On the Balconies
"No... I can't believe it," said an incredulous Asuma. "He managed to defeat a Magnet style user with such control," said the jonin, still unable to believe it, while he looked at Gai out of the corner of his eye 'This can't be' he thought, still amazed as he saw how Gai was trembling a little.
"YYYYYAAAAAAHHHHOOO!!!" until he was pulled out of his thoughts by a scream. "THAT IS MY YOUNG STUDENT, HIS FLAMES OF YOUTH BURN WITH THE SAME INTENSITY OF THE SUN ITSELF!!!" said Gai as he looked like he was about to start jumping for joy at his student's victory.
But while the jonin with large eyebrows, but quickly Kakashi opened his eyes, "Gai..." called the white haired man, without receiving a response from his self-proclaimed rival, "GAI!!," said the Hatake, attracting everyone's attention, including that of his friend. Who looked at Kakashi strangely, Gai saw how his rival had a slight frown. "This still-"
"Careful, Lee," Neji shouted to his teammate as he placed his hands on the metal railing.
With Lee
The shinobi from Team 9 looked at his partner, which confused him a little.
"HEHEHEHEHE HEHEHE", Lee stood still upon hearing laughter coming from behind him. The shinobi in spandex turned around to see his enemy in front of him, as a lot of sand fell from his head.
Gaara had a part of his face cracked, like the place where Lee's kicks had hit him.
"But how?" said Lee as he looked back to see Gaara's 'body' crumble into sand. He replaced himself with a sand clone, thought Rock Lee as he remembered that it was the same jutsu that the blonde from the Suna team used when she faced Sakura.
"HEHEHEHE," Gaara continued laughing until he looked at Lee with his Jade green eyes. "Now…" said Gaara as a lot of sand began to emerge around them. "The real fun begins," said Gaara with a smile as he licked his lips.
" Magnet Style: Hail," said Gaara as his sand began to rise over his head and his opponent's, while large balls of sand formed and fell, said balls breaking the ground when they hit the ground.
Then they headed towards where Lee was, who clumsily tried to dodge them, but some managed to reach him, and at that moment, the sand that had managed to hit Lee began to accumulate on his legs.
As Lee was about to move again, he felt the mass of sand grab him by his feet.
"AHAHAHA" was the scream that Lee made when he was lifted from the ground and then slammed into one of the walls, Gaara extended a hand forward causing a mass of sand to head towards where Lee was "AAAAHHHHH!!", the bowl-haired shinobi screamed when he received the blow from the front causing the wall to emit some screams, when the sand began to retreat.
And you could see how Lee was kneeling with both arms crossed, which had some stains of his blood. On the other hand, Lee was panting harder as he watched the few cracks in Gaara's armor begin to fill.
As the redhead from Suna watched Lee's blood fall to the ground, he just frowned.
"It's still not enough..." he said in a murmur, looking at his Konoha opponent with a slight laugh. "It's still not enough... Blood," Gaara said in a deeper voice.
To then send several masses of sand towards the Konoha shinobi, some managed to dodge them, causing some of those blows to hit the ground, causing it to break, while the other blows hit the members of Team 9.
Lee screamed as he felt each blow seem like it wanted to break his arms.
' Damn, this is too much, every hit is like being hit by lead bars, ' Lee thought as he dodged another blow while he saw the bandages on his arms begin to stain with blood.
' If this continues like this, I'm going to... ' thought Lee as he was sent back with a clouded vision. 'Maybe all my effort was for nothing,' thought Lee as he felt himself beginning to faint.
'All the effort is indeed useless... if you don't believe in yourself.' Lee opened his eyes, remembering those simple words, but at the same time, they reflected everything he believed, ' Be firm in your path, Ninja, and keep it no matter what... You will do that for me, Lee.
'YES SIR!!! ' Lee thought as he began to dodge the attacks Gaara was sending him, while smiling ' Thank you, Gai-sensei, and I'm sorry too ' Lee thought as he looked towards where his teacher was.
' I know I can't win this match, but at least I want everyone watching me to see that I can also be a Splendid Ninja, ' he said as his eyes returned to where his opponent was, who again launched several sand attacks at him, but Lee still kept smiling.
The spandex-clad shinobi disappeared again in a blur of speed and began dodging Gaara's attacks once again, which surprised everyone. Lee reappeared to dodge the Suna redhead's blows again.
' He's not as fast as before, ' thought Gaara as he sent more sand towards Lee, who was dodging it again, but with some difficulty, and still kept the same smile as at the beginning of the match.
On the Balconies
Gai, seeing the determined look of his student, just sighed, then continued watching the game. "So you're going to use it, huh, Lee?" Gai muttered and then had a small smile at the decision his student had made. "Finish it."
Kakashi opened his eyes upon hearing his friend's words and then focused his Sharingan on the match, causing him to gain a contemplative and surprised look at what he saw, then looking at his fellow Jonin in a green suit, "Gai, don't tell me you did it?" the masked Jonin man asked incredulously.
"Oh yes, Kakashi, I did it," said the jonin with big eyebrows, looking at his rival.
"Gai, I don't know what this boy means to you, Gai, but I remind you that this boy will not come out well if he makes a mistake with that technique, and you better than anyone should know it," said Kakashi, making everyone look at them.
