After the release of the movie, Rowan and the others continued to promote the movie because of how good the reaction was.
The admission for the first day was 1,000,000 people meaning $6 million in box office. The next day the box office rose to $12 million with the admission of people rising up to 2 million people. The box office for the third day was $10 million, just a short weekend the movie has not only recovered it's production money but even returned with big profit margins. Luc Besson was cursing himself for selling the rights to Taxi as now he couldn't even make a sequel to his own movie without Rowan's permission.
Though it wasn't just Luc, the media group behind him was also cursing themselves for being short sighted.
The following week the admission was 7 million with box office if $35 million. In 10 days the movie earned $63 million. It was the highest after Titanic this year and last year's Fifth Element. Thanks to its popularity Rowan's driving skill were improved by another point abd he was sure that now he won't lose to anyone in car racing.
The french media beleived that it has the potential to beat the record of the previous two movies but Rowan knew that titanics record of 22 million admission wasn't going to be broken by Taxi, it already exhausted it's potential at the highest box office it can reach would be $70 million but that's already a big win for everyone, the worldwide rights for the movie has already been sold and they are going to release it as soon as possible so before Rowan releases this movie in America it's box office would already be above $100 million just like his other movie Life is beautiful.
Unlike Taxi, Cecchi group still hasn't sold the overseas rights as they planned to hold it untill after Cannes.
April 22, Rowan sat back on the plane and returned to America. After coming back he met Zack Snyder first the commercial director has been waiting for Rowan for a week, so Rowan decided to meet the guy first.
"Mr. Snyder, since you have been waiting for me for a whole week you have an idea as to why I have called you. So I won't waste your time" Rowan sat infront of Zack Snyder and signals Sarah.
Sarah puts a script infront of Zack, then Rowan continued, "This is a script that was chosen by our team from the script library. Alan B. McElroy is the script writer and we bought the script from him, it's a slasher film which follows a group of six individuals being stalked by a cannibal family in the woods of West Virginia."
Zack picked up the script and gave it rough read, he could see the potential in it but still something was missing for him.
"What do you think can you direct it?" Rowan asked
"Yes, I can thank you for giving me this chance. But I want to ask can I make some changes in the script" Zack Snyder asked
Intrigued Rowan asked "What type of changes you are thinking about?"
Mainly the fight between Chris and the 3 cannibals at end. Rather than killing them all at once I would change Chris and the others to trick or trap one cannibal to kill him than Chris as Jessie fighting and killing the other one and finally Chris burning the house in the end to try to kill the last cannibal.
Rowan thought about and this way story looked a little better than the original storyline so he gave the greenlight to Zack.
"Thank you I will make sure to create a great movie." Snyder said
Rowan smiled and nodded "Don't worry I am sure you will do great, the budget of the movie is around $9 million whatever you may need, you can contact my agent or your producer."
After talking for another minute or two Zack Snyder left.
"*Sigh* Mary what about the person I talked about"
"Don't worry Emmanuel said he would do so he really would" Mary replied
"I hope we get a reply, I have too much to do right now."
