Chapter 360 - Tying Up Loose Ends

So really, there's just about a week before they set off.

He can also use this time to tie up some loose ends.

He's been too lenient letting the remaining three of the "Seven Deadly Sins" roam free until now, it's time to send them to face their reckoning.

Before the meeting, Worm even sent him a message warning that Pride had already started gathering people to get revenge.

After that, there was no news from him.

He was probably shaken by his poor showing at the New Top Five meeting and had retreated into cowardice once again.

Even though he wasn't there, all the top five Nen users agreed that none of them were as strong as Larry.

That alone was enough to scare him off and make him abandon any thoughts of revenge.

Later on, after Larry defeated Jade and the Ant King, Pride didn't dare to challenge him anymore.

He even admitted that he was furious about losing to someone so young, a "young man."

Now, Pride could only take pride in the fact that he was beaten by Larry.

After all, Larry's current status far surpasses what it was back at the Moros Ruins.

Back then, he was just an unknown young man, with no real reputation.

He had already killed two members, which naturally hurt his pride.

But now, Larry's reputation has soared to its peak; he's the most celebrated chief figure across the six continents, someone "everyone in the world knows."

His list of titles is long and prestigious, including names like [The World's Strongest] and [World's Strongest Mind Eliminator].

As Larry's fame grew, so did his pride.

He could even boast that it was an honor for a member to be defeated by him.

But only a few remaining members truly understood the fear they lived with daily.

They were terrified that one day they might just close their eyes and never open them again.

Now, however, they no longer had to live in constant panic because Larry would help them "escape from the sea of suffering."

Suddenly, Ging asked.

"By the way, if you're headed to the Dark Continent, what about your position as president?"

Larry shrugged it off easily.

"That's simple. Mizaistom is here, and after Pariston leaves, Childo or someone else will probably step up as vice president. With them handling things, it doesn't matter if I'm around or not. And if there's an emergency, I can always come back quickly."

He waved his hand dismissively. This was no big deal to him.

"Honestly, when the old man was in office, there wasn't much for me to do anyway. He left everything to Doumianren and Pariston. Besides, I'm the president elected by everyone."

You could say Larry was the perfect candidate in every way.

Ging kept marveling at just how overwhelming the vote results had been when they first came in.

Out of over 600 members in the Hunter Association, nearly 500 had voted for Larry.

Even now, thinking back, Ging was still amazed.

It was a clear sign of how popular Larry was, and everyone expected him to become president.

But there was one thing in Larry's words that really caught Ging's attention: the idea that even if you went to the Dark Continent, you could still return to the Six Continents quickly.

That surprised Ging deeply.

Being able to move freely across the Six Continents through the Internet world was impressive, but to travel to the Dark Continent and come back in a short time, that was on a whole different level.

That ability was far more valuable, and frankly terrifying.

It truly suited Larry.

"You don't have to step down as president. I'm the one who's quitting my position in the Twelve Zodiacs," Ging said.

"I've had enough of it. Constant meetings are such a hassle. It's perfect timing, too, I can head to the Dark Continent later and finally stop being this 'pig' stuck here."

He exhaled lightly, feeling hopeful about the future.

Larry smirked.

"Though there are plenty of meetings, you don't seem to attend many of them, right? And even though you mentioned Pariston, you're basically the same type of person as him. Without the old man's influence, you probably feel there's no reason to stick around either."

Ging's breath hitched a little as his eyes met Larry's, eyes that seemed to see right through him.

He let out a helpless laugh.

"Yeah, I can't hide it from you. From the start, I knew you were no ordinary guy. That's why, without the old man and with the chance to go to the Dark Continent, I'm just going to quit this useless role. Pariston's going to give up more than me, he's stepping down not just as the 'Rat' but also as vice president. So how could I possibly hesitate?"

"My goal has always been simple," Ging said with a spark in his eyes. "It's exploration, the thrill of discovering the unknown, the new... even the dangerous!"

He smiled confidently.

"That's what being a hunter is all about."

Larry gave Ging a curious look, a bit surprised by his words.

"Have you changed or something? How can you say that now?"

But he quickly realized Ging was serious.

"Wait, did I just hear you say that?"

Ging's expression shifted back to his usual cynical smirk as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a handful of strange seeds.

They looked a bit like walnuts or melon seeds, with brown shells.

Without hesitation, Ging popped some into his mouth, crunching loudly as he chewed.

"These are delicious, and they go great with tea. Want some?"

Larry glanced at him, a little amused but mostly helpless.

"No thanks, you go ahead."

Ging shrugged and kept eating, turning the office into a little snack corner with tea and crunching sounds.

Just then, Larry's phone rang.

Ging immediately stopped chewing and swallowed quietly, not wanting to interrupt.

Larry glanced at him, then answered.

"Hello? Is everything settled?"

A deep laugh came through the phone.

"Hohoho, yes! Everything on Kakin's side is taken care of. No worries going forward."

It was Biller, sounding relieved and happy.

Since Larry, Beyond, and the others had told him they'd be leaving in about a week, Biller had been in high spirits but also made sure to wrap up all the last-minute issues.

These "legacy issues" mostly had to do with their cooperation with Kakin.

According to their agreement, Beyond was supposed to appear both at the nasubi event and later as the "Son of Netero," delivering a passionate speech about their shared goal of exploring the Dark Continent alongside the nasubi team.

This situation forces the V5 leaders to make a decision, allowing Kakin to join as V6, and in turn, Kakin would have to make some concessions as well.
