"Slap!"
"Useless!"
Under the lead of the guards, Revive Revival and his group arrived at the room Kati had arranged for them. Revive Revival unceremoniously slapped Arba Lindt across the face, sending him tumbling to the ground. If he hadn't held back slightly, given an Innovator's physical constitution, several teeth would have been knocked out.
The other Innovators also looked at Arba Lindt on the ground with disdain, like gods sitting high in the clouds looking down on a lowly ant.
"My... My lords... this... this is all that damn woman's fault! She was too arrogant! She completely ignored the A-Laws established by you lords! She showed such contempt for your majesty; there must be something wrong with her! My lords, arrest her immediately! Please leave the interrogation to me, I will definitely be able to—"
Compared to the original plot, Ribbons' style of action was much more aggressive. Not only did he have a large number of Innovators join A-Laws from the start, but he also didn't completely hide their existence. Both the puppets in the Federation high command and the high-ranking officials of A-Laws were aware of the Innovators' presence.
Arba Lindt, who had been assigned to this task, was the same. However, he remained a mere foot soldier, a pawn. Seeing his performance was so pathetic, Revive Revival was already prepared to clean up this clown after the mission ended. A world led by Innovators did not need such trash.
"Enough!"
"..."
"Get to the side, clean yourself up, and don't let anyone see any flaws."
"Un... Understood!" Arba Lindt felt Revive Revival's killing intent and scrambled back to his room.
"Tch, garbage." Revive Revival felt truly disgusted by a sycophant like Arba Lindt.
"We can just dispose of him later. But Revive, that woman actually dared to threaten us. We should just get rid of her!"
"Calm down, now is not the time to move against her," Revive Revival said. "She will be a very important card in our hands. If Myer really has returned, he will definitely come looking for her."
"Capturing her would serve as the same bait to lure that man out."
"It's not the same. Don't underestimate Myer; he is someone even Ribbons is wary of. And... arresting her in her own military camp? Do you want to die?"
"...Hmph!"
"Just wait. VEDA has already found Myer's trail. Our mission is to confirm his location and then bring him to see Ribbons."
"...Understood." The Innovators were not a monolithic group; they each had their own personalities and styles of action. However, they shared one common trait: vanity. They believed they were god-like existences in front of ordinary people, and they felt the same toward other Innovators, refusing to submit to one another.
But they all obeyed one person's orders: Ribbons. This was because Ribbons had created them and was leading them to become the gods of this world, establishing a new world with Innovators as its deities.
"Beep beep beep..."
"Hmm?" Receiving a message, Revive Revival took out his PAD and looked at it, the corners of his mouth curling up. "Intelligence from VEDA. It's confirmed that Myer appeared at Smirnov's house. He stayed for a while and then left, heading this way. By tomorrow night at the latest, we can take action."
"Has he finally come? Then that woman has no more value, right?"
"Once we find Myer, do as you wish. Oh, and clean up the two people following Myer along with him."
"Heh, understood."
As the sun rose and set, Revive Revival and the others didn't just rest in their rooms while waiting. They had to maintain appearances. However, after being disciplined, Arba Lindt had tucked away his arrogance. He simply led Revive Revival on a tour around Kati's camp without causing trouble.
On the second night, seeing Kati change into civilian clothes, Revive Revival knew the opportunity had come.
"Let's go."
"Yeah."
"My... My lords, what about me?" Seeing Revive Revival and the others preparing to leave, Arba Lindt pointed at himself.
"You?" Revive Revival raised an eyebrow, a good idea coming to mind as his lips curled into a dangerous arc. "Stand by here. I have a very important task to give you later."
"Really? Understood!" Arba Lindt had thought his unsightly display would cause him to fall from grace, but he hadn't expected to make a comeback so quickly. He believed Revive Revival's words implicitly and promised solemnly.
Revive Revival signaled to the Innovator beside him. Upon receiving the signal, the other person placed a small black sphere into Arba Lindt's hand and then left without a word. Arba Lindt didn't suspect what it was, clutching it to his chest like a treasure with an excited smile on his face.
Revive Revival led his people in a car, following closely behind Kati. After putting some distance between them, he took out his PAD and activated a string of commands. Then...
The black ball in Arba Lindt's arms suddenly opened, and a ten-second countdown stung his eyes. Just as he prepared to flee, the countdown reached its end.
"Boom—!"
Flames shot into the sky, illuminating the camp.
"Major General, an explosion has occurred in the camp, specifically in the area where the special envoys were staying," the subordinate driving reported anxiously.
"Are there any casualties?" Kati asked, her face dark as ink.
"None of our people. Captain Revival was following us with several others. Major Arba Lindt's whereabouts are currently unknown, he should be..."
