Being stared at by sixteen Champions—never mind ordinary people, even if you were a Champion yourself, having so many peers of the same level fix their eyes on you would inevitably make anyone somewhat uncomfortable.
But Lyle's expression didn't change in the slightest; he wasn't even the least bit nervous.
This guy's ability to control his expression was really quite impressive, though it was also largely due to the fact that he held a powerful trump card. Otherwise, he would have run away long ago.
The Champions surrounding Julian were all shrewd individuals, not impulsive like the Volkarian Champion.
None of them knew what Lyle's trump card was. So, charging in blindly would only make them the first to die.
"Yveltal is the First-class Legendary worshipped by your organization. And I can sense the aura of a First-class Legendary on you. Are you planning to summon Yveltal, Lyle?"
Julian's gaze was fixed on the other party as he gently stroked Jirachi's head in his arms. The little one was quite carefree, still munching on a fried chicken leg. Of course, Celebi on Julian's head was no different.
'Summon Yveltal? Is this for real?!'
Julian's words sent a shock through all the surrounding Champions. Yveltal was a First-class Legendary, and one known for embodying death at that.
It was among the earliest First-class Legendaries discovered by humans, appearing on this planet alongside other Pokémon centuries ago. Its very arrival had caused massive casualties.
Wherever it went, it spread the aura of death.
Back then, Yveltal flew a full circle around the planet. Everywhere it passed, trees withered, rivers dried up, the earth cracked open—and mass death followed.
According to statistics, that single event had led to the deaths of over 500 million humans, with the number of Pokémon casualties being incalculable.
Yveltal had flown over dozens of countries, including Drakoria, Volkaria, and Celestria, leaving unmatched devastation.
And after that, Yveltal had never appeared again.
But its name was etched forever into human history—it remained the First-class Legendary responsible for the greatest number of human casualties, bar none.
Known as the God of Death by humans.
Whether in existing documents or ancient stone tablets, there were many descriptions of Yveltal, and nearly all those descriptions revolved around its connection to death.
And now Julian was claiming that Lyle could summon Yveltal—how could the Champions not be shocked and enraged?
The infamous God of Death had far more fear and deterrence associated with it than any other First-class Legendary.
No wonder this guy wasn't afraid at all.
Most of the Champions believed Julian's words because Lyle's composure was far too unnerving—it was clear that he had to be holding a terrifying trump card.
Moreover, the Y Organization worshipped Yveltal, the God of Death, which aligned perfectly with what Julian had just said.
Although it was hard to believe that Lyle could summon Yveltal, the precedent of Julian commanding a First-class Legendary without repercussions made the idea somewhat easier to accept by comparison.

> "Yveltal? No way… Does this guy really have that ability?"
> "If that's really his trump card, then Champion Walker is in serious danger!"
> "Why panic? Don't forget, Champion Walker can summon Kyogre!"
> "Oh, right. They have Yveltal, but we have Kyogre!"
> "But Kyogre needs time to arrive, no? Besides, the whole world knows Champion Walker can call Kyogre. Surely the enemy is aware too—they must have taken countermeasures, right?"
---
The last comment instantly silenced the whole comment section.
Indeed, Lyle was the leader of the Y Organization—he couldn't be a fool. His greatest trump card might be Yveltal, but Julian also had Kyogre, a First-class Legendary. If they canceled each other out, his ultimate move would be effectively neutralized.
"So, what's your second trump card?" Julian narrowed his eyes slightly. He had, of course, considered the same points the netizens raised.
As he spoke, he took out the scale Kyogre had given him.
Seeing this Lyle laughed, "Hahaha, Julian, you underestimate me too much. I know you can summon Kyogre, but right now, the entire land of Babath has been isolated by Yveltal's power of death."
"With this death energy shrouding everything, Kyogre won't be able to sense the scale in your hand."
'The power of death?'
Julian looked up at the gloomy, grayish sky. He had noticed something off about the color earlier but hadn't paid it much mind at the time.
Jirachi in his arms chimed in, "Julian, what he says seems to be true."
Julian nodded, not doubting Lyle's words. After all, severing the connection between Kyogre and the scale was the only way to prevent him from summoning it.
But enveloping the entirety of Babath in death energy—that was an enormous undertaking, and certainly not an easy feat to accomplish.
Clearly, the enemy had prepared extensively, specifically waiting for the World Youth Championship to be held in Babath. And with one of Babath's Champions being their people…
With inside cooperation, Lyle had smoothly blanketed Babath in death energy.
Initially, when the surrounding Champions heard that Lyle could summon Yveltal, they were nervous but not overly panicked, because they knew Julian could summon Kyogre.
But now, the other side claimed that Julian could no longer summon Kyogre.
Seeing the surrounding Champions all looking at him, Julian nodded calmly. "He's right. The death energy has severed the connection between Kyogre and the scale."
Upon hearing this, the Champions' expressions instantly changed.
The Champion from Maplia urgently asked, "Champion Walker, is there no other way?"
Julian shook his head. "Unless we clear a path through the surrounding death energy."
"But that's extremely difficult to achieve."
This death energy was the exclusive power of Yveltal. Even though they were Champions, they were up against a First-class Legendary—its power wasn't something mere Champions could dispel.
"What's wrong? Are you starting to feel despair?" Lyle's expression grew increasingly frenzied, even bordering on madness. "But it's alright. I'll have the entire population of Babath accompany you in death. Doesn't that make you happy? Excited?"
As he spoke, Lyle raised his hands to the sky and shouted, "Today, I will use the lives of sixteen Champions and the hundred million people of Babath to announce to the world the return of Yveltal, the God of Death!"
"Leader Lyle, you never mentioned destroying Babath to me before!" Watano, standing beside him, paled dramatically. Although he was indeed one of the three deputy leaders of the Y Organization, he still had a sense of belonging to Babath.
The idea that Lyle intended to annihilate the entire nation was something Watano struggled to accept.
"Watano, are you defying me?" Lyle turned to him, his eyes emitting an eerie black glow. His expression was eerily calm, yet it exerted immense pressure on Watano.
Watano instinctively shook his head, "I wouldn't dare."
