"Silvanus, fall back!"
Cocona shouted when she saw Silvanus, yet he confronted Drake head-on instead of retreating. Even though she was now terribly weakened, she was ready to throw herself forward—after all, she couldn't possibly allow Silvanus to die under Drake's blade!
But just then, Silas suddenly lunged forward, wrapping her tightly in his arms, the two of them tumbling to the ground.
"What the hell are you doing?" Cocona roared, her whole face twisted with ferocity. If her arms still existed, she probably wouldn't hesitate for even a second to rip out Drake's long hair.
"Silvanus can handle it." Silas's voice wasn't loud but steady, carrying an unshakable certainty.
Cocona looked at him suspiciously, but whether she believed it or not, it was already too late—Drake had already lunged at Silvanus. His massive blade only began to shrink in size, perhaps because he felt there was no need to waste strength on dealing with an insect like Silvanus.