"Kakashi," Gai said in a serious tone with his eyes closed. "That boy has something to prove and at the same time something to protect, so he's willing to do whatever it takes to prove himself. I know it's a selfish and reckless decision on both his and my part."
Gai opened his eyes and looked at his eternal rival. "But if it is my student's will to risk everything, I will respect it and stop him when I think he has gone too far," said Gai.
Kakashi, seeing how Gai didn't seem like he was going to back down from that, just sighed. "How many doors can he open?" asked Kakashi, while he watched how Lee managed to dodge other blows from Gaara.
"Five," Gai said, causing Kakashi to widen his eyes slightly and then sigh.
"I hope you're ready to face the consequences later," Kakashi said, earning a nod from the Team 9 jonin.
"Kakashi-sensei," the masked jonin man saw how his red-haired student stared at him. "What are those doors you're talking about?" Naruto asked, looking at his sensei, who simply continued watching the fight.
"There are gates within the body that limit the flow of chakra that passes through the body. These are the gates of Opening, Rest, Life, Pain, Closure, Joy, Shock, and the gate of Death," said Kakashi, making Naruto open his eyes.
"These are the eight inner gates… but the Hidden Lotus Technique creates pressure on the gates that allows them to open and release the flow of chakra, causing a person to increase 10 times, maybe even more," Kakashi said.
Naruto narrowed his eyes at his master's words.
"And what is the price of opening them?" asked the jinchuriki.
"The strength one gains is so much that a person without the necessary physical strength could break his own body with every blow he throws, and when he reaches the last door…" Kakashi looked at his fellow jonin for a moment. "It is death," declared the Hatake.
Returning to the Arena.
Lee just stepped back after being hit by another sand blast from Gaara, who was staring at him. "Looks like it's over, you're defeated," Gaara said as he watched Lee cover himself with both arms.
"You're right… It's over," said Lee as she slowly lowered her arms. "But not just for me," said Lee as chakra began to emanate around her body, which flowed violently and erratically, while her hair stood up.
"I won't be the only one who falls here," Rock Lee said as more and more chakra began to flow out of his body. " The Gate of Life: Open! " shouted the shinobi of Team 9 as his skin began to turn red and some veins appeared on his face. " AHAHAHAH The Gate of Pain: Open!! " Lee shouted again, causing his body to expel even more Chakra, then he flexed his legs and ran forward, breaking the ground where he was.
Gaara quickly felt himself being thrown into the air rapidly, while feeling a sharp pain in his face. Gaara saw how his sand was close to him to cover him. "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!" Gaara saw how Lee appeared in front of him,m\ only to send another blow that sent him to the ground.
Before he even hit the ground, Gaara was lifted again by another blow from Lee. "AAAHAHAHA," Lee shouted as she began to hit Gaara, sending him from one side to the other, keeping him in the air.
Gaara felt how, little by little, his armor began to crack. Lee jumped towards the ceiling and pushed himself while raising his fist. "One more and we'll finish," he said while holding his fist in front, which was trembling.
' No human can move like that, it's impossible to defend oneself,' thought Gaara as he placed both arms to try to cover himself from Lee's attack, but it was useless. Gaara quickly closed his eyes. " Magnet Style," whispered Gaara, while Lee slightly looked away.
' You see, Neji, I was saving it for you. Look what awaits you, ' Lee thought as he threw a punch at Gaara, which knocked the air out of his lungs, but the redhead from Suna was held by one of Lee's bandages.
"It's not over yet," said Lee as he forced himself to painfully hold his opponent with his bandages. " The Gate of Closure: Open." Lee hit Gaara with her fist and leg, digging them into his chest and stomach. "HIDDEN LOTUS!!! " Lee shouted, slamming Gaara into the ground, causing a giant smoke screen to appear.
Everyone present was shocked to see the curtain of dust that had been raised, but soon they saw Lee rolling out of the place. When he stopped, he had several open wounds on his body, and the ones he had before had worsened.
Lee looked towards the cloud of dust while panting from the tiredness of his body and enduring all the pain his body was in. He stood up a little, only to feel his body sting with pain, trying to catch his breath. Lee looked ahead with tiredness.
" Sand Dune *gasp* " were the faint words that Lee managed to hear, making him open his eyes in surprise. When the cloud of smoke cleared, Lee saw that Gaara was in the middle of a huge sand crater, the gourd that was on his back was shattered, and some pieces were scattered around the crater.
Gaara barely managed to look up, showing how pieces of his armor were falling from his face, and looked angrily at his opponent while, with a visible tremble, he raised his hand in Lee's direction.
"This… this is impossible," Lee said as he tried to get up, but as he fell, he barely managed to stabilize himself.
Gaara was panting as he glared at Lee with murderous intent.
" Die," said Gaara as he barely gathered a huge mass of sand. "Magnet Style: Desert Claws *gasp* " said Gaara, making the mass of sand take the shape of a sharp hand and launch itself at Rock Lee, who just watched as the sand approached.
" Dance of the Sun God: Solar Solstice." Everyone saw how a good part of the sand that made up Gaara's attack was solidified into crystal, and it fell to the ground, breaking. "I think that's enough."
