Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 A Merciful Guide

Kiana continued to stare at the self proclaimed demon king.

Azura didn't seem to notice Kiana's confusion, continuing her speech with zeal. "I shall guide thee through this strange land, providing my wisdom and protection in exchange for nothing but your trust! Yes, I, Azura, the Merciful Demon King, shall be the one to help you navigate this world, should you seek my glorious aid!"

Kiana tilted her head to the side. 'Is she offering help?'

Azura took a dramatic step forward, sweeping her coat as if she were unveiling the most important revelation of all time. "I offer thee the path, the truth, the salvation, nay! The glorious power that will guide you through this realm! Will you accept my offer, wandering soul?"

"Are you asking to be my guide?"

Azura stared at her, struck silent for a moment, before her posture sagged slightly in realization. "Ah, you… you did not understand the depth of my grand proclamation?"

"Not a word at all"

Azura froze up, her face turning red, she used her oversized witch hat to cover her face. "So, do you need a guide? I can tell you're new here…" She said, dropping her over the top speech and poses.

"Yes, that would be nice" Kiana answered, she didn't really know where anything was and she was going to just wander around, she saw no harm in a guide so she accepted Azura's offer.

Azura peeked out from behind her hat, her cheeks still red. "Right! So... follow me, then. I'll make sure you don't get lost," she said with a newfound confidence.

Kiana nodded. "Lead the way" She said, Kiana can barely comprehend Fu Hua's poetic way of speaking, now she has to deal with this.

They walked up to a gateway, the inside was a blue portal. There were few people coming and going from the portal, it made Kiana curious.

"Isn't The Company supposed to be omniversal or something like that, why are there so few people?" While there were indeed a lot of people, it didn't match with the size and influence The Company had.

"Oh, there are many entrances, this place is just one of them. It's not publicly known how many there are but I wouldn't be surprised if there are trillions of them"

Azura walked through the gateway first, her body disappearing in the blue portal. Kiana hesitated for a moment, she closed her eyes and then walked through. When she opened her eyes, she was baffled by the sight. It looked to be a massive shopping mall, just looking up she couldn't count the amount of floors there were.

"Welcome to the trade hub! This is where contractors come to sell their products to other contractors! This floor is the general area, however you can go to floors that are specific to a world. Each floor is divided into sections, each section having a certain theme like military, farming, construction, all that type of stuff" Azura said with enthusiasm as she and Kiana walked around.

Azura led them to what looked like an elevator. "These elevators are used to go between floors, if you have a specific floor you want to go to just type the world name in the console and it will bring you to that floor, come on, I'll show you!"

She grabbed Kiana's hand and pulled her into the elevator. She clicked on the console and a holographic keyboard appeared. "Your world is Honkai Impact, correct?"

Kiana nodded. Azura typed in the name and confirmed it. The elevator began moving upward and casual music started playing. "So how long does an elevator ride take? Since there are so many floors" Kiana asked out of curiosity and because she really didn't want to sit in an elevator for hours, at least the music was nice.

"Should be about a minute, these elevators are quite special after all" And true to her word, the doors opened after about a minute. They walked out and the first thing that greeted Kiana were familiar faces. There were hundreds of her running around, as well as Mei, Bronya, Himeko and many others. She was overwhelmed by the site.

Azura and Kiana walked through the many stores and stalls that were set up, all selling a variety of products ranging from battlesuits, weapons, mechas, flying battleships, and even Divine Keys. Seeing the prices of some of the high end products made her jaw drop. She only had 32 credits on her, yet some of these items were going for 100 credits minimum. At least there were some good items in her price range.

After a few hours of window shopping, they went to a restaurant. The food was free which Kiana was thankful for, after all you can't go wrong with free food.

As they ate their burgers, Azura looked up at Kiana. "By the way, I never got your name"

Kiana froze her chewing, then swallowed. "My name is Kiana Kaslana"

"Oh, so you went with the name of your character instead of your old one?" Kiana tilted her head to the side in confusion.

"You know your old name before you reincarnated"

"That is the name my old man gave me"

"Your father named you after a video game character? Strange taste but it is a good name so I can see why"

Kiana sighed, she then started to explain her story. From when she died by the Honkai bomb to meeting a person from The Company and reincarnation again in her world again. Azura was shocked, she had never heard of a character becoming a contractor before, but she managed to quickly recover, it is the omniverse after all, with infinite possibilities.

Kiana was still bothered by the fact that she was a character in a video game, she made a note to see if she can get her hands on the game and play through it for information. Also, because it could fun, but she wouldn't admit the last part.

After talking some more, they went to the entertainment district. That side was filled with all sorts of establishments to entertain anyone. Arcades, casinos, arenas, amusement parks, restaurants, night clubs, strip clubs, brothels, air shows. You name it, it is there. Kiana didn't enter any of the establishments, just a brief look around before she and Azura left back to the plaza.

They said their goodbyes after Azura gave her contact info to Kiana. Then her body disappeared from the plaza and Kiana found herself sitting on the couch inside her dimensional home.

Deciding the day was eventful enough, she left her dimensional home to return to her dorm room. Checking the time, only a few minutes had passed. She set her phone down and jumped on the bed where she snuggled under the cover and went to sleep.
