Xu Ruan stepped closer to the bars.
"Your Highness..you're okay"
Long Cheng lifted his head.
"What are you doing here? Father Emperor.."
Xu Ruan shook her head slightly and Long Cheng leaned back, defeated.
"I'm sorry Ruan'er. I couldn't protect you. I'm sorry."
His voice choked with sobs and Xu Ruan felt bored. She looked around and saw that the guards were out of earshot. Good, now she didn't need to pretend anymore.
She still needed to play the devoted wife in front of the empower but that wasn't necessary for Long Cheng. She already got what she wanted and it would be best if he was completely broken.
Her expression slightly changed. She wasn't here to reminisce but to throw it in his face. She noticed his feelings for her so it would definitely hurt him.
