Everyone started working as soon as the idea was proposed.
Rowan quickly finalized a simple design with his assistant Rei, then called over the researchers and apprentices to release their Pokémon and begin assembling the device.
About half an hour later, the basic Pokémon transfer device was complete.
Rowan and Rei stood on each side and pressed the switches at the same time. A current surged from both ends toward the center, and the evolutionary magnetic field began to envelop the entire machine.
Following Shiro's suggestion, they placed a Torterra on one side and an Infernape on the other. Both were fully evolved Pokémon, only at Advanced-level. In theory, the evolution field should have no effect on them.
Bzzt!
The machine began running at high speed, and a blinding white light suddenly flared from both sides. Rowan and the others instinctively stepped back and raised their hands to shield their eyes, but Shiro remained still, staring straight at the device without blinking.
Inside, the two Poké Balls had indeed switched positions.
A faint smile appeared on his lips as he stepped forward and opened the glass covers on both sides. The white light gradually faded, and the researchers gathered around to observe.
"So? Dr. Corviknight, did the experiment succeed?"
"What phenomenon were you expecting exactly?"
"Could it be… reverse evolution?"
Shiro raised a hand to stop their chatter, then picked up the Poké Ball from the side that originally held Torterra.
"Guess what Pokémon this is," he said.
"Turtwig?" Rowan tugged at his beard, unsure.
The others followed with their own guesses, mostly Turtwig or Grotle.
Only Rei and Dale stayed silent. Rei seemed to have an idea but had not fully figured it out, while Dale simply did not know and waited for the answer.
"Heh."
Listening to their guesses, Shiro shook his head and tossed the Poké Ball onto the open space beside them.
A flash of red light appeared, and a red-furred Infernape with blue limbs landed on the ground, looking confused as it glanced around, clearly not understanding how it had suddenly appeared after going through the device.
"Infernape!" Rowan's voice rose sharply in shock as he rushed over to examine it.
The researchers quickly gathered around too.
"It really is Infernape!"
"No way, how is this possible?"
"This is supposed to be an evolutionary magnetic field device…"
"Could Dr. Corviknight also be researching communication systems?"
"Wait, the one on the other side is really Torterra!"
A few quick-witted researchers ran to the other side and released Torterra as well, completely confirming the function of this simple Pokémon transfer device.
"That's right. This device allows trainers to remotely exchange Pokémon."
As he spoke, Shiro added a few more ideas.
"Long-distance exchange is one use. It might also allow one-way transfers. And if someone doesn't want their Pokémon to evolve during the process, then we'll need to study how to combine it with the properties of an Everstone."
"You can separate the part used for evolution. The transfer device should remove the evolution effect and keep only the transfer function."
Professor Rowan and the other Pokémon researchers immediately took out their notebooks and wrote everything down. Their hands moved quickly, and some even began testing and experimenting on the spot.
"Shiro!" Rowan waved his hands excitedly. "I bet this will become one of the greatest Pokémon inventions ever!"
"Not that much, not that much…" Shiro felt a bit embarrassed and waved his hands. "I'm just putting forward some ideas. They're all related to the evolutionary magnetic field and Pokémon evolution studies. This transfer function was just discovered by chance."
In truth, he was a bit confused. 'Could it be that this world hasn't researched this yet?'
Logically, the one-way Pokémon transfer system in Kanto, the storage system, should already exist.
He remembered that around this time, a Kanto researcher named Bill had already developed it. In the special version, he even accidentally fused himself with a Pokémon.
Wait.
What time period is this?
Does this world even have Red?
If characters like Red, Green, Blue, or Gold and Silver do not exist…
Shiro's thoughts became messy, and he suddenly felt a bit lost.
'Maybe it's still early. Red hasn't started his journey yet?'
He had forgotten. He should have asked Professor Oak earlier.
"Dr. Corviknight, Dr. Corviknight?"
Dale called out twice. Shiro came back to his senses and asked, "What is it?"
"There's a problem here…" Dale spread out the draft of the Pokémon storage device he had just drawn.
"Maybe…" Shiro gave a cautious suggestion.
The lab quickly returned to a tense and exciting state of research and experimentation.
"If we can produce another result besides the evolutionary magnetic field, like a transfer device," Rowan said with great excitement, "then we can wash away the institute's past disgrace!"
"And when that happens, your title might have a better chance too," he added.
Shiro did not think much about it. He simply smiled, offered a few encouraging words, and left the lab.
As for becoming a professor, his main ideas were two paths, Macro Cosmos and Professor Oak. Compared to someone he was not very familiar with, the company was the better choice.
Shiro had already reached cooperation with them. Their promotion plan would likely include the research conference, helping him become a Pokémon Professor. He just did not know how they planned to do it.

A week later.
As the research conference drew closer, academic papers flooded the website of Oak's lab as if they were free. Researchers and professors pushed themselves hard, hoping to stand out at the conference. Even minor results were tested and published.
Then one day, an important research result from Professor Elm shook the already tense academic world.
On the website, researchers from all sides nearly went crazy.
"Egg Group theory! Another theory that will have a long-term impact on Pokémon studies!"
"Professor Elm is terrifying. This time's Academic Summit is full of geniuses."
"Mom, when will I get to present my research at the summit…?"
"Maybe in your next life."
"Pokémon breeding and Egg Group theory?"
In a corner of the lab, Rowan stared at the paper on the screen and fell into deep thought.
"Egg Group theory?" Carolina thought for a moment behind him. "Dividing Pokémon into different groups will indeed help a lot in breeding…"
"It might also offend some people," Rowan said with some hesitation.
"Who cares," Carolina replied dismissively.
"It has nothing to do with battling anyway. When it comes to breeding, only those famous daycare owners who don't want to share their accumulated experience will complain."
