"You vanished."
Yuna said it before Jin had even sat down. She was already at the long table in the hotel lobby with a bowl of rice in front of her, and she didn't look up when she said it. She just kept eating, very slowly, in the way people eat when they're angry and want you to know it.
"Good morning," Jin said.
"You vanished in a storm of cards in front of a thousand people."
"It wasn't a thousand."
"You were standing next to me," Yuna said, "and then there were cards everywhere, and then there was nothing where you were standing." She set her spoon down and finally looked at him. "Do you know how that looks?"
"I sent you a message."
"After."
Jin sat down across from her. Kyung-min was on her left, working his way through his second plate of fish. Hyunwoo was on her right, holding a cup of barley tea with both hands. Yerin sat at the end of the table, quietly peeling an egg.
"I'm sorry," Jin said. And he meant it. "He grabbed me before I knew what was happening."
