Ren's eyes snapped open, a scream of pain leaving his mouth.
The fire inside him flared.
This wasn't like before. The Push resonance, Tithecraft, Soul Binding, those had been burned away, severed like dead branches. But this… this was different.
Unfettered Enhancement was him.
Unlike the others, it was a Divine Gift. It was the force that had carried him through a thousand battles. That had made him master skills other people spent their lives chasing after. That had kept him alive long after his body should have failed.
And now, it was being burned.
He gasped, his body arching, and the air filled with the sound of something crumbling.
His Vine Armor.
The living green weave that had shielded him for years peeled off in fragments. The leaves blackened, curled, and turned to ash, falling around him in soft flakes.
