The car slowed to a gentle halt, the hum of the engine fading into the sound of distant waves. Aryan tilted his head, his brows knitting in mild confusion as he glanced out the window. The sky was painted with hues of orange and purple, the sun dipping into the horizon where the endless sea stretched. The salty breeze slipped through the slightly opened window, carrying with it the familiar scent of the ocean.
"Beach? Is this where you're taking me on our first date?" Aryan asked, his brows lifting slightly as Evan stopped the car at the edge of the shore. "I thought you might take me to some fancy restaurant, you know… candlelight, music, the usual."
A small nervous smile tugged at Evan's lips. He tightened his grip on the steering wheel before turning toward Aryan. "Did it… disappoint you?" His voice was low, hesitant, almost as if he was afraid of hearing the answer.