Everyone saw how Naruto, with an unsheathed sword, was standing in front of Lee while Gai was a few steps behind him. Naruto looked at Gaara, who did not seem happy at all, while Hayate appeared in the middle of both jinchurikis.
Lee was trying to get up even though he was on the verge of fainting. "Lee…" the expander-wearing genin looked at the back of the Team 7 member. "You can rest now, you've already proven what you had to prove, and now no one will be able to deny it," said Gai, shaking his head a little and smiling at him.
"Damn, you are an amazing Ninja, Lee," were the words of the Hanyou, which made a few tears come out of the black-haired genin's eyes, while he felt his mind begin to go blank. "Thank you," Lee said with a smile, then collapsed, both from exhaustion and his injuries.
On the other hand, Gaara had an annoyed look towards the Uzumaki when he felt how he had taken his prey from his hands, but before he jumped towards where the Hanyou was, he was stopped by his jonin sensei, Baki.
"Calm down, Gaara, this is not the time," said Baki, staring at Gaara, who looked back at him, feeling his student's thirst for blood. Baki felt a drop of cold sweat run down his face. "TTSSSKKK Fine," Gaara said with reluctance and annoyance as he slowly began to get up with difficulty.
Naruto looked at Gaara and felt how his Biju began to heal him with his chakra ' It must be because of the seal that it is like that ' the Uzumaki thought as he felt how the Ichibi's chakra was inconsistent when it came to healing its host.
On the other hand, Baki could only sigh as he saw his student limping as he walked out of the arena, which made him sigh to accompany him; both Suna shinobi did a sand shushin to return to the balconies.
"Winner of the thirteenth match is Gaara of Suna *cough*" said Hayate, watching like Gai, how the doctors took Lee away, the expandex jonin had a simple look and then sighed and looked forward, trying to control his emotions.
Gai looked at his rival's student and approached, then bowed slightly. "Thank you for saving my student, Naruto-san!!" Gai said/shouted with a smile towards the Uzumaki, who repeated the greeting. "It's nothing, Gai-sensei, Lee is an incredible shinobi, I'm sure he'll become even stronger in the future," said Naruto, causing Gai to start shedding a waterfall of tears from his eyes.
"Thanks, Naruto-san, that's so youthful of you!!!" said Gai, making Naruto sweatdrop on his head. "Y-You're welcome," said the Hanyou. Watching as the doctors took the green expandex genin out of the arena,
"Now, for what many of you have been anxious for, the last match of the preliminary round will be a three-way battle," Hayate said as the names were already flashing until they stopped. "The competitors are Naruto Uzumaki, VS Mai Hittori, VS Amaya Hittori," said Hayate as Naruto stayed where he was, ready for this fight, but his eyes flickered towards Hayate, who had a grin on his face.
While upon seeing the name Hattori, many of the more senior Shinobi let out a small gasp of surprise, while others' eyes widened slightly. "Perfect," thought the two hooded genins. "Well, it seems that we get to finish off," started the leader, Amaya. "Our fight sooner than I expected to Senju," spoke Mai soon after as they jumped down from the railing.
"That's fine by me," replied Naruto with a slight glare, where the three stood opposite one another.
On the balconies
"Shit, it seems like your brat isn't going to have it easy. Facing two Hittori members of the Hittori Clan at once," said Asuma. "While that may be true, Naruto-kun is more than resourceful enough, so you shouldn't underestimate yourself," said Kurenai, surprising many.
"Eh, excuse me, but eh, who are the Hattori Clan?" asked the slightly nervous Sakura, looking at Naruto. "It seems like the academy needs to be fixed deeply," said Kakashi, while maybe older shinobi nodded.
"The Hattori Clan…" answered Kakashi, while watching Naruto down in the arena. "…Are a renowned Shinobi Clan, equal to the Uchiha and Senju, who reside in the Hidden Rain. The clan is well known for having many skilled Shinobi, although they're practically famous because of their Clan head, Hattori Hanzo, better known as Hanzo of the Salamander, the leader of Amegakure. A man whose fame and reputation are known and revered throughout the entire Shinobi world, to the point where the mere sight of him on the battlefield would make most Shinobi run in fear."
After hearing this, all of the eyes of the Genin, who were listening to the explanation, widened in surprise. But before any of them could comment on what Kakashi. Had told them. The former ANBU captain continued with his explanation.
"Hanzo is easily recognized as one of the strongest Shinobi of our time, even to this day, and is an icon to the whole Shinobi world, because of his great skills. It is said he could single-handedly wipe out an entire platoon of Shinobi with relative ease. But one of the things he is most famed for is for battling all three members of the Legendary Sannin when they were young and giving them their title as Sannin."
After hearing this, the Konoha Genin's eyes widened once again in surprise. Sakura then turned to her Sensei. "So does that mean that they defeated him?" asked Sakura, which made the older shinobi quiet. "No, on the contrary, the platoon they led was single-handedly wiped out, and they were the only ones that remained."
When the Konoha Genin heard this, every single one of their eyes widened in disbelief and gasped in shock at the idea of one man being strong enough to have defeated the three Legendary Sannin of Konoha by himself. "Just hope for Naruto's sake they aren't as strong as we think," said Kurenai, interrupting Kakashi. Who noticed that she seemed to be extremely worried about his student?
