Chapter 326 - Billion-dollar deal

AN: Here you go another one.

[Titan Lounge]

Dick Cook had waited long enough for the coffee on the side table to go cold, though he never complained once. Disney had sent him back with a number large enough to bruise the air, and men carrying that kind of message learned patience early.

Rachel sat near Alex with her tablet in hand, freshly composed and unreadable, while Alex leaned back in the chair opposite Dick like the delay had been nothing more than a long phone call.

Dick placed the revised proposal on the table and slid it toward him. "Disney is ready to sell the Channel division and everything attached to Disney television under the terms we discussed, including the major youth franchises, the active programming library, selected music rights, merchandising structures, international syndication packages, and future development control."

Alex picked up the file and opened it with relaxed interest. "That's a very generous opening, Dick, which usually means the expensive part is hiding somewhere on page three."

Dick allowed a small smile, then folded his hands over one knee. "Considering the present market, the future value of the content, and the scale of what Disney would be giving up, the original six billion dollar offer isn't enough. Bob and the board reviewed the proposal carefully, and Disney will sell the full package for twelve point five billion dollars."

Rachel's eyes lifted from her tablet, and the lounge seemed to lose a few degrees of warmth. Alex kept reading for several seconds, turning one page slowly, then another, giving Dick just enough silence to feel the weight of the number sitting between them.

Alex closed the proposal and set it on the table with care. "I was generous enough to offer six billion on a Channel library your own people valued closer to four. I gave Disney an extra two billion because I wanted the deal clean, fast, and friendly."

Dick held his expression steady. "The board believes the library's future value justifies the number."

Alex smiled faintly and glanced toward Rachel. "That's one way to say you lot got greedy."

Dick sat straighter, choosing his words carefully. "It's still a fair deal, Mr Wilson. Disney Channel is one of the strongest youth entertainment pipelines in the world, and that package gives Titan immediate control over music-driven franchises, teen television, family branding, animation extensions, consumer products, live events, touring potential, and international programming. You're paying for what it is today and what it becomes once Titan gets its hands on it."

Alex looked at him for a moment, then leaned forward and rested his elbows near the file. "You're making my argument better than your own. Under Titan, that library becomes more valuable because I know what to do with it."

Dick nodded once. "That's exactly why Disney can't sell it cheap."

Alex's smile sharpened slightly as he looked down at the proposal again. "Yeah... well, I did tell you the cheque was blank, and all you had to do was put a number."

Rachel's fingers stopped moving on the tablet. Dick noticed, because anyone with survival instincts noticed Rachel when she became still.

"And what value does a man have if not his word?" Alex extended his hand across the table. "Let's make the fourth biggest deal in the history of Hollywood."

Dick looked at the hand for half a second, then shook it firmly. "Disney will be ready to finalize tonight."

Alex held the handshake a moment longer than necessary, his smile calm enough to look pleasant from across the room. "Good, and tell Bob I said I'll remember this deal."

Dick's expression did not change much, though his eyes narrowed by a fraction. "I'll make sure he receives the message."

Alex released his hand and leaned back, still smiling. "I'm sure you will, Dick."

The words were polite, though the meaning behind them filled the lounge more clearly than anger ever could. Disney had raised the price because they thought Alex could afford it, and Alex had accepted because he could. Well, in the coming years, Disney will see the result of their greed, and it won't be fun.

Rachel tapped the screen once and sent the revised terms to Titan's legal team. "Our attorneys will clear the acquisition structure within the hour. Disney will receive proof of funds before dinner, escrow confirmation before midnight, and final wire instructions once both boards sign the closing documents."

Dick gathered his folder and stood, looking between them with the careful respect of a man who had just sold part of an empire to someone building a larger one. "I'll inform Bob that Titan has accepted the revised terms."

Alex rose with him and buttoned his blazer. "Tell him Titan's new Youth Entertainment will take good care of what Disney built."

Dick gave a measured nod, though something in Alex's tone made that promise sound less comforting than it should have. "I believe everyone in Burbank will be watching closely."

Alex walked him toward the door with Rachel beside him. "They should, because the next few years are going to be very educational."

That night, one of the biggest deals in Hollywood history was signed behind closed doors.

By midnight, Titan Studios had acquired Disney Channel, the connected television library, the major youth franchises, music and merchandising structures, international syndication assets, and the development pipeline tied to Disney's television empire. The final price landed at twelve point five billion dollars, a number so large that even seasoned entertainment lawyers paused before typing it into the closing documents.

Disney framed the sale as a strategic restructuring during a difficult economic period. The official language spoke of sharpening priorities, strengthening animation, improving operational flexibility, and positioning the company for long-term growth.

Titan's statement was shorter.

Titan Studios confirmed the acquisition of Disney Channel and its related television assets tonight. The library will join Titan Youth Entertainment, where existing franchises will continue under expanded creative, music, publishing, merchandising, and international development plans.

Alex signed the final page in his private conference room with Rachel standing behind his chair and Titan's legal team watching in silence. Bob Iger sat beside Dick Cook and several Disney attorneys, all of them wearing the careful expressions of people who knew they had solved one problem by creating another.

When the final signatures were complete, Bob offered a professional smile. "Congratulations, Mr Wilson. You've purchased a powerful piece of Disney history."

Alex capped his pen and looked directly at him. "I know, Bob. I hope Disney will create something unique in the future to fill the gap."

Rachel lowered her eyes to hide the smallest smile as team Disney left after checking the legal documents multiple times to make sure everything was alright.

Alex leaned back in his chair and looked at the signed agreement resting in front of him. Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life, Kim Possible, Phineas and Ferb, That's So Raven, and an entire generation of youth television now belonged to Titan.

Rachel placed one hand on his shoulder. "You just bought Disney's teenage bloodstream."

Alex looked up at her with a faint grin. "And they charged me extra for the blood type."

Rachel's smile turned colder. "Should we proceed with your plan?"

Alex looked back at the contract, his expression calm and thoughtful. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. Then nodded. "Yeah, begin project Titan World." He stood up from his chair and walked toward the glass wall. He looked down at the night street below him. "I'm gonna destroy Disneyland for starters..."

[Three Days Later] [Titan Studios] [Public Announcement]

By noon, Titan Studios looked like the center of the entertainment world again.

Reporters packed the press hall wall to wall, shoulder to shoulder, camera to camera. News crews filled the back rows with tripods and cables while photographers crowded the front barricade, every lens pointed toward the stage where the Titan logo glowed across a massive screen. The air buzzed with speculation before Alex even appeared.

Three days had passed since Titan acquired Disney Channel and its connected television assets for twelve point five billion dollars, and Hollywood still hadn't stopped arguing about it.

Some called it genius. A few called it madness. The rest called it a slow takeover dressed up as a business strategy. Most people understood only one thing clearly.

Alex Wilson had just taken Disney's youth empire and placed it under Titan's roof.

A large banner stretched across the back of the stage.

TITAN YOUTH ENTERTAINMENT: THE NEXT GENERATION BEGINS
