Chapter 270 - Genius

Hearing this, Morel and Knov immediately turned their attention to Killua, scrutinizing him from head to toe. Feeling uneasy under their intense gaze, Killua took a small step back.

Just then, President Netero cleared his throat twice, prompting Morel and Knov to look away, as if they had been staring at some rare creature. In fact, members of the Zoldyck family were even more mysterious than rare animals.

Most people had never seen their true faces. It was said that a photo of any Zoldyck family member attacking an enemy could fetch a fortune. On the hunters' website, there was even a long-standing bounty for information about the Zoldycks.

"Is he really from the Zoldyck family? That's quite a background," Morel murmured.

Then he glanced over at the unconscious boy beside Killua. Since the silver-haired kid was Killua, and his origin was impressive, Morel figured the spiky-haired boy must be no less important. He furrowed his brow, feeling like he'd seen that face somewhere before but couldn't quite place it.

"'One of the zodiac member, Ging,'you guys know him, right?" Larry said, looking at the unconscious boy.

Gon's features were almost identical to his father's, except Ging looked a bit messier. If Ging dressed up, many would mistake him for Gon's brother.

Larry's words sparked a memory in Morel. That's right! He had caught a glimpse of Ging at the meeting before.

Though most of his face was hidden by a scarf, half of it was visible, and it looked remarkably similar to this boy. Suddenly, a bold but perfectly reasonable idea crossed Morel's mind.

"Could it be..." Morel stared intently at Gon, swallowing hard as disbelief colored his voice.

"Yes, he's Ging's son!" Larry's words confirmed Morel's suspicions, leaving both of them stunned.

"You mean he's the son of zodiac member?" Knov's sharp eyes widened in disbelief. The answer was truly unexpected.

"He really is Ging's son. Larry was right," President Netero said, his evidence leaving no room for doubt, it had to be true.

"So, one of them is the most talented child of the new generation of the Zoldyck family," Knov continued slowly, "and the other is Ging's child… Ging, known as one of the five greatest Nen users in the world, and ironically called the pig of the zodiac." The more Knov spoke, the more shocked he became.

The origins of these two kids were truly extraordinary. No wonder Mr. Larry had been so certain; few could match such a background.

"Now that we know where they come from, let me ask you something else," Larry said, raising a finger, his tone loaded with meaning. "Do you know how long these two have been learning Nen?"

Morel and the others simultaneously used Gyo to observe the two kids again. Despite a whole night's effort, a thick layer of Nen still surrounded Killua. The same was true for the unconscious Gon beside him.

The aura of Nen was solid and dense, clearly showing that their basic skills were impressive. Judging by this alone, these two had already surpassed many seniors who had been practicing Nen for a long time.

"They're not weak at all," Morel remarked. "Their fundamentals are rock solid. It's clear they've had really professional training."

His keen eyesight allowed him to read much from the way Killua and Gon's Nen manifested. And indeed, they had been taught by Biscuit, a top-tier mentor. Among all the characters who had appeared so far, Biscuit was the best suited to train others in Nen.

Given their age, most of them being around ten years old, it seemed impossible for them to have practiced for too long. Morel carefully analyzed the situation and concluded that they must have trained for at least three to five years to reach their current strength.

Knov, standing nearby, agreed with Morel's assessment. His reasoning made sense, and it was likely the correct answer.

Even Morel, taking into account the backgrounds of the two youngsters, had actually overestimated their talent, yet still arrived at the conclusion of three to five years of training. After all, reaching the level these two children had achieved was no easy feat.

Most Nen users never get that far in their entire lives, and even the better ones usually need at least a decade or more to reach this stage. But despite all this, their guess turned out to be wrong.

"No way, they've only been practicing Nen for a year!" Larry shook his finger, and his words stunned Morel and the others even more.

"How is that even possible? They've reached this level in just one year?!" Knov couldn't stay calm any longer; it felt like his whole worldview was crumbling. When had Nen training become so easy?

"Is this really true?" Morel asked Killua in a deep, incredulous tone.

"Yes," Killua replied, glancing at Gon, who was still lying on the ground. "Gon and I started practicing Nen together, and it's been exactly a year."

The memory of his own training days in the Sky Arena flashed through his mind.

"What terrifying talent... to achieve this in only a year..." Knov's exclamation suddenly trailed off, overwhelmed by emotion.

He wanted to say something but simply couldn't. His strained expression showed just how shaken he was.

Knov had always considered himself a top-tier Nen user. After years of training, he had surpassed most others, proud of his abilities. But seeing these two kids today made him realize what true genius really looked like. Compared to Killua and Gon, his own talent felt fragile and insignificant.

At that moment, Knov's arrogance completely shattered. He had initially acted indifferent to the kids' performance, but now he understood the vast gap in talent. There are always people better than you.

The only comfort Knov could cling to was the hope that his own Nen ability was strong enough to hold his own against them. Morel stayed silent but quietly removed the large pipe resting on his shoulder. He wanted to take a puff to calm his shocked nerves.

As he unwrapped the cloth covering the pipe, a shiny, big smoking pipe appeared in front of everyone. "So it's a pipe?" Killua's eyes lit with surprise; he had expected something like a sledgehammer.

Morel let out a deep breath and slowly exhaled a cloud of white smoke that drifted away on the breeze toward the horizon. Since there was no immediate threat, he didn't use his aura to control the smoke but simply let it float freely.

"So-called... geniuses..." he muttered, his tone calm now that he'd smoked. It was no wonder the two kids, Killua and Gon, had been so intimidating. Their talents were truly frightening.
