Chapter 408 - Harvest

Larry wasn't completely sure about the situation because there seemed to be very few flowers in this purple forest.

He wasn't certain if these strange purple bee-like creatures actually produced honey.

After noticing Larry's hesitation, everyone agreed silently and quietly moved away, taking a slightly different path to avoid conflict.

Indeed, there were many purple bees around, and if they had rushed in carelessly, it could have led to injuries.

But the key was that they didn't need to fight them at all.

After circling around for a while, Larry and his group had already left the hive area.

The hive itself appeared calm, with no signs of disturbance.

Suddenly, two figures appeared inside the hive.

Gardevoir unleashed a powerful pink aura, creating a strong gust of wind within the hive.

Each purple bee was controlled by this pink aura, frozen mid-air.

Even if the bees tried to rush and attack the intruders, Gardevoir's power held them firmly in place.

These purple bees were quite strong, ranging from A-level to some even reaching A+, but against Gardevoir, they were like statues, unable to move.

With a slight raise of its arm, Gardevoir caused many blocks of honey inside the hive to separate and float in the air.

Gengar, as its partner, wasted no time.

It suddenly opened its wide mouth, and countless honey blocks flew into it smoothly, like baby birds returning to their nest.

Together, Gardevoir and Gengar repeated the process with honey from two other trees.

Some honey was left behind, and none of the purple bees were harmed.

This was Larry's idea of "sustainable development," let the bees stay and keep producing honey, take only a portion.

A portion regularly for profit, and become a new kind of beekeeper.

Just a few moments after Gardevoir and Gengar quickly collected the honey, they vanished before the bees could even react.

A large amount of honey was taken with them.

Far from the hive, Larry glanced at the fading shadows and smiled slightly.

He hadn't expected these purple bees to actually produce honey, though it looked unusual with its purple color.

This was purple poison honey.

These purple bees lived year-round in the poisonous forests at the edge of the Dark Continent.

They had a strong resistance to various poisons, and their honey was rare, with multiple beneficial properties.

The purple poison honey offers a range of benefits, from detoxifying the body and boosting aura to improving physical fitness, enhancing skin appearance, and even slowing down aging to some extent.

'On the Dark Continent, danger and hope are always intertwined.'

The purple forest itself is incredibly hazardous, with most creatures keeping their distance by at least three feet.

Even if someone ventures deep inside, they have to stay alert against all kinds of threats.

Yet despite all these risks, the purple poison honey produced there is absolutely worth the effort.

The purple poison honey is clearly the shining hope of the purple forest, almost rivaling Vanilla, which is already well-known for its healing properties.

The key difference is that vanilla, being a herbal medicine, mainly focuses on curing diseases, with other benefits coming as a bonus.

Purple Poison Honey, on the other hand, offers a broader range of effects.

It not only neutralizes many poisons but also boosts aura, improves physical strength, and even slows down aging.

These benefits align with what honey generally provides, but as a product from the Dark Continent, its effects are notably remarkable.

After many days of making progress, Larry and his group finally managed to pass through the poisonous forest that most creatures avoid.

As they stepped beyond the last few scattered trees, their eyes opened wide at the sight before them, a vast, endless grassland stretched out, quite different from the dense forest they had just left behind.

Instead of towering trees, the terrain was covered with thick weeds.

Yet, something about this grassland felt off; it wasn't just an ordinary meadow.

The majority of the weeds were a vibrant emerald green, with faint droplets of water hanging from their tips.

But scattered among them were patches of yellow, withered weeds that stood out sharply against the lush greenery.

These plants weren't short either, most reached about half a person's height, and some even grew as tall as an average adult.

It was easy to imagine how someone could lose their way in such dense, towering grass.

The thick growth made it hard to see what might be hiding within, blocking any clear view or useful information about the area.

Among the weeds, there were also flowers of various shapes and a few large trees visible in the distance.

"On the surface, this place seems much safer than the forest we just came through," Miru said softly, glancing around.

But everyone understood the unspoken meaning behind her words.

Just because something appears safe doesn't mean it truly is, especially here on the Dark Continent.

In a place like this, true safety is nearly impossible.

The more "safe" a place looks, the more confusing and dangerous it might actually be, demanding even greater caution and vigilance from those who pass through.

"Yeah, it seems safe enough," Pariston said, his voice calm but his eyes distant as he glanced at the grass swaying gently in the breeze.

There was something unusual about the scene, something subtle that caught his attention, a strange flicker in his gaze.

Hearing this, everyone fell silent and stared out over the vast grassland.

The only sound was the soft rustling of the grass in the wind.

At first glance, nothing seemed out of place, but the vastness of the grassland brought on a heavy feeling, almost like a warning that something bad might happen if they stepped further in.

After a moment, Beyond sighed and shrugged, sounding resigned.

"Well, the Dark Continent is strange, that much we already knew. We just have to face it head-on. But rushing in blindly isn't the way. We need to be prepared."

"Like figuring out what those flowers are for?" someone asked, following Beyond's gesture toward a cluster of flowers standing taller than the surrounding grass.

Their colors and shapes were different, making them stand out.

The flowers had long green stalks topped with large disks.

Around the edges were dark yellow petals, and in the center was a deep, almost black center that was hard to make out clearly.

"Um...sunflowers?" Ging squinted, voicing what everyone was thinking.

The flowers did look a lot like sunflowers, but none of them believed these were ordinary plants.

"They're moving," Ging said after watching carefully.

"The flower disks are slowly turning to follow the sun, but it's subtle."

His frown deepened; the flowers gave him an odd feeling, like something familiar but he couldn't quite place why.

"Alright, here's the plan," Beyond said.

"We'll pass by these sunflowers but keep our distance. The grass seems to pick up on movement in circles, so be cautious. Miru, your nen should be working normally now, right?"

"Yes," Miru replied confidently.
