"What a gentleman." Oliver sighed.
The coachman abruptly stopped the carriage, "There are wolves ahead sir!"
"My Lady I guess… we are being attacked." Oliver jumped off the carriage.
"Oliver!" Runia watched him as he left the carriage door wide open.
"Do not come out my Lady, let me protect you." Oliver told Runia as he reached the ground.
Runia's bracelet shined a silver light. "They are not attacking us"-"It seems they have no owner."-"Amazing we just now need to hope they are not too wild."- "Their eyes are gray, they have no sign of poison."- "This must mean, we can take them as our own." The soldiers discussed.
"Nature delivered you a birthday gift my Lady!" Oliver shouted, "You may come out, my Lady."
Runia stood but at the carriage door, she took her momentum ready to jump when she felt hands holding her waist. "It is not lady like for you to jump, my Lady. Let me carry you." Oliver lifted her by the waist, and helped her down.
"Thank you, Oliver." Runia bowed. Together they walk up to the wolves.
"These wolves are pure and un-scrathed, my Lady." Oliver presented the wolves to her. "Make them your own." As Oliver spoke, him along with the coachman and the four soldiers who came along knelt and bowed to Runia. She walked up to the tallest wolf, It's a female. Runia's eyes widened, she wrote the name Astra, down on the wolf's coat along with the sign of her birthday, an ellipse. The wolves all turned white, "She the leader will be named Soiny; meaning sun."
"Congratulations my Lady." They all said keeping their bows.
"You may all rise." Runia said.
Oliver stood and strode playful to Runia's side, "Nature has favorites."
"We should get going."
"Right, we should. After you, my lady." Oliver extended his hand to guide her back, while bowing slightly.
In the carriage she talks to the general about the force and all that comes with it.
The general leans back while he speaks, his gaze out the window. "The force is a magical engineering army, who serves the empire but not the royal family. The primary role of the force is to maintain peace and strength of the empire across the continent. Our spies are usually sent to other empires, and kingdoms to spy on their weaponry development and magic knowledge. Take what they can and destroy what they should."
"Is there a particular reason why the force was created?" Runia asked curiously.
The general smiled softly, his eyes sparkling at the sunset "It heads back from two hundred years ago… . It all began in the capital, when the first rebellion erupted. House Urman, was the head of the nobles. They dealt with most gatherings and balls, the imperial palace was never open to commoners. Nobles had restricted access."
"Why was it restricted?" Runia tried to catch his gaze.
The general slowly turned his head to face her. "It was believed that commoners are impure and lack nobility, they would not understand the importance of all items in the palace and might disgrace them."
"So the imperial palace was seen as a temple, and the royal family and their attendant the clergy?"
"Exactly. Then the first rebellion happened, at the time Emperor Culionos was ruling. The palace was attacked but the troops could not even pass the royal yards. It was protected by a level 100 magic that blocked their access. The imperial palace had already achieved magic, Criqtisk."
