The sounds of hurried footsteps echoed outside—the gunfire earlier had drawn more people to the scene.
John Wick hid behind a pillar. He had already taken out the bastard who had killed his dog, but he didn't mind taking out a few more.
The footsteps grew closer. Suddenly, John burst out from behind the pillar, shooting a thug in the hand and knocking his weapon away.
John plunged into the crowd, using the disarmed thug as a human shield. He fired in a sweeping arc, killing two more nearby enemies, before finishing off his shield with a clean shot.
After eliminating three targets, John tucked into a forward roll just as bullets riddled the spot he had just occupied.
Returning fire, John advanced cautiously, using the pillar for cover.
Hearing the gunfire, Willes finally rushed over with reinforcements. The sight nearly made him lose his mind—his men were lying dead all over the lobby.
John was still advancing. The remaining enemies emptied their clips at him, bullets hammering the pillar and filling the air with stone dust.
"Ding—"
The elevator bell chimed.
At the same moment, a figure burst from the smoke, spraying wild gunfire at the elevator.
Gunfire roared.
John Wick sprinted toward the elevator as bullets chased after him.
"Pop pop pop—click click—"
His magazine ran dry just as a man emerged from the elevator.
John flung his empty gun at the man's face, then lunged, clamping his body around the man's gun arm. With a violent twist, he slammed the man to the ground.
Seizing the man's weapon, John turned and fired two shots, dropping two pursuers, before rolling aside for cover.
Meanwhile, Avril and Zheng Anshun charged out of the elevator, returning fire to suppress John and then sprinting toward another exit.
Earlier, two men near the elevator had been mowed down by friendly fire, shielding Avril and Zheng from harm.
"Who are these people?" Zheng asked.
"Cannon fodder. Ignore them. Move!" Avril snapped as they retreated.
Back in the lobby, six more enemies advanced cautiously. The smoke had masked John's exact position.
John erupted from behind a pillar, rushing a thug. Another tried to aim but hesitated, fearing friendly fire, only to get shot in the throat by John.
John dispatched the thug he was grappling with and immediately noticed someone sneaking up behind him, their shadow reflected in a metal trash bin.
Without turning, John swung his knife backward, stabbing the ambusher in the eye.
As John reached for the corpse's weapon, two more enemies appeared by the doorway.
Without hesitation, John grabbed the corpse's hand and squeezed the trigger, shooting the newcomers dead.
Just as John was about to grab a gun, Willes himself charged at him like a furious bull.
The two men grappled, smashing through furniture, toppling decorations, and trashing the lobby.
John took a brutal kick to the stomach, followed by a back body drop onto the reception desk, which splintered into pieces.
Staggering from the impact, John barely rolled aside as Willes lifted a full water cooler bottle to smash it over his head.
John tripped Willes, grabbed a fallen pencil, and stabbed him six times in rapid succession.
"Thud, thud—" Blood spurted from six fresh wounds.
For the final blow, John drove the pencil into Willes's eye with all his strength.
"Who the hell are you?" Willes gasped, fear overtaking his rage.
"You killed my dog," John said coldly.
"You—you killed so many people... just because of a dog?! You psycho—"
Before he could finish, the pencil plunged into his brain.
Breathing heavily, John stared at the corpse, dark red and black fluid oozing from the destroyed eye socket.
One Wolf Pack boss was dead. One more to go.
John sat briefly to recover his strength, then grabbed a weapon and continued the chase.
...
Outside the building, Owen burst from the stairwell just in time to see Avril and Zheng approaching.
"Pop pop pop—"
Gunfire erupted immediately.
Owen fired back while dodging bullets that pinged and sparked around him.
Avril's group—seven or eight people strong—began to encircle him.
Owen stayed behind cover, then suddenly made a sweeping arc with his right arm, firing a curved shot that hit one thug mid-stride, dropping him instantly.
The enemy hesitated at the strange shot.
Owen prepared to press the advantage when suddenly a door beside him burst open—a gunman appeared, less than a meter away.
No time to think.
Both Owen and the new arrival instinctively fired two shots at each other.
Owen staggered from the impact to his chest. Thankfully, his bulletproof vest held.
Ignoring the pain, he tried to shoot the man in the head—but the gunman mirrored his move.
Both pushed each other's gun barrels aside just in time—
"Bang bang—"
The bullets missed.
Owen and John Wick both stood up, recognizing each other.
They had crossed paths before—during an underground racing event in LA.
They both instantly knew: the other wasn't their enemy.
Neither pulled the trigger.
"Freeze!"
"FBI! Drop your weapon!"
Benjamin and the FBI team finally arrived, gasping for breath after racing up dozens of flights of stairs.
Seeing John Wick, who had carved a bloody path through the Wolf Pack, the agents immediately treated him as the greater threat.
They aimed their SMGs at him first, then surrounded Avril and Zheng's group.
No one dared move.
At this range, not even the best fighter could dodge a submachine gun barrage.
Everyone was rounded up and marched toward the square outside, where FBI vehicles pulled up.
Agents moved in to cuff the captives—when suddenly Benjamin shouted:
"RPG!"
From a dark corner, Eddie Carter fired an RPG at the group, then reloaded and fired a second shot.
"Boom! Boom!"
Explosions rocked the square.
Carter had been biding his time, knowing Avril would be vulnerable while trying to rescue Zheng.
He had come to finish her once and for all.
Fortunately for Avril, both RPG rounds missed—though many FBI agents weren't so lucky.
Chaos broke out.
Amid the confusion, John Wick, Avril, and Zheng Anshun fled in different directions.
As John ran, a car skidded to a halt in front of him.
The door flung open.
"John! Get in!"
Wick glanced at the driver, stunned: "Levon Attal?"
"Get in—now!"
John didn't hesitate and jumped in as the car roared away.
