A level 111 Mewtwo plus a level 113 Shiny Rayquaza—two Forbidden-class beings—facing off against a level 114 Hoopa.
Though, Shiny Rayquaza was still one level below Hoopa, and at the Forbidden-class, a one-level difference meant an even greater gap in strength than a one-level difference at the First-class Legendary tier.
And even with Mewtwo, the situation remained unfavorable, as Mewtwo was still three levels below Hoopa, making the disparity even greater.
Thinking of this, Julian gave a soft shout.
"Mewtwo, Rayquaza!"
As Julian's words fell, a powerful, mysterious energy radiated from within his body, transforming into two beams of light that shot into Mewtwo and Shiny Rayquaza respectively.
The two Pokémon were enveloped in radiant light, and the next second, as the light shattered, both Pokémon reappeared before the eyes of people from every nation watching the live broadcast.
Only now, both Pokémon had undergone dramatic changes.
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza had arrived.
After Mega Evolving, both of their levels increased by one.

After evolving, on top of their increased levels and strength, both of their combat power was further boosted by another fifty percent.
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza charged toward Hoopa with explosive sonic booms.
The terrifying air currents generated by their movement directly blasted away the First-class Legendaries that were locked in fierce battles nearby.
"Don't underestimate me!"
Hoopa roared as it unleashed a Dark Pulse from its mouth.
Mega Rayquaza responded without the slightest hesitation, firing a Dragon Pulse of its own.
BOOOM!!!
The two attacks collided violently, and an earth-shattering shockwave erupted, sweeping across the battlefield like a catastrophic tsunami.
Before the smoke had even cleared, Mega Rayquaza had already burst through it. At the same time, Mega Mewtwo X used Teleport to appear directly in front of Hoopa.
Psycho Cut!
With a deafening impact, the psychic blade slammed into Hoopa, sending it flying back several hundred meters before it finally managed to stop itself.
Mega Mewtwo X's attack alone still wasn't powerful enough to inflict serious damage.
But Mega Rayquaza was already right behind it.

With a ripping sound, the Dragon Claw raked from Hoopa's neck all the way down to its abdomen, leaving three deep gashes.
Cries of pain continuously poured from Hoopa's mouth.

The intense pain caused Hoopa to lose focus for a brief instant.
Seizing the opportunity, Mega Mewtwo X's overwhelming psychic power drilled into Hoopa's mind like a massive drill before detonating.
The psychic explosion inside its consciousness felt like countless needles piercing directly into its brain.
Mental pain was far worse than physical pain.
Now Hoopa was suffering from both physical and mental injuries at the same time.
The moment Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza entered the battle, they had already seized the upper hand.
Julian quietly let out a sigh of relief before shifting his attention to the other First-class Legendaries.
Xerneas had already fallen into a disadvantage against Yveltal.
After absorbing an enormous amount of the power of death, Yveltal's strength had reached the peak of the First-class Legendary tier, while Xerneas remained only in the late-stage.
The powers of life and death naturally countered one another—so whichever one was stronger suppressed the other. And now that the power of death was stronger, it naturally overwhelmed the power of life.
Meanwhile, Kyogre and Groudon remained evenly matched.
However, in terms of momentum, Kyogre clearly had the advantage, while Groudon looked noticeably lacking in confidence.
After all, both the normal Rayquaza and the even stronger Shiny Rayquaza were fighting on Julian's side, meaning both Rayquaza were in the same camp as Kyogre.

All three members of the Tao Trio were at the peak of the First-class Legendary tier. The Creation Trio, meanwhile, were all in the late-stage.
Based on their level difference alone, the Tao Trio should have completely overwhelmed them.
However, the abilities wielded by the Creation Trio were simply too powerful.
Palkia controlled space, Dialga controlled time, and Giratina controlled the Reverse World.
Space, Time, and the Reverse World—these three powers were extraordinarily troublesome to deal with.
For example, right now, when faced with Zekrom's attack, Palkia simply retreated into a different dimension, rendering Zekrom's attack completely ineffective.
Dialga's power over time allowed it to return to the past, travel into the future, and even freeze the present.
Although it had just been injured by Reshiram, the moment the power of time flowed through its body, not only were all of its wounds completely healed, but its aura also returned to its peak state.

By comparison, the other First-class Legendaries, who were merely born from the natural world, were effectively a generation below them in terms of lineage.
Viewed from that perspective, it wasn't so surprising that the Tao Trio had yet to defeat the Creation Trio.