"Fine, I understand."
"Major General, should we head back now..."
"No. Continue toward the target location. After I get out, return to the camp and wait for my notice to pick me up."
"But your safety..."
"Do not worry about my safety. That is an order."
"Un... Understood."
In truth, Kati was also worried about the situation at the camp and knew she had been played by the other side. Arba Lindt was an A-Laws special envoy; if he died in a bomb attack in her camp, she would not be able to escape responsibility regardless. Dismissal would be the lightest punishment; at worst, she could be thrown directly into prison.
However, she did not turn back because Yang Hui had told her when he contacted her: no matter what happened on the road, do not look back. Don't worry about being followed; just come to see him.
Though she was confused, Kati trusted Yang Hui. His arrangements must have their reasons. To avoid disrupting Yang Hui's plan, she endured her worry and continued forward.
Two cars drove one after another down the road, stopping only when they reached a backstreet. After Kati got out, she told her subordinate to drive away. She glanced at the car parked blatantly behind her and walked straight into a basement bar.
"Heh, it seems the opponent has something to rely on." Their tailing hadn't been hidden, yet the other party had given them a provocative look before disappearing from sight. This stung the pride of the Innovators. "Let's go."
The group got out of the car and followed Kati's footsteps into the same bar.
"Yo, you guys sure are slow." Just as they stepped through the door, they saw Yang Hui raising a wine glass toward them, completely unconcerned by their identities. Kati sat beside Yang Hui, intimately holding his arm, but she was like a cheetah ready to strike, waiting for them.
"First time meeting you, Mr. Myer. I am Revive Revival. Sorry to keep you waiting." An Innovator's intelligence was above that of an average person. Kati allowing them to follow her could be said to be intentionally leading them to meet Yang Hui, which meant their arrival had been part of Yang Hui's plan from the start.
"Would you like something to drink? I don't come to this shop often, but the Azure Heart and Flaming Red Lips are decent."
"No need, Mr. Myer. Since you were waiting for us, you should know why we are here." Revive Revival felt that Myer was too calm, giving him a bad feeling. Thus, he didn't plan to waste time; completing the mission immediately was the best course of action. "Please, Mr. Myer."
"Sigh, as expected, artificial products are just artificial products. They don't understand manners or wit at all." Yang Hui shook his head and swirled the wine in his glass. He had no intention of standing up; instead, he looked at Revive Revival and the others playfully.
"You..."

The elegance on Revive Revival's face shattered, replaced by a contorted expression. The people behind him were ready to draw their guns to teach this arrogant man a lesson. They were Innovators, but they had a stain that couldn't be washed away: they were "Artificial" Innovators. They were creations of the ordinary humans they looked down upon.
But just as their hands touched the pistols behind their backs, the cold and hard touch of death pressed against their foreheads.
"There's someone here!" Everyone was shocked. They were Innovators; even without GN particles and even without entering Innovator Mode, their perception should far exceed that of ordinary people. It should have been impossible for anyone to hide from their senses.
"Look at this. This is your pride, and it's worthless. Innovators... oh, wait, Artificial Innovators." Yang Hui corrected himself. The term "Innovator" was a bit too broad and would have included himself.
"...You won't kill us."
"That's hard to say." Yang Hui gave a playful smile that set off alarms in Revive Revival's mind. Revive planned to turn and seize the other party's pistol or roll to the side to escape.
He was confident because he was an Innovator, with physical capabilities higher than the strongest humans.
But to his horror, a large hand pressed down on his shoulder, rendering him unable to move an inch. At the same time, several gunshots rang out from behind him.
Bang, bang, bang—
The companions behind him fell to the ground, gruesome holes left in various parts of their heads.
"You!"
"Only one person is needed to deliver a message." Yang Hui picked up his wine glass and walked in front of Revive Revival, spilling the wine in the glass before him as if in tribute to the dead.
"Myer..."
"Go back and tell Ribbons: if he wants to see me, he should come himself. You are not qualified." Yang Hui spoke in a cold tone.
"Damn mortal..."
"Is that so? Then..." Before he could finish, under Revive Revival's horrified gaze, Yang Hui entered Innovator Mode. The rainbow light in his eyes pierced Revive Revival's soul, and the rest of the sentence rang directly in Revive Revival's mind. "...How about this? Artificial Innovator? Or should I say... fake?"
"You... you are..."
"Alright, you can go now, Mr. Revival." After a second or two, Yang Hui exited Innovator Mode and kindly straightened Revive Revival's collar before asking him to leave. "Kati and I have just reunited after a long time. Please don't continue to spoil the mood here. Thank you."
