, right here in Toronto? Fate really was strange.

"Chen! Can I have your jersey?"

"Chen! Give me the undershirt!"

Fans started piling on with requests after seeing him give away his sneakers.

Chen Yan tried to keep up, until a sharp female voice rang out.

"Chen! Can I have your socks?"

He looked up and saw it was a blonde with an oversized chest, waving at him like it was a life-or-death plea.

"Socks? Really?" Chen Yan muttered, wrinkling his nose. "I just finished the game…"

"I like it!" she shouted back.

The persistence left him no choice. He reluctantly tossed her the socks, trying not to think about it.

Then another voice chimed in.

"Chen! Can I have the gum you chewed?"

That was enough. Chen Yan acted like he didn't hear, sprinted straight back to the locker room, and promised himself he'd never make eye contact with the stands again after giving away sneakers.

Inside, his teammates were already laughing.

"Hahaha! You got stripped by the fans?" Stoudemire grinned.

"Chen, why are you only in shorts? What happened to the rest of your gear?" Raja Bell said, shaking his head.

Chen Yan spread his arms helplessly. "If I hadn't run, I'd have lost the shorts too."

The locker room erupted with laughter. A win this big always made the atmosphere lighter, and Chen Yan's 63 points only added fuel to the fire.

Not long after, his corner was swarmed by reporters.

"Chen, you scored 63 in just three quarters. How'd you do it?"

"Just 21 points each quarter," Chen Yan answered with a casual grin.

The media chuckled before the next question came firing in.

"If you'd played the fourth quarter, do you think you could've broken Kobe's 81?"

"I don't like guessing about what-ifs. It's pointless. What I know is I scored 63 tonight. That's real."

"Chen, why did you grab the baseline photographer's camera and take pictures of Pierce's… backside?"

"Recording the beautiful moments of the game," Chen Yan deadpanned.

The room burst into laughter.

Meanwhile, reporters also hunted for Pierce, eager for a quote after his unforgettable night. But they came up empty. He wasn't in the locker room, wasn't in the tunnel. Pierce had disappeared again—just like the last time he got embarrassed.

Across the league, stars reacted.

In Cleveland, LeBron was stunned when told the numbers.

"Wait—63 in three quarters? You're kidding, right? This isn't April Fool's?" After hearing the confirmation, LeBron shook his head. "This guy's dangerous. If he keeps this up, he's gonna break every scoring record in the book."

At Staples Center, Kobe was asked the same.

"Chen dropped 63 in three quarters tonight, breaking your 62-in-three-quarters mark. Do you think his scoring ability has surpassed yours?"

Kobe's answer was sharp. "Let's talk again when he scores 81."

Two days later, the Lakers and Suns would meet in Phoenix for the Christmas Day game. Fans instantly read Kobe's words as a teaser—a warning that fireworks were coming.

On social media, praise poured in from legends and current stars alike.

Iverson: "That wasn't a basketball game. That was a one-man performance."

Magic Johnson: "People love stories about underdogs. But that doesn't apply to Chen Yan—he came into the league a genius, an absolute genius."

Dwyane Wade: "The Raptors are unlucky… but also lucky. If the game hadn't been decided by the third quarter, who knows how many more he would've scored."

Rookies chimed in too.

Nick Young: "63? Please. I do that all the time on NBA Live at home."

Horford: "I don't know about 81, but 75 if he'd played the fourth? No problem."

Mike Conley sighed: "I should've stayed another year in college. I'm not kidding. Being a rookie in the same class as him feels impossible."

The whole league had only one topic that night: Chen Yan.
