There comes a day when you coincidentally meet your long lost friend who you thought you will never ever meet again but fate brought you two together.
But with Eun Won, though Vincent wasn't his long lost friend but his little brother's long lost boyfriend whom he thought they might never meet since Jae Won had lost his memory.
Eun Won kept placing hints here and there trying to help jog Jae Won's memory but it was like Jae Won detective skills had gone out through the window. No matter how close the hints was, he couldn't see it.
Five years ago, Eun Won ordered his bodyguard to steal Jae Won's phone not for anything but wanted to sneakily send Vincent's pictures to himself. His brother was in love with a foreigner and he wanted to protect him. Too bad he was far away, Eun Won would have gone there himself which he had planned to do that someday.
They brought the phone and he did the deed by transferring some of the pictures to his phone and said softly "this might come in handy." As it was.
Eun Won would intentionally place pictures of Vincent on the night stand in his room and call Jae Won to come over to help him with something while Eun Won secretly hoped these pictures would grasp his attention but it was all for nothing. The only time he asked about the picture was why Eun Won kept putting stranger picture in a frame and placing it beside him.
Jae Won went ahead and asked if Eun Won had a crush on the person in the picture, which was the last straw to make Eun Won give up on his dream on making Jae Won regain his memory. To help clear the misunderstanding between him and his brother, Eun Won had to lie that the person in the picture frame was a celebrity which he like as a brother and not romantically. He had to say this for now before Jae Won regains his memory and become jealous.
Eun Won was lost in his thought with a soft smile lurking at the corner of his lips while Vincent and Akwasi stood there watching him like a hawk. Vincent cleared his throat grasping Eun Won's attention.
Eun Won wheeled himself slowly toward Vincent and raised his head to meet Vincent's gaze. "I think you two should sit because we have a long way to go" he said and wheeled himself toward the perfectly arranged couch. Vincent and Akwasi walked towards the couch and gently sat their gaze never leaving the strange man. It was as though if they just lose focus in a second they will wake up either in heaven or in hell.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you...*laughs*….even if I did later in the future I will face the consequences from a cute tiger." With that said, Vincent and Akwasi glanced at each other and for some unknown reason they believed him and instantly relaxed a bit.
"I know you two are curious about who I am and how I came to know of you two" he said pointing at Vincent then turned to Akwasi. "As for you, I am not quite sure because there were no pictures of you so I'm going to assume you are his best friend right?" asked Eun Won.
The mentioned of pictures aroused their curiosity more as their ears perked up like a rabbit, this sent Eun Won laughing uncontrollably. Even the servants in the mansion could hear Eun Won's laughter. It's been a long time since their young master had laughed like that. The last time was when Jae Won came back and would be talking about something while they watched something on their phone. After the accident, Eun Won and Jae Won haven't laughed so hard like that.
"Sorry, let me get straight to point. I am...I am" he said and intentionally paused to tease these two as he finds them so interesting with their facial expression. Akwasi couldn't take it any longer as he burst out with anger "would you fucking say it and stop with the suspense. We are not in a fucking Indian drama."
Laughter echoed in the room as Akwasi had made Eun Won laughed again "you two are so funny I can chat with you two for the whole day. Okay I am Jae Won's elder brother" he said waiting for their expression to laugh once again.
"Is that all…wait what? You are whose brother?" asked Akwasi. "I am Jae Won's elder brother" Eun Won replied "and my name is Cha Eun Won" he continued. Akwasi's jaw dropped the floor while Vincent kept staring at Eun Won like a kid going to the amusement park for the first time.
Eun Won got to laugh again at their reaction but not for long because Vincent quickly moved closer to him tears already forming in his eyes. "Why…why is he…..wait how do you ….do you know about us…why is he acting like I'm a stranger?" Vincent kept asking questions not waiting for an answer.
"Wo, that is a lot of questions to ask." Said Akwasi as this was getting interesting to watch. He slouched back and folded his arm across the other wishing there was a popcorn and this might turn out to be Netflix and chill.
"Relax, Jae Won told me about you. He showed me your pictures and videos." Eun Won smiled and continued "but that was a hell lot of videos and pictures." Vincent smiled widely before he replied "Jae Won loves taking pictures."
Vincent was so happy Jae Won told his brother about him so why was he pretending not to know him and what's with the barista claiming there was a rumor Jae Won had lost his memory. It doesn't matter since the closest person to him was here and could clear all misunderstanding, so he thought.
"If Jae Won told you about me, then why is he pretending not to remember? Is it because of his fiancée?" Vincent asked. Akwasi sitting upright as though he wouldn't hear them. Eun Won's expression changed suddenly and Vincent knew something was up but had to wait because he doesn't want to assume anything. Just the thought of Jae Won in someone else's arm was painful enough.
"Don't blame him because he had lost his memory" answered Eun Won. "What the hell….now this is interesting. It's like I'm in an Indian series where the main cha…" Akwasi paused as the shot that was coming his way was sharper than always. Akwasi placed his finger on his lips indicating he will stop talking. He felt bad for his best friend.
"Does he always talked like that?" Eun Won asked and Vincent nodded. Eun Won glanced at Akwasi who was about to defend himself but kept quiet. Eun Won told Vincent everything and now he felt so bad for thinking Jae Won had abandoned him but he was going through a whole lot.
Vincent started shedding tears and the two was stunned. They had no idea what to do to console this big elephant. They waited for thirty minutes before Vincent came back to earth. And one thing was nagging at him while he was crying and had to ask "was the driver caught? I want to see him" Vincent said so that could at least bring some consolation to him but all he got was another disappointment because the driver was never caught.
"If Jae Won truly doesn't remember me, then who keeps reading the messages I sent to him? That was the reason why I thought Jae Won had dumped me." Asked Vincent which surprised Eun Won. Jae Won's phone and laptop was gone except his wallet that made the police assumed it might be burglar so did he and not what he was suspecting of. But with this, it might be what he thought of and that was someone might want his brother dead like him which has resulted in him in a wheelchair.
"You mean someone has been reading the messages you sent to him these past five years? That is definitely weird and suspicious because his phone and laptop was not with him after the accident and the medical respondents saw nothing when they got to the accident scene so, who took the phone?" mumbled Eun Won as he kept talking to himself.
One hour has passed and Eun Won and Vincent has been contemplating on if the hit and run driver was the one who stole the phone or another person which would be the one who called emergency services. They had tracked his phone one time and found nothing so they let go of that matter, Eun Won was the one who decided to follow up on his brother's phone and the laptop since it might help his brother remember the few years memory he had lost but the search of the phone yield no results and never thought of it again.
And most importantly, Eun Won felt like Jae Won needed Vincent in his life.
