The corpses probably didn't realize they were being watched.
Even if they had rushed over and seen the purple bees, they wouldn't have thought these creatures were that strong.
When they met Waterloo, the purple bees were already closing in from behind, leaving the corpses with no choice but to move forward.
Their intelligence couldn't be very high, after all, they were just small insects controlling the bodies.
"Everyone, ignore the corpses!" Beyond shouted.
"Focus on the bee-like creatures ahead!" he called to those still fighting nearby.
Though puzzled at first, everyone quickly cleared the battlefield.
The corpses that had been fighting just moments ago charged forward without glancing back.
If they had once planned to deal with these strange creatures, now their only goal was to escape.
With the crowd out of the way, the corpses' speed surged, rushing forward like a tide.
On both sides, the team silently watched as the purple bees pursued the fleeing corpses.
Seeing how fast the bees moved, most people instinctively took a step back, their breaths catching slightly.
It wasn't an exaggeration to say that if the bees attacked, several team members wouldn't react in time.
The bees were simply too close.
They could only hope their protective suits were strong enough to block any assault.
Fortunately, the purple bees seemed uninterested in them and focused entirely on hunting the parasites.
In just a flash, the corpses and purple bees disappeared from sight.
"Did you find anything?" Ging asked Larry, holding a core wrapped in colloid with a parasite inside.
Larry nodded.
"I've got a rough idea. These purple bees seem to be at the top of the food chain in this forest," he explained.
"There's a clear predator-prey relationship here. The bees regularly hunt the parasites and are familiar with how the parasites infect corpses. They're very skilled at extracting the core from the bodies, and their thin mouthparts are perfectly suited for it."
He added, "That's why they've been chasing the parasites and ignoring us completely."
Ging considered this, then said, "It's also possible our safety suits are masking our presence, making us less noticeable to them."
Larry spoke slowly but clearly enough for everyone to hear, explaining that without safety suits to mask their breath, the purple bees might turn their weapons on them and attack.
He glanced back at the direction they had come from, then ahead to where the bees had appeared.
After days of traveling, they were now near the center of the vast purple forest.
It was natural to encounter both purple bees and parasites in this area, but this raised an important question: were these six purple bees the only ones in the entire forest?
Since bees grow slowly, wouldn't these six have offspring somewhere?
Larry thought for a moment before sharing his theory.
"There are probably more purple bees, or their young, deeper inside the forest," he said.
"They're likely at the top of the food chain here."
What Larry didn't mention aloud was that these purple bees reminded him of a Pokemon he had seen before.
Like the bees, that Pokemon was covered in sharp thorns, had a purple color, was poisonous, and could fly.
It was one of the Ultra Beast, the Naganadel.
Suddenly, a notification chimed in Larry's mind.
"Ding! The Pokemon has been bred!"
He casually told everyone to clean up the battlefield, especially to collect any bones they could gather, while he focused on the newly bred Pokemon.
When the creature appeared, Larry's eyes widened in surprise.
It resembled what he had guessed but wasn't exactly the same, it was the ancestor of the Naganadel, also an Ultimate Beast but much cuter.
This Pokemon was called Poipole.
Its shape was somewhat humanoid, like a small child with a large head.
On top of its head were three tubular poison needles, with the middle one being noticeably larger than the others.
In the animation, Poipole could even stand upside down and use its poison needles to draw graffiti on walls or the ground.
It had short arms and a relatively long tail, with oval eyes and a small tail tip.
As its name suggests, Poipole was a poison-type Pokemon, embodying the dangerous yet fascinating nature of the purple forest's inhabitants.
Poipole's head is filled with venom, which it can shoot out from the poison needle at its tip.
In the Pokemon world, it's known as a friendly Ultra Beast from another dimension and can even be chosen as a companion on a journey.
It sprays venom from the needle on its head at opponents while letting out a playful giggle.
Poipole is an emotional Pokemon; it's said that if you spend enough time with it, it can even understand human language.
In the original story, Ash owns a Poipole, and their daily interactions show just how cute it is.
When Larry watched Pokemon Sun and Moon, he dreamed of having such an adorable Poipole himself.
Now, in the world of Hunter x Hunter, that dream has finally come true.
However, Larry was a bit surprised to find an Ultra Beast living in this purple forest.
Although the purple bee that recently appeared resembles Poipole's evolved form, the Naganadel, Larry still doubts it's actually an Ultra Beast.
After all, the last Ultra Beast he obtained, the first one he ever had, was bred in the Ferry Hall.
Following certain restrictions and oaths, new information about Poipole was released: it's called Poipole, with the feature "Beast Boost" and a Poison attribute.
Its strength ranks at B-level, and it knows moves like Poison Jab, Fell Stinger, Trick, and Venoshock.
Poipole's base stat total is 420, so Larry was not surprised by its B level strength.
It's not in its final form yet, and he didn't expect high power at this stage.
For him, it would mainly serve as a mascot to fulfill his long-held wish.
That was Larry's thought just moments before Poipole sent out a message full of
Urgent hunger, as if it wanted to devour something.
Stunned, Larry released Poipole.
A soft white light flashed, revealing the alien-child-like creature in front of him.
Its light blue eyes curved gently as it flew around Larry playfully.
Even though Poipole has no wings, it could still float freely in the air.
People nearby noticed a shift in aura and glanced over, spotting the small figure lingering near Larry.
They immediately recognized it as Larry's nen best and quickly returned to their own tasks.
Only a few people sensed that something was off about Larry's nen best.
After Poipole appeared, it gave off a soft white glow, and the air around it seemed to be gently drawn in.
But it wasn't just the air, it was also sucking in the toxic elements within it.
Was it absorbing the poison from the purple light?
Larry watched Poipole floating there and immediately understood where its desire came from.
