Arthur Blackwynd flew through hell's sky like a spear.

His cloak of shadow rippled behind him, fragments of violet lightning snapping along his body as he cut through the infernal winds. Far below, the city of Dis burned quietly in the distance, its towers dark and silent under the unnatural slumber Morpheus had cast upon Hell's inhabitants.

Every so often Arthur's eyes flickered downward.

Shadow marshals still stood where he had placed them, sentinels watching the empty streets.

Guardians.

The battlefield had been completely won and secured by them.

Yet Arthur didn't slow down, for one major threat remained, the mastermind behind this war.

He could feel it.

That faint pulse of power ahead of him.

Lilith.

Just as he pushed forward

A voice entered his mind.

Calm.

'Shadow Lord.'

Arthur's violet eyes shifted slightly, though he didn't stop flying.

"Morpheus."

The voice of the Dream Lord.

'The residents of Hell remain within the Dreaming, as I promised.'

Arthur nodded faintly.

"I noticed."

Below him, entire legions of demons slept in frozen streets.

But Morpheus continued.

'However… it will not remain so forever.'

Arthur's gaze hardened slightly.

'Dreams are not prisons,' Morpheus said gently. 'Even the most profound sleep must eventually end.'

The Dream Lord's presence felt distant now,

'When they awaken, they will not do so peacefully. They will rise confused… disoriented… perhaps even frightened.'

Arthur snorted quietly.

"Demons? Frightened?"

'Yes,' Morpheus replied calmly. 'Even demons experience confusion when reality shifts beneath their feet.'

Arthur flew higher, lightning crackling around his shoulders.

'When they wake,' Morpheus continued, 'they will search for answers... After all they are dreaming of heaven as we speak. And when they find out that they have been tricked… chaos will follow.'

Arthur exhaled slowly.

"So you're telling me I should hurry, otherwise I'd be facing all of Hell."

A faint amusement echoed in the Dream King's voice.

'I am telling you, Shadow Lord… that your window of quiet grows smaller with every passing moment.'

Arthur's eyes glowed faintly violet.

"I understand."

He pushed forward harder, breaking through a storm layer.

"I'm grateful for your help, Morpheus."

Below them the Dreaming still wrapped Hell in silence.

"But honestly," Arthur added, voice calm, "even if they woke up right now… it wouldn't change much."

He flexed his hand once.

A ripple of shadow power pulsed outward.

"I've already dealt with most of the ones that could actually cause problems for me and my shadows."

The memory of Neron… Belial… Blaze… Satanus… among others flickered through his mind.

"Only one remains."

For a moment Morpheus said nothing.

Then

'Very well.'

The Dream Lord's voice softened slightly.

'In that case, my task here is complete.'

Arthur could feel the presence beginning to withdraw from the realm.

'The Dreaming will release its hold upon Hell gradually. When the first demons awaken… they will find the outcome of your battle already decided.'

Arthur gave a faint smirk.

"That's the plan."

Morpheus's voice faded like mist.

'Everything now rests in your hands, Shadow Lord.'

Arthur looked ahead into the crimson horizon.

"I know."

Lightning flickered across his eyes.

"And I'll make sure I don't screw it up."

The Dream Lord's presence vanished.

Arthur flew in silence for several more seconds

Then suddenly…

He stopped.

Hovering in the middle of Hell's storm-ridden sky.

Someone was waiting.

Ahead of him

A figure floated in the air.

Not exactly flying.

More like standing.

As if the sky itself had become solid beneath her feet.

Lilith.

Her dark wings stretched wide behind her, rippling slowly in the infernal wind. Her long black hair moved gently around her shoulders, and her crimson eyes burned softly in the light.

She looked… calm.

Almost regal.

As if she had been expecting him all along.

Arthur hovered across from her, his cloak settling behind him.

For a moment neither of them spoke.

Then Arthur tilted his head slightly.

"Well," he said flatly.

"What now, Lilith?"

She looked at him carefully.

Then smiled.

"Oh."

Her voice was smooth… amused.

"It seems you dealt with my children far more efficiently than I anticipated."

Her crimson eyes glowed faintly.

"I expected Blaze and Satanus to occupy you for a little longer.."

Arthur's gaze hardened.

"Not even a hint of sadness."

Lilith blinked slowly.

"What?"

"Your children are dead," Arthur said calmly.

"And you look like you just watched someone lose a board game."

Lilith's smile didn't fade.

"They were only two among many, two children that I had with that Wizard Shazam." she said lightly.

"My children are… plentiful."

Arthur's expression didn't change.

His hand lifted slightly.

A long spear materialized in his grasp, violet lightning snapping violently along its blade.

Behind him

Small portals of darkness began opening.

One by one.

From them emerged weapons..

His weapons

And Dozens more made of shadow.

All floating silently behind Arthur.

Each one pointed directly at Lilith.

Arthur's voice remained calm.

"How heartless of you."

He studied her carefully.

"So we're past the point of negotiation then."

Lightning crawled across his spear.

"I had a small hope this whole thing could end with a conversation."

He sighed.

"But something tells me asking nicely won't change anything anymore."

Lilith's smile widened slightly.

Then she lifted one elegant finger.

And pointed upward.

"No," she said softly.

"Because…"

Her crimson eyes glowed brighter.

"I already achieved what I wanted."

Arthur's brow furrowed slightly.

Then

The sky split open.

Not with thunder or lightning, but with something far worse.

A massive rift tore across the sky of hell, a gigantic scar of burning red light.

