Chapter 15 - Strange girl

A few days ago, Quartz was cleaning the restaurant and was about to put away the ingredients when she heard a strange sound behind her. She turned around and saw a strange creature staring at her.

Startled, the creature also retreated, it seemed that this creature was also shy and cautious. It seemed that the smell of food had lured it here, without thinking much, Quartz threw a piece of bread towards the creature.

It used its nose to sniff, then slowly used its mouth to pick up the bread and devoured it. Now that it looked more clearly, the creature was a wolf, and it was also emitting black smoke, it must not be friendly, right?

The wolf devoured the bread and looked up at Quartz.

"What, do you want more?" - Quartz

The wolf's eyes were staring at her as if to say it wanted more, so Quartz threw another piece of bread. but when the wolf smelled it, it didn't eat it right away but turned its head away.

"Could it be that you dislike the food?"- Quartz

The wolf took the bread and brought it close to her, then nodded its head towards the kitchen as if to indicate that she was cooking something.

"Could it be that this wolf eats so luxuriously?"- Quartz thought

When the wolf kept pressing the bread on her, Quartz immediately stood up to prepare it, luckily there were still ingredients left to make a sandwich. After finishing, she gave it to the wolf, who didn't hesitate to take the bread from her hand and ate it deliciously.

Since then, the wolf attracted a few more wolves, then a pack of wolves, then a pack of night creatures came to her place to eat.

_______

Until now. There weren't many customers at night, so only Quartz and Fenech worked.

Quartz and Fenech continued to sell food to the dark creatures, they happily took the food and sat somewhere comfortable to enjoy it.

"Fenech, quickly prepare more vegetables"- Quartz

"Understood"- Fenech

"The food is ready!"- Quartz

Bringing out the food tray, the creatures took turns receiving their food quickly but not in a messy manner. After those creatures received the food, they ate very obediently, and were also smart enough to know how to use gems or other valuable things to exchange for food, while her food was not that valuable, it could be said to be very cheap and common.

It seemed that the monsters had no concept of money, so they exchanged anything valuable.

Quartz looked at the pile of things that the creatures exchanged, all of which were gems and other strange items, and upon inspection, she realized that these items were not normal at all. They were all very valuable items, some of which were extremely rare.

Without much hesitation, Quartz carefully put the items into her item bag.

"If I were to trade these, I'd probably get quite a bit. But the value of magical items, if I remember correctly, is quite high." Quartz muttered.

"Master Quartz, if you're wondering about the price of these items, I know." Fenech

"You know?" Quartz

"Actually, I know a little. Although the rabbit tribe doesn't directly interact with two-legged people other than the master, we've heard about them from so-called merchants." Fenech

"Merchants, are they people who travel here and there to trade?" Quartz

"I don't really understand, but those people... really have very improper thoughts." Fenech

"Ah, well, being a merchant isn't easy. They have to think of ways to earn more money." Quartz

"But no matter how I look at it, I feel like those people aren't very trustworthy." Fenech

'It's really unreliable'- Quartz thought

Noticing that the steamed buns were almost gone, Quartz went inside to get more buns.

The steamers were quite layered so her vision was blocked, Quartz carefully walked towards the house. Just as her feet lifted up to step on the stairs, she lost her footing and fell forward.

She fell down and let go of the steamers, Quartz quickly put one knee down and the other foot on the floor. Thinking that the steamers had fallen to the floor, she unexpectedly looked up and saw that they were stacked very straight.

"What is that?"- Quartz

Feeling strange, she heard some strange sound coming from the direction of the storage room.

Inside the storage room, the girl was panting and trying to stay quiet but because the room was too dark, she couldn't use magic to create even a small fire to light it up.

The door suddenly opened outwards, causing the girl to lean out and fall to the ground, startling Quartz. Noticing that it was the injured girl, he quickly knelt down.

"When did you wake up? Are you okay?"- Quartz

"It hurts... please help me up..."- The girl groaned

Without asking any further questions, Quartz immediately put her arms around the girl's neck and helped her up to the couch before helping her lie down.

"Phew....thank you"

"Alright, you just woke up, don't do any strenuous exercise, it takes time, it's not good for your health"- Quartz

The girl's eyes looked at Quartz who was getting water from a glass bottle into a glass cup and then giving it to the girl. The girl took it and drank the whole cup in one gulp.

"Where is this place anyway?"- The girl asked

"This is our sister's house, you suddenly fainted so I brought you inside to treat you"- Quartz

The girl kept touching her body to check herself and then gently breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'm really sorry for scaring you. To thank you for saving me, I'll repay you"- The girl said

Then she raised her hand to take off her outer robe, but Quartz quickly stopped her.

"Woah woah, there's no need to repay with your body. Please, helping is something everyone should do, there's no need to repay like this!"- Quartz blushed

My sister and I are both modern people, we've seen a lot of old movies where when someone is taken care of, they have to repay the person who saved them with something.

"You should go take a bath now, if you get dirty it won't be good"- Quartz

When she was about to stand up, her arm was grabbed by the girl.

"I still don't know your name, may I know?"- Girl

"My name is Quartz, what about you?"- Quartz

"My name...my name is Artie"- Artie

Quartz quickly ran into the bathroom to prepare hot water and also took a nightgown to change into while the girl's clothes were taken to be washed.

Quartz looked at the clothes that Artie was wearing, which had a large tear, covered in dirt, just a quick glance could tell that this outfit was quite special so he had to be careful otherwise he wouldn't be able to compensate.

Luckily, the washing machine and dryer had been upgraded, dirty clothes that were difficult to wash or torn clothes could only be solved by washing and drying, the result was a brand new and fragrant outfit.

Admittedly, looking at Artie's face and figure, he was quite strong, Artie's height was only a little shorter than hers because she was 1m65 tall, so Artie was probably around 1m60 tall.

Hearing the sound of water in the bathroom, Quartz knocked lightly on the door.

"Is the water warm enough?"- Quartz

"Very moderate, thank you"- Artie

"That's great, if there's anything, call me"- Quartz

Because the bathroom was a rather closed space, Artie's echo sounded strange, Quartz didn't pay much attention and continued her work.

What she didn't know was that the hot steam rising from the bathroom obscured the figure sitting in the bathtub enjoying the pleasant feeling.

The figure that should have been a girl had a flat bare chest, and wet white hair stuck to her body, making her look attractive. Just now, when he heard the girl outside asking questions, this person had to raise his voice to sound like a woman's so as not to be discovered.

"What a girl who worries too much"
