Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Kushina?

In the High Heaven Pavilion's training grounds, the sound of sword swings echoed rhythmically, a dance of steel under the midday sun.

Nie Yong trained with relentless focus, each slash of his blade sharper, faster, more refined than the last.

[Thunder Howling Sword Style has leveled up to level 69!]

[Dark Abyssal Sword Art has leveled up to level 34!]

'This Heavenly-grade Sword Talent is insane!' Nie Yong grinned inwardly, sweat glistening on his skin. My martial skills have never leveled up this fast...

As he began another set of fluid strikes, a voice rang out from behind him:

"Nie Yong!"

He paused, lowering his sword as he turned.

He Yue was rushing toward him—her dark eyes soft with emotion, her cheeks flushed. Without thinking, she threw herself into his arms, her face burying against his chest. The scent of her perfume, faintly floral, drifted up with the breeze.

Nie Yong blinked, surprised but not displeased.

"He Yue..." he murmured, lifting his arms to return the embrace.

She stiffened slightly—embarrassed at her own forwardness. After all, ever since that night, they hadn't interacted much. But her heart had only grown more certain since then. She wanted to show him her love.

Then she turned around in his arms, facing the woman behind her with an almost reverent tone.

"Master... this is Nie Yong."

Behind her stood a breathtaking woman with long, vivid crimson hair that flowed down like silk, framing a youthful yet mature face. Her eyes were strikingly blue, clear as sapphires.

She wore pristine white robes trimmed with red, her presence both graceful and commanding. Her curves were well-defined, yet her stance was that of a warrior—relaxed but coiled with potential.

Nie Yong's eyes widened.

Wait a second… that face... that hair... that figure…

His heart skipped a beat. She looked exactly like Kushina Uzumaki, his all-time favorite Milf back in his old world.

Shit.

He forced a smile, suppressing the wild thoughts running through his head.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," he said smoothly, straightening his back. "I'm Nie Yong, He Yue's husband."

"H-Husband?!" He Yue squeaked, her face turning beet red. She hadn't expected him to say that.

The red-haired woman raised a perfectly arched eyebrow, amused.

"Interesting..." she said softly, her voice like silk laced with steel.

Her eyes glowed briefly—an ominous red flare—before settling back to their usual ocean blue.

Nie Yong felt a chill run down his spine.

What the hell is with that eye…? Does she have the sharingan or something?

He Yue looked between the two with flushed cheeks, then turned to Nie Yong, her voice a little breathless from the hug and her excitement.

"T-This is my master, Yu Xuan Xia. She's from the great Yu Family." She paused, gathering herself before continuing, eyes shining with admiration. "I met her two days ago in the Black Wind Forest. A 6th-Order beast ambushed me—I thought I was done for—but she appeared out of nowhere and killed it with a single strike... it was incredible! After that, she took me in as her disciple."

Nie Yong raised an eyebrow. "The Yu Family?" he asked curiously. I've never heard of that name... and there's nothing about it in the memories of the old Nie Yong either.

Yu Xuan Xia sighed softly, folding her arms as if weary of unnecessary attention.

"The Yu Family is one of the Four Great Families of the Great Yan Dynasty," she said calmly, but there was weight in her voice—pride, history, and immense strength behind those words.

He Yue turned back to him, almost bouncing with pride. "Isn't my master amazing?"

Nie Yong smiled faintly, caught off guard by her enthusiasm. "Yeah... she really is something."

Then he tilted his head slightly. "But why did you bring her here?"

He Yue's eyes lit up again as she clutched his arm tighter, nestling close to his chest. "Because she agreed to take you with us to the Great Yan Dynasty!"

"What?" Nie Yong blinked, stunned.

"You see," He Yue continued, her voice softer now, "she wanted me to return with her to the Yu Family. But I didn't want to leave you behind, Nie Yong… so I told her that I wouldn't go unless you came with me. And… she agreed."

Nie Yong stared at her in silence, her earnest expression stirring something in his chest. She was holding nothing back, pressing herself gently against him like she couldn't bear to let him go.

Yu Xuan Xia took a step forward then, her eyes calmly appraising him.

"So, Nie Yong, what do you think?" she asked, her tone measured but not unkind. "I can sense the potential within you. You possess excellent talent. If you choose to come, the Yu Family can offer you vast cultivation resources, guidance, and protection. You'll grow faster there than you ever could here."

Nie Yong was tempted. How could he not be? A powerful clan, vast resources, and plenty talents to copy...

But he shook his head slowly.

There were things left undone here—important things. Meeting the Old Demon, taking the Ancestral Dragon Source, the Soul Warming Lotus…

He took a breath and bowed respectfully.

"I appreciate the offer, Miss Yu... truly. But I must decline."

He Yue's expression dropped instantly. "What? Why?"

Nie Yong sighed gently, brushing a thumb over her cheek. "Sorry, He Yue… but I still have a lot of things to do here."

Her lips pursed in frustration, eyes shimmering. "You bastard! Then I won't go either—!"

But as she tried to pull away from his embrace, his arms tightened around her, and he captured her lips in a firm kiss.

Her protests melted into surprise, her body trembling slightly from the sudden intimacy.

He broke the kiss and turned to Yu Xuan Xia, his expression steady.

"Miss Yu… please take care of He Yue."

"What? I already said I'm not going without you!" He Yue cried, her voice wavering.

Nie Yong cupped her face with both hands. "He Yue… please… stop being a kid."

She opened her mouth to argue again, but he silenced her with another kiss—this one softer, filled with warmth and promise.

He pulled back just enough to whisper against her lips, "Remember that I love you. And I only want the best for you."

Now she was completely red, her face burning. Being kissed this many times in front of her master was too much. She fidgeted, flustered. "O-Okay, okay! I'll go…"

Nie Yong smiled, leaning down to press a final kiss on her cheek before letting her go. "Good girl."

Yu Xuan Xia had been watching silently, an amused glimmer in her eyes. "Quite the romantic, aren't you?" she said, a faint smile playing on her lips. "You're gentle, confident, and talented… men like you are rare, young man."

She turned gracefully, her long red hair swaying behind her like a banner. "Let's go, Yue'er. We have a long journey ahead of us."

He Yue hesitated for a heartbeat, then stepped after her. Just before she caught up, she spun around one last time.

"Nie Yong… I love you!"

"I love you too, Yue'er," he replied without missing a beat.

Her steps faltered again. "Yue'er? Why are you suddenly calling me tha—"

He stole her words with another quick kiss, sealing his farewell.

It was Nie Yong's way of saying 'I'll see you again.'

To be continued...

How was this chapter? Was this better than the original fanfic's (In the original fanfic, it's chapter 11-12)?

I even changed Kushina from being the 6th Elder of the sect to come from a whole other dynasty, I think it's better in my opinion. It gives me the chance to build an original arc in the future.