In the arena
As the Genin stared at one another, Mai and Amaya suddenly started to chuckle. "Care to share the joke with me?" asked Naruto, as he was curious as to why the rain Genins were laughing. "Oh, it's nothing, we were just laughing at how perfect this is," said Amaya.
"We get to show that the Hittori is the Strongest clan. Once I defeat you in front of everyone here," said Mai. "We get the privilege to defeat the Senju and Uzumaki clan's heir, just like our grandfather did," said Amaya, looking at Naruto. Both had determination. "Grandfather?" asked Naruto. "Don't tell me your grandfather is who I think he is," said Naruto, his stance stiff.
"Yes, it seems like you already figured it out. We are the granddaughters of Hanzo of the Salamander," Both Amaya and Mai said in Unison.
On the Balconies
"Shit! Hanzo Granddaughter!" Kakashi said in surprise. "When the hell did Hanzo even have a kid?" Asked Kakashi in shock, but thinking about it more logically, the Hidden Rain was the hardest to get someone to spy on or even get into due to how closely guarded it was.
"Damn it. Now it makes sense. Hanzo must have gotten the information about Naruto's lineage and must've sent them to kill him. Knowing we couldn't do anything should he had died in the exam. It also explains why his most trusted subordinate, Kandachi, is here as well, as the team's Jonin-sensei," Said Kakashi as the other Jonin looked at him. Anko Mikoto and Yugao were holding back their anger but glaring at them, and even Kurenai, though calm, could feel jealousy and anger.
Since it made sense, given how the Ame Genin targeted Naruto back at the forest of death, and how Hanzo was notorious for not tolerating any possible threats to his village.
"So Hanzō of the Salamander has sent his Granddaughters to deal with the Senju heir; this could be beneficial to us," thought Baki with a calculating look. Although that was soon replaced with a look of slight concern, given the look that his youngest pupil was giving the cloaked girl.
"Yes, mother, they may prove to be worthy prey as well," thought Gaara, with a crazed excitement at the thought of fighting Mai. Unlike the Konoha Genin, he had heard of Sanshōuo no Hanzō and was certain that his granddaughter would make an excellent opponent to fight. "Do not fail in your mission, Mai," thought the girl's Jonin-sensei Kandachi.
In the arena
As the three Genin stared at one another, Mai and Amaya decided to take off their cloaks. As soon as they did, many of the genins had blushes while Naruto remained calm, but his cheeks were slightly red. "Am I supposed to be impressed?" asked Naruto, looking at them, revealing what they looked like.
Mai was an attractive, tall young girl, 5'2" with honey-colored eyes and long brown hair, featuring long bangs that framed the sides of her face, tied up in a thick, long ponytail that flowed down to her lower back. But the thing that caught most people's attention, men especially, was the skimpy red sleeveless tunic that she wore, which barely covered her ample cleavage, which was easily a C-cup. Her outfit was held at her waist by a white silk sash, with mini-shorts underneath it. At her feet, she wore a pair of soft-soled tabi, while also wearing fingerless red tekkou that covered only the backs of her hands. She held a pair of white folding fans with metal sides, a sword on her back, and a chained sickle on her right leg.
While Amaya stood at 5'5ft long, with black hair tied in a high ponytail held by a metal ornamental hairpin with the shape of a pink flower jaw-length bangs framing her face, and brown eyes her outfit consisted of a sleeveless black tunic with red lines with a red sash, with long white gloves that had metal elbow pads, short black skirt, long white stockings with demon shaped knee pads, a purple strap across her shoulders that carries a massive sword and a chained sickle.
On the balconies
When the spectators saw both Mai and Amaya's outfits, their reactions varied; most of the males, like Lee, Choji, Omoi, and some others, blushed bright red. While others like Shikamaru, Sasuke, Gaara, Shino, and Neji remained emotionless and hid their reaction like Naruto, although others weren't as skilled. After seeing Mai's outfit, some male members, like Kiba and Kankuro, were launched into the wall behind them by their nosebleeds.
The female spectators' reaction was, of course, very much different. Hinata was indifferent, and Anko was the same way. On the other hand, girls like Samui, Temari, and Tenten were quite annoyed with Mai's choice of outfits and Naruto's attention. Some of the other girls, like Sakura and Karui, were infuriated by it. Although at the same time, the three of them wondered what the girl ate and drank to get breasts like hers.
"Well…um…it certainly…a unique outfit," commented the Sandaime with a slight blush. "What the hell is that bitch thinking, wearing something like that!" cried the outraged Sakura, even though Naruto didn't seem bothered. She was. "They are doing what many Kunoichi did long ago!" commented Asuma, causing Sakura to snap her neck back to him, crying, "What?"
"Well, you see, back in the day, especially when doing missions like infiltration, intelligence gathering, or assassination. Many Kunoichi would use seduction and their sexuality to distract or catch their enemies off guard before striking. She is just following in that path, since many young and some older male Shinobi could easily fall for such a ploy, where they could lose focus in a fight", answered Asuma. As he had to admit, if he had gone against someone like her when he did the Chunin exam, when he was Naruto's age, he would've easily lost focus or become distracted.
