Chapter 2: Blood Ties
Aarav's breath hitched as he took a step back, his heart hammering against his ribs. The two girls stood perfectly still, their eerie crimson eyes locked onto him. Despite their beauty, there was something… unnatural about them.
"How do you know my name?" he asked, forcing his voice to stay steady.
The twin on the left chuckled—a low, musical sound that sent shivers down his spine. "We've always known."
Her sister stepped closer, tilting her head slightly. "This house… it's not just yours, Aarav. It's ours too."
His fingers tightened around the duffel bag strap. "That's impossible. My uncle left it to me. I have the documents."
"Your uncle only told you half the truth," the first twin murmured, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "This mansion holds secrets older than you can imagine."
Aarav swallowed hard. "Who are you?"
The second twin smiled, revealing a glimpse of sharp canines. "We are the daughters of the night. And whether you like it or not… you're part of this now."
Before he could respond, the front door creaked open on its own, revealing the darkened halls of the mansion. A sudden gust of wind pushed against his back, almost urging him inside.
The twins turned in unison and stepped through the doorway. "Come, Aarav," one of them whispered, her voice echoing in the night.
He hesitated only for a moment before following them inside.
As the door slammed shut behind him, he knew—he had just stepped into something far bigger than himself. And there was no turning back now.
To be continued…
