Once everyone had left, Elena then turned to Ethan with a questioning gaze, clearly asking why he had interrupted their happy conversation.
But Ethan had already foreseen his wife's reaction, so he quickly diverted her attention.
"Look, Leo is starting to wake up. It's too noisy inside—the babies are getting uncomfortable."
As always, it worked. Elena immediately focused on soothing Leo, gently lulling him back to sleep—and completely forgetting about her husband in the process.
"Sleep, Leo. It's not time to wake up yet, baby," she murmured softly, pressing gentle kisses to his chubby cheeks again and again.
Not long after, Baby Leo drifted back to sleep. Elena then carefully placed him into the bed, tucking him in together with his younger brothers.
Only then did she turn back to Ethan, her expression growing serious once more.
"So, what exactly happened to Building C?" she asked. "Everyone keeps saying that area has changed."
