Chapter 123 - The Willful Miku Izayoi

"You're saying that little girl wants to be a pop star? Are you sure?"

Tony frowned as he listened to Tohka's call. He hadn't expected Miku Izayoi to make such a request.

But he quickly came up with an interesting idea and spoke to Tohka with great interest: "You handle this yourself. I'll provide you with the necessary resources, but how it's executed is up to you."

After saying that, Tony hung up the phone without giving Tohka a chance to respond—clearly, he had no intention of being involved in this matter.

"Uh… he hung up."

Hearing Tony's words, Tohka was left speechless. She had only wanted Tony to recommend a reliable agent. Instead, the guy dumped the whole thing on her. What a joke. How was she supposed to understand how this stuff worked?

"So, how did it go?"

Seeing Tohka looking a little frazzled, Miku Izayoi asked curiously. Had Tony refused outright? After all, it was her request and didn't have much to do with Tohka personally.

"It's not that… it's just that he left the whole thing to me. I only wanted him to find a trustworthy agent."

Tohka sipped her drink with a helpless look. She knew Tony wouldn't refuse something like this. Regardless of it being her request, even just considering the strength Miku Izayoi displayed that night, Tony had to take her seriously.

Someone like that, if left with nothing to do, might start causing trouble just to get attention. And since she expressed a wish to integrate, it meant she didn't have antisocial tendencies.

That alone would be enough reason for Tony not to reject the request. But the problem now was—if it involved hacking something or smashing stuff, she'd be fine. But managing something like this? That was way out of her depth.

"Ah, that's great then! Now I can really rest easy." Miku Izayoi exclaimed excitedly.

To be honest, she was worried about being stuck with an unfamiliar and unpleasant agent. In her last world, she had zero fondness for her own agent. Now that Tohka was going to help her personally, she was all in.

"Uh… okay, I guess. But I really don't know anything about this. I don't even know where to start."

Seeing Miku Izayoi's happy expression, Tohka realized she really couldn't say no now. But the issue remained—she had no idea what to do.

Then suddenly she remembered something: "Oh right, Miku, your powers should be recovered by now, right?"

"Yes, they've pretty much recovered. Look—"

As she spoke, Miku Izayoi lightly sang a few notes.

Instantly, Tohka felt the surroundings go eerily quiet.

Everyone in the restaurant suddenly had blank, empty stares and sat frozen.

"Hey hey! Cut it out! I was just about to remind you—don't use that power recklessly!" Tohka panicked.

She didn't expect Miku to use her ability so casually.

This wasn't her original world anymore—who knew what trouble might arise from doing something like that here?

"Huh? Why not? You know I can't control you, and this way, no one can interrupt our conversation."

Miku looked at Tohka in confusion. She didn't get why Tohka was so alarmed.

She had only controlled a small group of people, and it wasn't like she made them do anything.

"You should cancel it for now—and don't use that power often."

Tohka rubbed her forehead. She was worried Miku might fall back into her original story's early personality.

If that happened, she'd be in for a real headache.

But of course, she couldn't say that out loud.

Instead, she tried to reason with her: "Your power is strong, but this kind of ability easily earns resentment."

"I know a psychic whose mental energy, with machine assistance, could cover the whole world.

"You know what happened?"

"He was manipulated into detonating most of Earth's nuclear arsenal."

"Wait—seriously? If someone can spread their power globally, they must be super strong, right? How could they be controlled? Wouldn't it be easier to just kill him than to control him?"

Miku Izayoi was shocked by what Tohka said.

She instinctively released her control.

Instantly, the atmosphere in the restaurant returned to normal.

Everyone resumed what they were doing, with no memory of what had just occurred.

"This ability really is terrifying… No wonder the original Miku Izayoi was so willful."

Tohka looked around in amazement.

Now she understood why Miku had become such a willful person in the source material.

This power wasn't meant for direct combat, but it was harder to deal with than hers.

Most likely, the reason world leaders didn't move against her was out of fear— No one wanted someone like her targeting them.

If she suddenly made someone do something against their will, it could destroy their entire career.

"Are you serious? Who was that person? What happened to him?"

Miku Izayoi's eyes were filled with curiosity.

Her power could only control a localized area—there was no way she could spread her voice globally.

Even if she could, the mental strain would probably overwhelm her.

"That guy was actually a decent person. But because of what happened, he and his team chose to retreat and go off the radar. So, I don't know where he is now."

"Anyway, let's not talk about him—just be careful with your power. By the way, I remember you can also use sonic attacks, right?"

Tohka suddenly thought of Black Bolt—the leader of the Inhumans.

If she remembered correctly, his voice alone could destroy an entire city.

That was in the comics though—she wasn't sure if he existed in this world.

"Okay, I got it. Let's go. I need to think things through—figure out what to do next."

After finishing her meal, Miku Izayoi stood up and prepared to leave.

Although she wanted to become an idol again, she needed to consider the details.

She could tell Tohka had no clue how to proceed either, so she would have to rely on herself.
