The words that came out of Emelia's mouth was like words that had come out of a dumb person. Even though she spoke but it still felt like she spoke without sound that is for Mrs Gladys. She turned to look at Akwasi's parents then Emelia's parents then at Akwasi, Vincent, Jae Won and even James as though she was watching their reactions if they actually heard what the girl had said. Even Mr Jonathan was surprised too.
But their reactions said it all confirming what she had just heard. So she then looked at Emelia who has lowered her head as though she is guilty. "What did you just say?" asked by Mrs Gladys maybe she heard it wrong or maybe they all heard it wrong.
"I said we have already broken up and it's been almost five months now" said Emelia making Akwasi who had no idea turned to look at Vincent so did Vincent's mum. "Son is it true? What she had just said, is it true?" but instead of a response, Vincent nodded which made Mrs. Gladys froze for a second before she came back to earth.
"How on earth would you let go of such a wonderful human being?" as she said this she turned to face Emelia who has now raised her head facing Mrs. Gladys as she continued, "wait…did he cheat on you that is why you ended things with him?".
It's like she had a third eye to have guessed it correctly but Emelia and James who knew what Mrs. Gladys has said was the truth turned to look at each other briefly before they turned away their gaze. "No nothing like that happened. It's just that….it wasn't working out that is why we both decided to let each other go so destiny would take us to the right person."
As she said this, she looked at James and you could guess my dear brother over there was grinning like a joker. Mrs Gladys who somehow understood that feeling immediately relaxed before she said, "I'm sorry for anything that had happened and also sorry if he hurts you during those times you two were together."
Emelia's parents who had thought they have gotten in-laws still stood there frozen unable to say anything. They talked after they have been able to digest the information at hand before they joined the conversation that was ongoing between the parents.
Akwasi dragged Vincent away and so did James who also took Emelia further away to have some little talk. But on the other hand, Vincent was up for an interrogation and he knew he was about to be question just the look on Akwasi's face which he didn't let him bother to talk as he said "what do you want to ask?" said by Vincent stunning Akwasi who was now quiet.
"Oh come on, I just wanted to know how you are doing and nothing else" Akwasi said which made Vincent laughed before he said "really, the look on your face has betrayed you so you better ask or else I will leave you here. See Jae Won is all alone" as he said the last sentence he pointed at Jae Won who was indeed alone watching the crowd taking a hell lot of pictures.
As Vincent said this Akwasi turned to Jae Won's direction then back at him before he said, "gosh, how did God create such a magnificent god walking among men" as he said he turned to look Jae Won's then back at Vincent the best moment to catch that smile that was escaping Vincent's lips. Weird right? That's what Akwasi thought but he had more pressing matter to talk about.
"So why wasn't I informed about you dating Emelia all this while only to hear you two have already broken up?" asked Akwasi as he stared right at Vincent making no room for him to escape.
He waited for a whole minute and Vincent hasn't said anything which he was beginning to be pissed "am I not your best friend anymore? I told you about my girl but you didn't and now you won't even tell me the reasons why you did that. Sorry for disturbing you" said Akwasi as he began to walk out the place and go see his girl.
But his wrist was held preventing him from moving any further which Akwasi shot him a glare and he smiled at the glare making Akwasi more pissed. "Wait", said Vincent as he moved a little close to him before he continued, "I'm sorry to have not told you about her and you are right to be angry but please forgive me" said Vincent pouting his lips as Jae Won who usually do that when he was asking for forgiveness from Vincent which always worked.
But not on Akwasi. The moment he pouted his lips, Akwasi just smacked his lips making Vincent growled in pain which in some way satisfied Akwasi as he was now smiling with all the anger vanished into thin air. Vincent also smiled and together they laughed and the issue was resolved.
While they were laughing, Akwasi suddenly remembered something which made his smile stiffened. This didn't escape Vincent's eyes which he asked, "What's wrong?" Akwasi eyes widened while he stared right at Vincent not turning away and this made Vincent felt shivers down his spine. He felt like what was about to come would not be a good thing.
"Wait a minute, did you really cheat on her? Because the last time we spoke about girlfriend, you told me that you were already dating and since it came to notice today that you two had already broken up five months ago, that means…you are still dating this person you were talking about last time. Who is she?"
Vincent just watched him as he said too many things which he had to intentionally let all the words pass the second ear the moment it entered. But if he had to gain support about him and Jae Won in the future, it has to start now. "I indeed cheated on her with someone else" said Vincent lowering his head.
Akwasi, "...." "what the hell", he murmured as he stared at Vincent as he couldn't believe his ears. Vincent is one of the most loyal person he had ever met so who in the world stirred his heart to make Vincent, the holy angel to cheat on his girlfriend. "uuh..who is this person to make you commit such immorality you've never even thought about. Never once in your life but you have broken your vow."
"It's…its" Vincent just turned to Jae Won's direction which Akwasi also turned to look at the same direction before Vincent continued to speak, "it's Jae Won." He finally said it but Akwasi still hasn't even understood what he had just said so he asked again "uhuh, what about Jae Won? What has Jae Won got to do with you cheating on Emelia?" he asked.
Vincent knew he had to make it clear for this man over there to understand what he meant. Vincent sighed before he continued, "I cheated on Emelia with Jae Won" as he said this Akwasi still looked confused so he said "I'm dating Jae Won."
Akwasi, "..."
'I'm dating Jae Won' was the only thing ringing in his ears. He thought he heard it wrong but with the look on Vincent's face proves what he had just heard wasn't any kind of tricks his ears was playing.
"So you mean, the person you cheated on her was a man and it's none other than Jae Won, the man you almost hit with your car the very first day you met and even forgot all about me?" he asked but didn't wait for a response as he was about to continued but in the beginning of his sentence, he was ignored.
Vincent who suddenly turned to look at Jae Won's direction didn't see him again so he began looking around till he saw Jae Won walking with James out of the premises. He saw them walking to the parking lot and he immediately followed leaving behind a stunned Akwasi who was left alone with his question stuck in his throat and his mouth wide opened.
"Hey, I was talking to you" said Akwasi as he spoke into a thin air which he obviously got no answer. "Let me go check on my girl" he said and off he went. Vincent on the other hand, followed those two as he was curious about what they were up to. As he walked a little further, he turned to the right side and there he was standing in the middle of parking lot while James was busy searching for something in the car.
Vincent was about to walk up to him when he saw a car jeering towards where Jae Won was standing and to his surprised Jae Won who was facing the car and was expected to move but for some reason, he stood frozen at where he stood and was not moving while the car was still coming at him.
With his heart almost dropping to the floor, he shouted, "Jae…move out of the way" but Jae Won was still frozen at the spot but James heard Vincent shouting which he turned and immediately stopped what he was doing and ran as fast as he could pulling Jae Won out of the way.
"Crash!!!….bang!!!"
