Adrian lightly brushed his fingers against the countless red threads crisscrossing the surface of the mirror. Even though he looked utterly devoid of strength, Ember couldn't help but worry that he might rip all those red threads off at any moment.
Frowning, Ember reached out and snatched the mirror straight from Adrian's hands.
To his surprise, Adrian made no move to stop him. He merely looked up and blinked at him.
Holding the mirror tightly, Ember felt an unfamiliar sense of unease for the first time. In the end, he simply turned his head away and said in a low voice, "I'll keep it. This mirror will stay in my room."
Night was when the bosses truly awakened. Tonight, he would find out exactly what this mirror would bring.
Adrian looked at Ember and couldn't help but laugh. "I get it. You're afraid I'll get eaten, aren't you? Thanks."
Ember merely frowned at Adrian. "I never said that."
