Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: Beat Pierce to Death!

Chapter 145: Beat Pierce to Death!

Because of Pierce's flagrant foul, possession stayed with the Suns.

On the ensuing play, Diaw came off a pick-and-roll and forced up a midrange jumper. It clanged hard off the glass. Pierce snagged the rebound.

But instead of pushing the ball himself, he quickly dished it away and drifted toward the corner. He wasn't scared of Chen Yan—he just felt… uncomfortable. His stomach churned as he glanced nervously toward the bench. Coach Sam Mitchell made no move to sub him out.

Pierce sighed. Just hold out until halftime. One minute and change left.

The next few possessions from both sides were bricks, and the second quarter wound down to its final 23 seconds.

Phoenix had the ball.

Chen Yan stood at the top of the arc, Anthony Parker squared in front of him. Every Chinese fan in the arena rose to their feet. They'd seen him hit a logo buzzer-beater in the first quarter. Could he do it again?

Chen Yan rocked the ball low, crossing over and dribbling between his legs to milk the clock. At the seven-second mark, he gave a violent shoulder feint and blew past Parker, straight to the rim.

Pierce rotated from the corner to cut him off.

What happened next would change the course of Pierce's career.

Chen Yan, full throttle, saw Pierce set up in the restricted area. Without hesitation, he launched.

"Beep!"

The whistle blew as Pierce set his feet—too late, body wobbling. But Pierce didn't collapse from contact. He froze, face twisted, then clutched his leg, rolling on the hardwood like he'd been shot.

Only it wasn't his leg that was the problem.

The collision had jarred something else loose.

The stench hit before the realization did. Chen Yan, jogging past, suddenly slowed, tilted his head, then circled behind Pierce. One glance told him the ugly truth.

The Raptors' all-white home jerseys made it impossible to hide. A big, unmistakable yellow stain bloomed on the back of Pierce's shorts.

Chen Yan's eyes widened. If this happened while he was backing me down earlier, I might've been traded for him on the spot.

Pierce kept clutching his calf, slapping the floor. "Wheelchair! Wheelchair!"

It wasn't about the pain. He was just praying nobody noticed the mess. A stretcher would've been risky—too easy to leak.

The Raptors players rushed over now, showing concern. Funny, they hadn't backed him up when he almost sparked a brawl earlier, but the moment he went down faking pain, everyone crowded around.

Fake teammates.

Chen Yan, meanwhile, couldn't resist. He flashed a grin at the baseline cameraman, snatched his rig, and snapped a series of close-ups of Pierce's backside.

The cameraman—Andrew Bernstein, one of the NBA's legendary photographers—had captured countless iconic shots in his career. But tonight, thanks to Chen Yan, he got something unforgettable in an entirely different way.

The broadcast director caught it too. The live feed zoomed straight in.

Pierce groaned on the floor while millions of viewers stared at his stained shorts.

Social media exploded.

"Holy shit—literally! Pierce just got dunked into diarrhea!"

"First Chen Yan broke his ankles, now he broke his bowels."

"Man said 'King of the Fourth'—but he's King of the Toilet."

"I thought 'getting the crap beat out of you' was just a phrase…"

"Pierce just became the first man in NBA history to record points, rebounds, assists… and stains."

The medical staff finally wheeled him out, a towel draped across his lap. He grimaced in fake agony, still trying to sell the injury. Fans weren't buying it.

Back in the locker room, Pierce bolted straight to the bathroom. Only after "fixing the problem" did he sit down and flip on the TV.

Instant regret.

On TNT, Barkley and Kenny Smith were clowning him mercilessly. The giant studio screen behind them? A blown-up freeze-frame of his stained shorts.

Barkley was nearly falling out of his chair. "I told y'all Chen Yan was dangerous—but I didn't know he was THAT dangerous!"

Pierce had planned to stage a dramatic comeback after halftime, the whole "wheelchair warrior" routine.

But thanks to Chen Yan, the script got flipped.
