Chapter 414 - Shaymin

The strength of Shaymin's explosion depends on the type of pollutants it inhales.

As long as Shaymin is present in the garden, there's no need to worry about the growth of flowers and trees.

In fact, Shaymin can even tackle pollution to some extent, bringing life back to areas that were once dead.

It's like a cute, thoughtful, and incredibly useful little angel.

After Shaymin's simple action, the noise caused by those exploding insects just moments ago vanished instantly.

The scorched earth transformed back into a lively grassland right before everyone's eyes; it was almost like magic, hard to believe.

Beyond crossed his arms, glancing at Shaymin perched on Larry's shoulder before shifting his gaze to the land that should have remained burnt and barren.

From just this one move, Beyond could already imagine countless ways to use this ability.

The power to revive life is extremely practical, especially when it comes to the many unique plants of the Dark Continent.

Many of these plants are rare across the six continents and have special effects; take the legendary vanilla, for example, known to cure all diseases.

These plants are powerful and hard to come by, but the real challenge isn't just acquiring them.

Even if you're willing to pay a high price and manage to get a small amount, the real difficulty lies in making the most out of them.

Since these plants are so precious, using them directly often feels wasteful.

The usual approach is to cultivate more plants to increase their numbers gradually.

However, this method doesn't work for Dark Continent plants.

The climates and conditions on the six continents simply don't meet their growth requirements; they seem to only thrive in the Dark Continent itself.

This conclusion came after numerous studies and countless failed attempts with plants brought back from there.

At one point, Beyond himself brought back an alchemical plant named "Metalion."

Since there was only one specimen, he tried to cultivate it, but ultimately failed.

If Larry had been there to help back then, maybe the plant could have been successfully propagated as hoped.

Beyond let out a sigh as he pondered.

"Is it really possible to revive the earth?"

Even a faint trace of life aura seemed enough to make creatures feel vibrant and full of vitality.

Ging gazed at the dramatically transformed landscape in the distance, sensing the subtle changes in the environment around them.

Without much effort, they could see plants suddenly sprouting right before their eyes.

Despite wearing protective suits, they couldn't shake the impression that these once-dead trees were now thriving in spring, making their bodies feel lighter and energized.

Among the group, Miru's sensitivity stood out the most.

Thanks to her unique nen abilities, she could pick up even the slightest shifts in her surroundings.

This grassland was teeming with life; otherwise, there wouldn't be so many flowers and lush green grass.

But now, the life aura surrounding 01 surged dramatically, becoming several times stronger.

Compared to this vibrant scene, the land before had been barren and broken.

As she tuned into the sounds of nature, she could clearly feel the plants and earth expressing their gratitude.

All of this was for the beast resting on Larry's shoulder.

To these plants and the earth, Shaymin was like a god, an entity worthy of worship and protection.

But that reverence wasn't shared by all.

Some extraordinary plants and even certain dangers viewed Shaymin differently.

Instead of respect, his power sparked their greed, making them want to capture him.

A little further from the meadow where everyone was resting lay a field of flowers in full bloom, their colors vibrant and varied.

Though the flowers were all the same species, they differed in size and hue.

Surrounding the flower field were three large trees with thick branches and leaves.

At first glance, these trees didn't seem particularly impressive, only slightly larger than average and smaller than the ones in the purple forest.

But a closer look revealed something unusual about the soil beneath them and the flowers.

Unlike the typical grassland soil, this earth showed signs of constant disturbance, as if it had been dug up repeatedly.

Though everyone noticed the flowers and the trees from a distance, no one paid them much attention at the time.

They had agreed not to pass through that area as they moved forward, knowing it was too risky to get too close.

Their caution made sense.

Without Shaymin's presence, things would have mostly stayed calm.

But Shaymin's arrival changed everything, attracting hidden dangers lurking nearby.

In the dark, unknown underground, countless roots were growing wildly.

After a few moments, Miru's ears twitched slightly, and her calm expression shifted once again.

"Something's coming, underground!" she warned.

Everyone immediately braced themselves, sensing trouble whenever Miru spoke.

Despite their unease, they didn't stop moving.

They spread out their "circles," focusing especially on scanning below the surface.

These circles, like delicate foam films, extended underground, quickly revealing the danger Miru had sensed.

Before anyone could react, they suddenly felt the ground shift beneath them.

Their expressions changed as they sprang into the air, all alert to what was happening below.

At the exact moment they jumped, thick black branches burst through the soil like bamboo shoots shooting skyward.

These branches writhed wildly in the air, resembling black dragons, and faint traces of a dark aura clung to them.

"Pop, pop..."

The sound was like pulling up carrots, but louder and more intense.

In an instant, the once peaceful ground was riddled with holes, as if thousands of thick needles had pierced it.

"Bang! Bang!"

The branches stretched toward them relentlessly, seeming determined to strike.

Miru gripped her long knife, casually slicing off one branch as she backed away.

"How many of these things are there? We keep retreating, but new branches keep growing from the ground!"

As she spoke, she noticed a wisp of black mist rising from the broken branch.

The mist coiled tightly around it, and suddenly, the branch began growing rapidly, as if fueled by some mysterious power.

"How is this even possible?!"

Miru struggled to speak, as if a fishbone was stuck in her throat, making it hard to form a complete sentence.

Panic was clear on her face as a shadow loomed over her, a branch that had suddenly grown into a massive tree.

No one could believe that just moments ago, it had been nothing more than a small branch.

In the blink of an eye, it had shot up from half a human's length to a towering tree about four or five stories tall.

If anyone had been told this, they wouldn't have believed it.

"Wow, this growth is even faster than a compressed towel," Larry muttered, staring at the impossible tree with a flicker of curiosity in his eyes.

The tree wasn't just growing rapidly; it looked strange in every way.