" Well, Naruto-kun isn't like most of the guys here, or am I wrong, Kakashi?" said Kurenai, surprising many. "Well, he's had to deal with Anko since they began dating, so I'm sure he wouldn't have much of a problem," said Kakashi, fully well he had done it with multiple females. "Well, we'll see soon enough," replied Asuma, although he wasn't too sure and wouldn't blame Naruto if he did.
In the arena
Naruto quickly focused on the matter at hand, where he went to draw his Katana and kunai, readying himself. As he knew the kind of game Mai was playing, the same one Anko had tried so many times to seduce him, he was eventually able to resist it. When Mai noticed Naruto wasn't affected, but only that he had a slight blush.
"What's wrong, Senju? Don't tell me you swing for the other team?" asked Mai innocently. "No, that can't be it. You were perfectly fine flirting with multiple girls," Amaya said, looking at Naruto. "Sorry to disappoint you two beautiful ladies, but unlike my teammate Sasuke, I don't swing that way. And to answer your other question, I had a great teacher on how to resist seduction," said Naruto with a smile. Only for everyone to look at Anko, who blushed and looked away whistling, though no one noticed Mikoto and Yugao's slight blush. Mai, not to be outdone, leaned in a bit. Amaya, who had been looking at him, smiled. "Oh, then we might have to test that resistance~" Amaya said with a seductive smirk.
"I don't know, aren't you two a little old to try and hit on me, or is it that you two are so unlikeable that no one wants to support you?" asked Naruto with a tilt of the head. At this remark, Mai growled in anger, which caused Naruto to smirk, knowing that he had gotten to her.
"'We're only fifteen," they both yelled in unison. "And for your information, I don't have a problem getting a boyfriend, it's just none are worth my time." Mai said, "That's what you say," said Amaya a bit sarcastically. "What do you want to get some as well?" asked Mai, looking at her cousin.
Naruto was, of course, slightly surprised that Mai was only fifteen, as he had thought for sure that she was eighteen, given how developed she was."Damn, what the hell do they feed the girls in that village?" thought Naruto. But quickly pushed aside such thoughts and took satisfaction in using Mai's mind games against her.
Soon enough, though, both calmed down, shifting their focus solely on Naruto; now they knew that Naruto wouldn't fall for any of their tricks. After a minute or two of staring at one another, Mai decided to get things kicked off by channeling her Chakra into her right-hand fan. After converting her Chakra into Wind, Mai then cried out "Wind Style: Strong Wind" and unleashed a powerful gust of Wind at Naruto who couldn't avoid the gust of Wind in time and was sent flying back into the wall behind him, where he was forced to raise his arms to protect his face and received several small cuts on his arms and body.
But before anything else happened, Naruto blocked a massive sword as Amaya appeared from the side, holding her sword. "Seems like you are better than expected. Senju," She said. "So, Senju, what did you think of that?" asked Mai, with a wicked smirk, as she saw Naruto lowering in arms and saw the cuts all around his body while he was tensed, holding against Amaya.
Who quickly jumped back, retreating as Mai channeled Wind Chakra into both her folding fans and swung at them at the same time, while crying out, "Wind Style: Double Strong Wind!" she called out. Naruto jumped into the air, not wanting to get hit by the more powerful version of Mai's Jutsu, which was a lucky thing. As soon as he jumped into the air, the Wind attack collided with the wall behind him, which became covered in several dozen large slashes, created by Mai's attack.
But Amaya took out the opportunity that he was in the air and started to throw kunai with exploding tags. "Wind style, Great breakthrough," said Naruto before blowing out a powerful wind that blocked out the kunai and the explosion. As Naruto grabbed his Kunai and connected with his sword, when he pulled it out, it had a chakra chain.
Naruto quickly swung the kunai in a circle, blocking some kunai that Amaya threw. He threw his kunai with a chain towards Mai, keeping her at a distance when Amaya appeared, swinging her sword in a circle, trying to cleave him, but Naruto jumped up, pulling his arm back, making his kunai go back as he used his leg to kick the kunai at Amaya, who jumped.
Naruto quickly landed as he ducked under a strike from the chained sickled Mai had in her leg, aiming at his head, but on her other hand, she had a fan, which she quickly smiled and unfolded. "Wind Style: Strong Wind," she shouted at point-blank range. Hitting Naruto, who turned into a tree log, "Substitution," said Mai as Naruto appeared from behind using chakra chains to immobilize Mai, but Amaya appeared using her sword to cut the chains while Naruto wiped a bead of sweat.
Naruto then quickly dodged the swings from Amaya as he threw some senbons towards Mai, who used her fans to stop them by lightly swinging them. Amaya quickly tried to push Naruto while Mai tried to attack from the back before another Naruto appeared, attacking her. "What the?" She said as the other Naruto blocked, swinging his sword, trying to eliminate her range advantage.
Acting quickly, Mai raised her right hand, fanned it up, and flipped a small switch on it, causing spikes to spring from the tips of the fan, which she then used to block Naruto's Katana, which he had swung at her.
Naruto's clone was, of course, surprised by this, but then quickly used his superior strength to push the girl back, while at the same time, slashing through the fan, making it useless to use Wind techniques with.
After being pushed back by Naruto, Mai quickly jumped backwards to gain some distance between the two of them, where she then began to do some hand seals with her one free hand, which, of course, stunned many people.
