They all focused their aura, which surged around them like a Mega Transformation, waves of power rippling and flowing. The dead branches and decayed leaves beneath their feet shattered instantly under the pressure, then were swept away by the gusts of wind.

Just as they braced themselves, a series of sounds came from the tree canopy above. Suddenly, rotten corpses fell like dumplings, and a foul-smelling liquid rained down, turning the forest's eerie beauty into something disgusting.
Larry glanced at the falling bodies without surprise, as if he'd expected this. When the corrosive liquid hit the ground, it hissed and produced wisps of white smoke, proving just how acidic it was, it could even eat through rock.
The fallen corpses belonged to birds, though many were too decayed to recognize. The few identifiable ones were owls and other large birds.
Seeing those bird remains, Ging's eyes lit up with understanding. He'd suspected as much when the rotten corpses appeared on the ground, if there were decayed creatures crawling below, then surely there would be rotten
As for the ones flying above, rotten meat hardly affected their activities at all.
Ging's guess proved to be spot on.
After a brief moment of surprise, everyone looked up, but all they could see was a shadow hidden in the shade of a tree.
Under the purple light, it was clear the figure was perched on a branch, seemingly motionless.
Then, without warning, five arrows made of dark aura shot through the air.

This was the first Pokemon Larry had ever bred in this forest.

Its plumage was green, while its body was white.

Its head feathers are a different color, darker than the rest, almost like it's wearing a hood.
This particular Decidueye isn't from the Hisui area, so Larry is quite pleased with how it looks.
Overall, it truly embodies the role of an archer in the forest.
Its archer title comes from its unique ability: it shoots feather arrows hidden within its wings, using them like a bow and arrow, hence the name "Decidueye."
When it's determined not to miss, it tightens the vines on its head to focus completely.
Its accuracy is incredible; it can pierce a tiny stone from 100 meters away and can even hit targets a full kilometer out.
The time it takes from drawing an arrow to firing is only about 0.1 seconds, allowing it to strike vital points before the enemy even realizes what's happening.
That's why most people, except a few, struggle to see the Decidueye's movements clearly.
Its attack speed is lightning-fast.
It can completely suppress its own breath and launch attacks while remaining unseen.
Often, it soars high into the sky, then dives down spinning rapidly, shooting through multiple targets in quick succession.
As for its stats, the Decidueye is a long-range fighter with Grass and Ghost attributes, boasting an A strength rating.
It's skilled in techniques like Spirit Shackle, Shadow Sneak, Sword's Dance, Frenzy Plant, and Grass Pledge.
Being part of the three great families, it naturally masters the Grass Pledge, matching its attributes perfectly.
This also means it can team up with the Primarina to combine the Grass Pledge and Water Pledge, turning the battlefield into a wetland and slowing opponents down by 75%.
Beyond its natural abilities, Larry's Decidueye has some hidden traits too.
Being a long-range fighter, it can perform all its moves without physical contact, which in the game means it isn't affected by counterattacks that rely on melee damage.
In reality, especially once it has trained its mind, the Decidueye can stay hidden in darkness and strike enemies from afar.
This refers to its melee attacks, which it can execute from a distance much farther than normal, making it a truly deadly sniper in the forest.
Take the Brave Bird, for example, usually, the Pokemon charges headfirst at its opponent, using its whole body to ram into them.
But the Decidueye doesn't need to do that.
It just has to find the right spot to strike, and then it can attack enemies from a distance.
Of course, that distance is limited at first, but as the Decidueye gets stronger, it can attack from farther away.
At a high enough level, it might even be able to take down foes thousands of miles away, almost like delivering a divine judgment.
Being a ghost-type Pokemon, the Decidueye can appear and vanish in any shadow, making it a deadly assassin.
The only drawback is its lack of raw power; even at an A-level, it's still a bit weak.
However, it overcomes this through the use of Sword's Dance, which boosts its strength.
Plus, every time it hunts corpses, it gains more experience, steadily improving.
When it moves at extreme speed, you'd expect a loud rush breaking through the air, but the Decidueye moves silently, tracing strange curves as it shoots.
It's an expert at curved shots, arrows that follow impossible arcs to hit their targets.
In this case, it pierced five bodies running ahead, but interestingly, it didn't target the usual heads.
Normally, destroying the head would be the go-to strategy against corpses, but the Decidueye learned from experience with bird-like corpses that attacking the head doesn't stop them, since it's not the brain controlling their movements.
After many attempts, it discovered their weak point was actually in the chest, the middle of their bodies.
After powering up with Sword's Dance, its arrows grew much stronger, piercing one corpse after another.
