The phantom slash surged first, a blur that split into three ghost images racing toward Mazoku from three different angles at once, none of them quite solid, none of them quite where the eye expected steel to actually travel. But as he followed them further they split into more and more phantom slashes all pushing his insticts to the limit.
He decided if he could identify which attack was the real one he would simply block them all so he did his black claws snapping up to intercept every single strike coming his way and to his suprise their was a pressure and force behind every one of them but in the end he didnt catch the enemy before him, thats when he realized what was happening.
In that fraction of a heartbeat, in that false moment of defense, his body had already committed to facing those strikes head on, so with his guard faced forward he had left his back completely unguarded but before he could retaliate a shadow fell behind him.