On the balconies
"Seals with just a single hand, I didn't think such a thing was possible!" spoke Kurenai in shock, where she was joined by others. "She can do them like Haku-chan!" asked a surprised Sakura and Hinata. "They are both extremely skilled; they seemed to be pushing Naruto," said Shino.
"Yes, that seems to be the case, but Naruto still has many aces under his sleeve, while they all seemed to be giving all they can to not reveal anything else," said Kakashi, looking at the battle with his eye, analysing everything. Where he then watched Mai spit out several large balls of Water from her mouth and fire them at Naruto, forcing him back a bit.
In the Arena
Wanting to help her cousin and finish this fight as soon as possible, Mai suddenly swung her fan and cried out, "Wind Style: Whirlwind." Unleashing a powerful blast of Wind from her fan, this lifted Naruto off his feet and into the air, and then formed into a large tornado.
As Naruto was being spun around in the tornado, small Wind blades started cutting him, making him into smoke. But this had an unexpected effect, allowing Naruto to escape from Amaya's sudden attack.
On the balconies
"Impossible! How can she create something that big and that powerful, with that small folding fan?" Temari spoke out loud in disbelief, as she had to admit that she couldn't do that with the small folding fan Mai was using.
"She's gifted, that's for certain," commented Baki with some surprise at Mai's Wind manipulation skill. "But then again, she is the Granddaughter of the Legendary Hanzo of the Salamander."
In the Arena
Naruto used the Jutsu that Mai used to escape from being cleaved in half by Amaya when she jumped up. Now that he was about to be in the middle, he decided to use another jutsu, "Great Wind Slash." As soon as he did this, a massive blade of Wind erupted from his Katana and slashed through the tornado, causing it to dissipate. Although the Wind attacks continue to fly toward Amaya.
Who barely had time to avoid it by jumping back. To everyone's shock, when Naruto's attack hit, there was now a massive cut on the floor.
Mai herself had still not completely gotten over it, since she had been certain that Naruto was finished."Impossible…What on earth was that technique he used, I've never seen anything like it before and he used it but as defensive and offensive." thought the girl, where she was only awakened from her shock when she heard two Naruto's cry "Wind Slash!"
Acting on pure instinct, Mai and Amaya quickly jumped opposite each other, narrowly avoiding the deadly Wind slash. Although the attack was not as big or as powerful as the previous one, the fact that it was able to make a shallow mark on the solid stone wall behind Mai and Amaya proved that it was still deadly.
"Shit, what kind of wind technique is he using? Grandfather was correct to be concerned about him. The fact that he can use a technique that is an A rank at his age proves that he could very well become a formidable threat one day. We need to kill him now and fast", thought Mai and Amaya as they picked themselves up. But as soon as they did, they took advantage of the clone to sneak attack him and destroyed the clone of Naruto, managing to put Naruto on a Defensive style with both changing attacks and even hitting him with combo's not allowing him to mold chakra.
For the next few minutes, the clash between the three genin showed great skill and even more deadly precision with each strike, and they seemed to learn something more about each other. With Mai being able to move back and gain a little distance between them, allowing her to take out some shurikens and throw them. After which, she then quickly channelled her Wind Chakra into her fan and used it to create a Wind Style: Strong Wind to enhance the speed, power, and ability of her Shuriken.
Seeing this, Naruto knew he had to act fast and dodged the kicks Amaya was throwing, keeping him in line, before using substitution, getting her away from the line of fire. At the same time, he quickly took out a kunai with an exploding note tied to it and threw it at the incoming Wind attack and projectile, where, right before his Kunai could be blown back at him. Naruto activated the exploding note, causing it to explode, where the explosion cancelled out the Wind attack and blew away the shuriken.
Luckily for Naruto, he had just been far enough away to avoid any serious harm from the explosion, although he was a little singed and was blown a bit back by the blast. Unfortunately, what Naruto was unaware of was that the attack just now was just another distraction to allow Mai and Amaya to prepare their real attack.
For as soon as the smoke of the blast died down, he saw Mai with her fan in her mouth and Amaya with a scroll in front of them, doing several hand seals (with both hands) at a speed that impressed everyone in the room. At the same time, Naruto also noticed that they were now surrounded by a large volume of Water, which he had guessed she had summoned from the scroll that was on the ground in front of them.
Seeing this, it wasn't hard for Naruto to guess what they were planning. Mai was planning some kind of high-level Water attack that required a large volume of Water. But before he could make any attempt to stop her, the young Ame Kunoichi finished her hand seal and thought, "Lightning Water Dragon Bullet!" They shouted in unison and created a massive Dragon made out of Water. Amaya put her hands on the Water, imbuing it with lightning, adding to its deadlyness.
Upon seeing the large Water Dragon coming at him, Naruto tried to move out of the way, but found he could not, as Mai was able to have her Water Dragon follow after him, while still in its form. 'Damn it, I don't want to reveal more of my tricks, but I guess I'll have to use moves," thought Naruto as he made a few seals. "Great wind slash," said Naruto.
The large blade of Wind then cut right through the Water Dragon, splitting it in two, causing the Water that made up the Water Dragon to fill up the arena with lightning, fizzling a bit. After which the Wind attack hit the wall, where, like before, it made a large slash mark on it. Fortunately, though, it didn't reach as high as the catwalk, since this time Naruto was not in mid-air.
