Chapter 54 - 3.4

Fu Yanxi saw that things were going off track and she started trembling.

"Dad.. stop.. please don't.. don't dad.. noo.."

The female officer pat her gently with distress. No one knew better than her the despair in being hurt by the very one who was supposed to protect you. She couldn't help but speak up.

"This man is an abuser and you're all just letting him try to talk his way out of it? What's wrong with the justice system?"

Fu Ling zeroed in on her

"As a police officer, the worst mistake you could make is to let your personal experience determine the way you handle a case. If you're prejudiced because of something that once happened to you then would that mean the free and fair trial has lost its meaning?"

The officer was stunned and looked away. She didn't think she was wrong. All she did was protect victims who came to her for help. Victims just like herself.

Rong Hua spoke up again

"Fu Ling you say you have no interest in children but my Xixi is already well developed. Who knows whether you freed yourself from guilt by thinking in this way?"

Yan Mo was a bit uncomfortable with her words but he wanted to get justice for his daughter if not her would loose face.

"Fu Ling, you keep denying its you but all evidence proves it's you. What more do you have to say?"

Fu Ling couldn't help but laugh

"Evidence? What evidence? We've been merely exchanging words since I got here. Where is the evidence you speak of? As for her, who knows what wild man she played with and came to frame me?"

Yan Mo felt the veins bulging in his forehead

"FU LING!" You cannot talk about my daughter like that. Not to mention you raised her for fourteen years of her life how could you say such a thing?"

Fu Ling remained calm despite his outburst

"Simply because I raised her for fourteen years."

Rong Hua clung onto Yan Mo with tears in her eyes

"I'm sorry. It's my fault. I didn't choose a good father for our daughter"

"Rong Hua was your conscience eaten by a dog? Do you dare to swear to the heavens that I wasn't a good father? Do you dare it?"

Rong Hua paled and she bit her lip

"But you did something like this to Xixi—"

"Are you deaf? What part of I don't like children don't you understand? And before you come up with that rotten view of yours, I don't like women either. You seem to have forgotten why I agreed to marry you in the first place"

Rong Hua couldn't help but be afraid. Fu Ling had never shown this side before.

Fu Ling looked at her shrinking into Yan Mo and smiled

"Can't remember? Okay let me remind you. Rong Hua you came to me asking me to marry you because your lover ran away and left you with a baby. Coincidentally my parents were urging me to get married as well. What did I tell you at that time? I said 'Rong Hua we can only be husband and wife in name. I don't like women and I know you don't like me. I'll take care of your daughter you don't have to worry about that. She's my daughter now.' Did that refresh your memory? You must have failed to tell her right if not she wouldn't have used such a trick to try and frame me. To me children and women are the same thing. Both are undesirable"

Everyone was stunned. No one expected him to come out like that. If it was really as he said then could it be that he had been wronged?

"Besides, I was drunk last night. Drunk men can't get it up " He continued with a deadpanned face.

The female officer beside Yanxi was shocked. Had she misunderstood? Was she being used? But she made one last ditch effort

"You say you were drunk so maybe you lost control of yourself."

Fu Ling shook his head

"If I dislike something while sober, I'll only hate it even more when I'm drunk and vice versa."

After saying that, he glanced at Fu Yanxi

"Besides, I'm not one to lose my memory after sobering up"

Fu Yanxi raised her head sharply and happened to lock eyes with him. She quickly bent her head in fear and gripped her phone tightly.

Yan Mo felt life everything had been messed up by the two women

"Everything you're saying is all your one sided words. How are we sure you're not saying it just to free yourself?"

Fu Ling laughed.

"I'm thirty eight years old and I've been celibate for thirty eight years. Including the fourteen years of my so called marriage. There's a higher chance of me having sex with you Mr Yan, than anything ever developing between me and this mother-daughter pair. But you can rest assured. You're not my type. I'm just making an analogy."

Yan Mo subconsciously took a step back and then frowned. What did he mean he wasn't his type? When he realized where his thoughts had veered off to, his brows furrowed.

While they were at an impasse, Fu Yanxi's phone started playing a recording.

Her face paled and she wanted to turn it off but the female officer who noticed something wrong grabbed the phone from her hand and increased the volume.

After listening to the recording, everyone looked between Fu Yanxi who was trembling—with fear this time, and Fu Ling who no longer had his former arrogant temperament and was bowing hus head, and shook their heads.

The female officer was shocked. If she didn't realize she was being used now then she would be a complete fool.

She smiled sadly to herself. He was right. She had let her past experience make her prejudiced. She wasn't fit to be a police officer.

Rong Hua was even more stunned. She couldn't believe that her own daughter would say such things about her and try to sow discord between Fu Ling and herself.

Yan Mo was equally silent. How happy he was to find out he had a daughter, that was how embarrassed he was now.

Fu Ling took in everyone's reactions and sighed deeply.

"Can I go home now? Or do I have to press charges first?"

Yan Mo immediately came to his senses

"What do you want?"

Without hesitation Fu Ling said

"A divorce. And I want her to change her name. She doesn't deserve to have my last name."

Yan Mo swallowed and nodded

"I'll have my team get to you—"

Fu Ling interrupted him

"Now"

Yan Mo turned to the lawyers and they borrowed a laptop from one of the officers to draft a divorce agreement and printed it out.

Fu Ling read through it and signed his name. Rong Hua was also made to sign unwillingly and Fu Ling stood up.

"I won't monitor you concerning changing her name but if I meet any of you again, I don't want her to still be bearing that name Fu"

He beckoned to Xiao Meng and the same two officers who brought him earlier, took them back.

Fu Ling watched Xiao Meng's swift figure as he dashed into his house and lowered his head to hide the smile on his lips. The aunties would have a field day with this one.