The clouds parted violently as the dimensional tear widened, stretching across the entire sky above them.

From its depths came a distant roar of chaotic energy.

The air trembled, hell itself seemed to tremble.

Arthur looked up slowly.

His expression darkened.

"…Shit."

The rift continued growing.

A gateway, to Earth.

Arthur did not hesitate or waste anymore time, the instant his sight returned from the sky toward Lilith. the air around him exploded with motion.

Dark portals Weapons poured out of the dark portals behind him.

Arthur's violet eyes hardened.

Then he attacked.

The weapons shot forward first.

All Launched at the same time.

They tore through the sky like artillery rounds, guided by Arthur's will through Ruler's Authority. Each blade curved through the air, aiming to kill.

Every trajectory targeted something vital.

Heart. Spine. Skull.

Lilith's crimson wings snapped shut.

Her expression sharpened instantly.

"Impatient, aren't you.."

The first sword arrived.

CLANG.

Her claws flicked outward, deflecting the blade with supernatural speed. Another came immediately after, aimed for her throat. She twisted sideways, letting it slice past her cheek.

More followed.

Arthur didn't give her a single moment to breathe.

The sky became a storm of steel.

Weapons converged from every direction, guided with impossible accuracy. They curved around her, striking from blind angles. Some descended from above while others rose from beneath.

Lilith moved like flowing blood.

Her wings beat once, and she spun through the barrage with elegant brutality.

A claw smashed one blade aside.

A wing deflected another.

She twisted through the storm, letting several pass within inches of her body.

Then

Arthur moved.

His arm snapped forward.

The spear left his hand.

BOOM.

The weapon didn't fly.

It detonated forward.

Lightning screamed around it as it tore through the air faster than sound, leaving a spiraling vortex of violet thunder behind it.

Lilith's pupils shrank.

Too fast.

She twisted violently, barely shifting her body aside, but the spear still caught her.

It grazed her shoulder.

A shallow cut.

But it was enough.

Crimson blood splashed across the air of Hell.

Lilith's expression flickered.

"…Tsk."

Arthur's eyes narrowed slightly as the spear curved through the air and returned to his hand.

Blood dripped slowly from Lilith's shoulder.

She looked down at it for a brief moment.

Then she looked back at him.

For the first time, there was caution in her gaze.

"I'm not that confident in fighting you, Shadow Lord."

Her voice remained calm.

"And I'm certainly not foolish enough to stand here and test the limits of your power."

Arthur's expression darkened, he approached her with super speed trying to capture her.

But the the next second

Lilith dissolved.

Her body burst apart into a swirling cloud of crimson mist.

Arthur's eyes sharpened instantly.

"Running again.."

The red mist shot upward toward the colossal rift splitting the sky.

Arthur raised his hand.

The air around Lilith's escaping form suddenly distorted.

Ruler's Authority clenched the sky like an invisible fist.

Gravity reversed.

The crimson mist faltered.

It slowed

then jerked backward.

Arthur's telekinetic grip dragged against it like a planet pulling on a comet.

But Lilith resisted.

The mist twisted violently as she forced herself forward.

Arthur increased the pressure.

Invisible force tightened around her like chains.

Yet she still moved.

Slowly.

But she moved anyway.

Arthur clicked his tongue softly.

"Persistent woman."

His body shot forward immediately.

The air cracked apart as he accelerated, chasing the fleeing mist with terrifying speed.

Then something caught his attention.

Arthur's eyes shifted.

Figures were rising from Hell below.

Hundreds of them.

Demons.

Winged monstrosities burst from the burning cities and wastelands beneath, climbing into the sky in chaotic swarms.

Arthur frowned slightly.

"They woke up already…?"

Then he looked closer.

His eyes narrowed.

"…No."

These were different.

Their movements were wild.

And uncontrolled.

They weren't organized like the demons he had fought earlier.

They were feral.

Lilith's laughter suddenly echoed inside his mind.

A smooth, mocking voice.

"You noticed."

Arthur's expression hardened.

Lilith's voice continued.

"Those are my creation as well."

More demons poured into the sky.

Thousands now.

Their forms were horrible. Some had too many limbs, others moved like flying carcasses stitched together by hatred alone.

Their screams filled the burning sky.

Lilith's voice dripped with amusement.

"They are the mindless beasts of Hell, that I hid away. Even from you and the eyes of Dream lord."

Her tone grew darker.

"Demons that exist only to kill. Creatures born from hatred and cruelty."

Arthur watched them surge upward toward the rift.

Toward Earth.

"They spend eternity tormenting the damned," Lilith whispered inside his mind.

Her laughter echoed again.

"But now…"

The swarm grew larger.

"…they will torment your world instead."

Arthur's eyes sharpened instantly.

Below him

his shadow marshals were already reacting.

Ultra erupted from the clouds like a meteor, violet energy blazing from his body.

Bellion streaked upward like a violet comet.

Galatea tore through the sky behind them.

Arthur gave a single mental command.

No words needed.

His army understood.

Intercept.

The marshals surged toward the rising demons.

Arthur exhaled slowly.

His gaze returned to the fleeing crimson mist ahead of him.

Still slithering toward the rift.

Still escaping.

His grip tightened around his spear.

"This woman…"

His voice was cold.

Arthur accelerated.

The sky cracked apart as he shot forward, chasing the crimson mist toward the monstrous rift tearing open above Hell.

And Arthur knew. If Lilith crossed that threshold alongside the demon horde…

Earth would suffer the consequences.