On the Balconies
"To be able to use a cooperation jutsu of that level in here…!" commented Kurenai in surprise, for as much as she hated to admit, the girl had seriously impressed her. "This is getting out of hand, we never expected both Mai and Amaya to have this much trouble with him… the boy has been better trained than we thought", Kandachi thought with a frown.
"Tsk, I hate to admit it, but Hanzo did a hell of a job in training those two girls ", commented Kakashi, looking at his student, knowing fully well that Naruto wants to keep many skills secret. "Dammnit, I almost had him", thought both of them angrily, as they started to pant heavily.
For Mai, using Water Dragon Bullet, along with her other techniques, had taken a lot out of her and was nearing her limit, Chakra-wise. While Amaya had been using her chakra to erase her chakra for ambushes.
For his part, Naruto was already tired from his fight with Kiba, and fighting two high-level kunoichi is no easy feat. Hoping to finish the fight quickly, Naruto charged straight at them with his Katana, but both young Hattori Kunoichi were no slouch, for as soon as they saw Naruto coming at them.
Mai quickly took her fan out of her mouth and once again began to perform one-handed hand seals, inhaled deeply, and thought, "Wind style Great breakthrough." She then brought her free hand to her mouth and then exhaled a large stream of Wind. While Amaya smirked, thinking, "Fire Style: Dragon's Roar!" She then brought her free hand to her mouth and then exhaled a large stream of Fire and Wind Combined, which flew a Naruto at great speed, turning into blue flames.
On the Balconies
"*Whistle* Hanzo sure thought them good," said Kakashi. "Wind, Water, and who knows what else for Mai. While the girl, Amaya, Lightning, and Fire, complement each other and their fighting style to perfection," Analyzed Kakashi.
"The kind has it tough; they are skilled, and their Cooperation jutsu makes them dangerous," said Asuma. 'Narutos also shows to have great Wind Style practice and who knows what else,' thought Asuma, looking at the battle.
In the arena
Seeing the stream of fire coming at him, Naruto immediately jumped to the left. After narrowly avoiding the hot stream of fire that seemed to hit Naruto, only for him to disappear, he saw this. Both quickly deactivated the Jutsu as Naruto reappeared close to Mai's unguarded area.
Mai, of course, saw this and quickly brought her folded fan up to defend herself when she saw Naruto about to swing his Katana in an upward diagonal slash. But when Mai brought up her fan to block Naruto's slash, it passed through. "Shit genjutsu," thought Mai. As the real attack instead came from Naruto's other hand, revealing where he had his sword, he bypassed Mai's fan and slashed her across the chest with his Katana.
But that smile quickly disappeared when he saw Mai revert to Water, revealing that Mai had replaced herself with a Water clone. Seeing this, Naruto silently cursed and quickly spun around to see several Kunai flying towards him at high speeds. Bringing up his Katana, Naruto skillfully deflected the incoming projectiles with his Katana and then started looking for Mai and Amaya.
Before he quickly blocked two kicks from Amaya as he blocked quickly, forcing Naruto into a defensive position. That was until Naruto used his kunai to pierce through her, revealing her as a water clone just as both Hittori finished their seals, each on the opposite sides of Naruto. "Fire style Great fireball jutsu," both said at the same time before expelling two massive fireballs from both sides.
Naruto, noticing both the attacks heading towards him, made a simple seal as he seemed to vanish as the two fireballs collided. With the heat so strong, everyone struggled to see what was happening as the heat started to die down. Everyone looked, and they saw no one was in the place Naruto had been; only a hole was seen around the torched battlefield.
Mai wasn't surprised, as she had barely any time to jump, barely missing hands that came out of the ground quickly revealing Naruto as he quickly ducked and rolled back as he drew his sword and his trusted kunai before creating a chain. They quickly engaged in a duel while Naruto and Amaya were locked into a kenjutsu battle. Naruto used the chained kunai to block the chained sickle from Mai, as they all blocked the attacks while also attacking.
"Give it up, you two can't win", spoke Naruto, as he watched how all three of them were locked into a three-way battle. "Tsk! Like hell I will…you haven't won this fight yet, Senju!" cried out both girls. Before both of them jumped back, they looked at each other before nodding.
Naruto used the shadow clone jutsu to make another copy of himself as he attacked Mai. As they got closer. Naruto attempted a sword thrust at the Granddaughter of Hanzo, but she quickly avoided it and moved close so that Naruto couldn't use it.
She then delivered a sharp knee kick to Naruto's gut, causing the blonde to kneel over slightly. After which, Mai then grabbed hold of Naruto's sword arm and kicked his feet from under him and flipped over her, while at the same time causing Naruto to drop his Katana. After being flipped over by Mai, Naruto quickly recovered by doing a mid-air flip, allowing him to land on his feet, where he then fell into a fighting stance and prepared to fight Mai, who had spun around to face Naruto.
Amaya quickly destroyed the clone using the misty follower clone to surround the clone while she moved from behind and delivered a deadly strike. Before she appeared in front of Naruto with a knee strike, forcing Naruto to block, while Mai used this opportunity to appear in front of him, her fist aiming at his head.
