As its fingers snapped, a loud noise echoed and three golden screen came to life.
The golden screens flickered once, drifting apart from each other in the settling dark, and the first one floated forward, singling Jin out from the other two. Areum and Do-yun both straightened slightly, watching, the exhaustion in their expressions giving way briefly to genuine curiosity about what was actually about to happen.
The dokkaebi grinned wider, as if it had been waiting for exactly this moment all night. "Let's start," it purred, "with the anomaly."
Jin didn't flinch, though he felt the pressure in the air shift, subtle but unmistakable, the way it always did right before something significant actually happened.
The screen before him glowed brilliant white gold, runes dancing along its edges as text began to shape itself out of light.
