Right Now , Zaboru would be attending Sanika's school because the school was holding a family competition where students had to bring either their parents or older siblings to participate in different games and activities. It was meant to be a cheerful community event, filled with laughter, friendly rivalries, and school pride. Zaboru decided to attend as a surprise for his little sister, since the very next day he would have to fly back to America and might not see her for some time. Keiko and Zanichi, their parents, had told Sanika they couldn't make it to the school that day, pretending they were busy with other obligations. In truth, this was part of a carefully planned arrangement between them and Zaboru, ensuring that he could step in and create a memorable moment for his sister. Sanika, of course, was unaware of all of this, which made the surprise even more meaningful.
Now Sanika was standing in the wide, sunlit field, her shoes pressing into the soft grass as she shifted nervously from foot to foot. She was a second-year middle schooler now, and excitement had been buzzing in her all morning. She kept glancing toward the entrance, hoping to see the familiar faces of her mom and dad arriving any moment. All of her friends' parents or siblings had already shown up — laughing, chatting, and waving as they joined their children. Only hers had not, leaving her feeling increasingly anxious and a little embarrassed. Just as she was beginning to wonder if they would show up at all, a teacher approached her with a gentle but serious expression.
"Sanika-chan, I've just received word that your parents won't be able to come today due to some urgent matters. But don't worry—someone else will be arriving in their place to join you."
Sanika's eyes widened, then she let out a soft sigh. It couldn't be helped, she told herself. She had already given up wondering who might come to her parents' place. But just as she was resigning to the thought, a sudden murmur rose from behind her — a voice full of shock and excitement: "No way!? Is that really him!"
Sanika's eyes widened. It was none other than her brother! He was wearing a casual shirt that showed off his athletic build, drawing impressed glances from nearby girls.
Zaboru grinned warmly and gently patted Sanika's hand, his expression full of mischief and affection. "Sorry, Sani-chan. Mom and Dad are tied up with other things today, so I came in their place," he said with a playful wink that instantly eased the tension in her chest.
Sanika's eyes widened, her lips parting in surprise. "Aren't you super busy, Nii-san?" she asked, though the sparkle in her eyes betrayed how thrilled she really was that her brother had come. Zaboru gave a playful shrug, a small grin tugging at his mouth. "Well, I can't say no to my lovely sister, can I? After all, hehehe I'm the best brother in the whole universe" Sanika rolled her eyes but chuckled.
Meanwhile, the school was buzzing.
The girls erupted in a chorus of high-pitched screams, clutching each other's arms and bouncing in excitement. "KYAAA, IT'S REALLY HIM!" they shrieked, their voices carrying across the field. A wave of awe swept over the crowd as they pointed and whispered, utterly delighted to see Zaboru Renkonan standing there in the flesh, larger than life and even more dazzling than they had imagined.
"No way! Is that Zaboru Renkonan!" one boy shouted, his voice cracking with excitement. Another chimed in louder, "I'm his biggest FAN, I swear!" Soon a small crowd of kids surged toward him, eager to shake his hand or just get close. Zaboru only chuckled and greeted them with a casual wave, his easygoing manner making him seem both approachable and larger-than-life. The parents couldn't resist joining in the excitement either. Many gamer dads were absolutely thrilled to see a legend of their hobby right there on school grounds, swapping excited comments about his skill. The moms, on the other hand, found themselves charmed for an entirely different reason — Zaboru's boyish smile and striking looks made him irresistibly cute in their eyes.
Soon, plenty of Sanika's friends leaned in close, whispering excitedly and begging her to introduce them to her brother. Sanika only gave them a sharp glare before crossing her arms and replying with a smirk, "Give it up, girls. He already has an amazing girlfriend—and besides, he's way out of your league."
After a short while, the events finally began. There were many games to choose from, and one of the most anticipated was football. Zaboru intentionally held himself back so he could enjoy playing alongside Sanika's friends' fathers without completely overwhelming them. He kept his movements casual, playing for fun without breaking a sweat. Still, every now and then, he couldn't resist showing off just a little, reminding everyone of his natural talent and cheats Reincarnation abilities.
When he finally received the ball, Zaboru activated his "Deep Memory Dive" and "Enlightenment" abilities, recalling in vivid detail the way Cristiano Ronaldo had moved in his memories. With his superior physique from "Enlightment", he reproduced flawlessly. Gliding past two defenders with effortless precision, he unleashed a thunderous shot that ripped into the net, a screamer that left the crowd breathless. He threw his arms up in celebration as his teammates rushed to him, and the audience erupted in thunderous cheers.
But Zaboru only pulled off that dazzling move once, choosing instead to let the other fathers and kids enjoy the game without being overshadowed. Even so, he remained a constant presence on the field, guiding his teammates with clever passes and encouraging words. By the final whistle, Zaboru's team had triumphed 7–3. Zaboru himself scored a single goal and provided two well-placed assists, a balanced performance that allowed the others to shine while still leaving no doubt of his skill.
Sanika only smiles when she already knows that her brother somehow had an insanely athletic physique and talent.
Sanika had an absolute blast with Zaboru attending her event, her happiness shining as they shared the day together. After the activities wrapped up, she and her brother walked side by side, chatting and laughing casually. Zaboru, wanting to spoil her, promised to treat her to anything she wished. With a mischievous grin, Sanika marched straight to the ZAGE store, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she began piling up action figures of her favorite characters. She eagerly picked out several different series and even splurged on a detailed Gunpla kit—despite Gundam and those figures also being owned by ZAGE—her enthusiasm unstoppable as Zaboru watched with amused fondness.
Zaboru was surprised. "You collect action figures, Sani-chan? And even Gunpla too?" Sanika grinned and nodded eagerly. "Yes, Nii-san! I love them. You'll buy them all for me, right?" Zaboru chuckled warmly. "Of course. Buy as many as you like—I promised, after all."
Meanwhile, the ZAGE store employee was breaking into a cold sweat. Why? Because Zaboru Renkonan himself was standing there, in his store! And not just browsing—he actually wanted to buy something. The poor clerk's mind raced in panic. Should he really dare to charge a literall Big Boss of ZAGE!? What if he offended him? What if he gave him a discount and it was taken as an insult? His hands trembled as he fumbled with the register, caught between awe, fear, and the overwhelming pressure of serving his Big Boss.
Zaboru chuckled and said to the employee, "Relax, man—just treat me normally. I'm a customer right now," before buying all the action figures and Gunpla Sanika wanted. He then asked for them to be delivered to their home. Of course, Zaboru paid for everything himself.
Sanika grinned ear to ear, her joy lingering from such a wonderful day. Yet beneath that happiness was a quiet ache—tomorrow her brother would fly back to the US, leaving her behind once more. The thought made her chest heavy, but she knew it couldn't be helped. His work was important, and she was proud of him, even if it meant missing him deeply.