But to both their shock, Naruto used his free hand to block as both Amaya and Mai jumped back and attacked. Only to rush using a bit of chakra to rush at him, circling while they attacked using their punches. Naruto sees that both his fists are blocking the punches. "Hmph! As you can see, Senju, we're not like the pitiful excuse of Kunoichi's that you have in your village…" said Mai, causing several indignant yells from Tenten and Sakura. "…we've been trained in some of the most gruelling training regimens you can imagine, not only are we skilled in Ninjutsu and Weapons, but we're equally skilled in Taijutsu and Genjutsu." Said Amaya.
Upon hearing this, Naruto's eyes narrowed, as he had to admit he had underestimated Mai. "I'll admit, Mai and Amaya, I've underestimated you two; you're indeed two of the strongest people I've ever fought, who were around my age." Said Naruto. After a minute or two of staring at one another, the three Genin charged at one another and began to fight in a fierce Taijutsu battle, where Mai and Amata teamed up, but neither gave much ground to the other.
After ducking under a powerful jump kick from Mai, Naruto attempted to punch Mai in the side, which was left exposed after she missed him. But before he could hit her, Mai blocked the punch with her right hand, in a feat of incredible acrobatics.
She used Naruto's outstretched hand like a pedestal to spin around and deliver a one-eighty spin kick right to Naruto's face, sending the young Senju skidding back several meters away.
Amaya then quickly chased after Naruto, attempting to hit Naruto with a straight forward punch, which Naruto easily ducked under, and delivered a sharp rising knee kick, right to Amaya's chin, sending her a few feet into the air.
Mai tried to assist Amaya by doing a spin kick towards Naruto, which caused Naruto to then fall backwards and use the ground to propel himself into the air and hit Mai in the gut with a drop kick. Sending the young Kunoichi flying into the air, several meters back, before crashing to the ground.
Naruto had to block and dodge as Amaya swung her sword quickly. Naruto, grabbing a seal, pulled out a bo staff. Spinning it around, he blocks a strike from Amaya while also blocking a kick from Mai. "Our grandfather made sure we could work together even under pressure," said Mai, looking at Naruto blocking both their strikes.
"You know, it seems just like you two are using this excuse to get close to me," said Naruto. "We want to kill you, not get close to you," said Amaya, growling. "Are you sure about that? Then if I stole a kiss, you wouldn't mind?" said Naruto, looking at them blush before they separated. "You wouldn't dare," said Amaya, a smirk almost teasing him, making Naruto grin.
As Naruto quickly runs forward, before he has to jump back due to a flying sword appearing in front of him, Amaya was on the handle as she does a double kick. Naruto quickly blocks as Mai appears during Amaya's jump to land three punches on Naruto's chest.
With Naruto aiming to throw a punch at Mai, Amaya appeared, doing a high jump kick that made Naruto stop his attack and change to block, but as soon as he did, Amaya disappeared. Landing behind Naruto as she changed attack to an elbow strike. Mai also moved in with an elbow strike as Naruto disappeared into a smoke cloud when they landed.
Soon after Naruto reappeared, doing a knee strike to Mai's side while a punch towards Amaya.
Mai quickly recovered from the knee strike that left her with no air. Amaya, on the other hand, despite the pain she was feeling in her face, spat out some blood that was in her mouth and flipped backward onto her feet. But as soon as she did, she was forced on the defensive by a powerful roundhouse kick from Naruto, to the left side of her head, which she barely managed to block with her left arm, due to the strength and speed of the kick.
"Damn it, you were holding back!" yelled an indignant Mai. "Of course, you think I'd reveal all of my aces while in the exams when I already fought someone else and have other powerful opponents," said Naruto, looking at both girls with a smile.
Amaya sighed, "It's not like we reveal all our tricks as well, baka," she said calmly, making Mai stick her tongue out. "Whatever you say, idiot," she said before getting ready for another confrontation. But they were surprised to see Naruto coming at them again, and when Mai tried to punch him with her right fist. He caught it and then hit several pressure points on her arm with the tips of his fingers, causing it to go numb. As he threw various senbons at key points at Amaya, who dodged but couldn't get closer due to a seal tag Naruto had placed that launched senbons towards her if she moved closer.
While Mai saw this, she then tried to use this to her advantage to punch him with her other fist, but Naruto avoided the fist and did the same thing to her other arm. With both her arms gone numb, Mai then attempted to kick Naruto, but before she could hit him. The Senju heir ducked underneath the kick and spun to her side, where he then did a leg swipe and kicked her remaining foot off the ground. Before ax kicking her and pinning her down, activating a seal that made her unable to move.
While Amaya used the misty follower jutsu to deactivate the trap, she was surprised when Naruto appeared behind her with an ax kick, ready only to roll out of the way just in time as the stadium floor crackled. But Naruto pulling out a sealing tag sent some chakra that threw a bunch of senbons towards Amaya as she dodged. Naruto appeared behind doing a chop to her neck, only to see how it passed through.
When Naruto quickly blocked a triple spinning high kick before she went to grab her sword when Naruto quickly tried to block her by appearing in front of her with his sword mid swing, but she quickly jumped over it before she grabbed her sword and swung it, clashing with Naruto's.
