Miyagi: "Yes, after a few days we realized you could handle it. That's when the lieutenant commanders agreed that the refugees from Clock Island had to be moved! There were many visitors who were turned away at that time, but only a few people from our Section could stay! Oh, of course, my friend, I had to be one of them! You didn't require active medical intervention, so to speak, but you had to be monitored at all times."
Thinking that Bill needed to be examined, Miyagi jumped up and began massaging his arms and shoulders. Bill knew it was unnecessary, but he did not stop the doctor from doing his job.
"The ones left? Well, it was just me - as I said - and Masterson, who took up residence on the roof," Miyagi said, pointing to the building across from the hospital.
"And three other weird guys," Yoko added in an irritated tone, then said, "Danny, Denny, and Donny."
As if mocking them, she continued, "They say they're helping with the refugees, but I've never seen them do anything other than goof off!"
"'City Ambassadors' - that's what they call themselves now!" Miyagi added, clearly pleased that he had learned something, feeling Bill's arms and shoulders.
Nodding his understanding, Bill was relieved to learn that Rance and Sasha had moved the humans. After selling their loot from the Trump Pirates and buying supplies, they should have about 265 million beli left.
It was a large sum, but with a hundred new members their salary had risen to 1.2 million belli a month, and that money would quickly run out if they had to feed the rest.
After this, the three continued to converse, and Miyagi mentioned that part of the warehouse had been converted into an office for Bill once he recovered.
"A lot has happened in these six weeks! You know, the person you fought was that Revolutionary Dragon! We had direct contact not only with the Science Department, but even with Marineford itself!" Miyagi said.
Before Bill could process this, Yoko exclaimed joyfully:
- And they even gave you a nickname!
"Oh?" Bill asked, waiting for her to say what the nickname was.
"Black Rock Bill Ochs!" she said with a wide smile.
After this, the three continued talking, and Masterson arrived before Bill decided to check himself out of the hospital.
It didn't take long, as Miyagi had already sorted out all the paperwork, and they headed to the warehouse.
Along the way, their quartet attracted many curious glances, and some people even greeted them, but this was nothing compared to the reception that awaited them at the warehouse.
More than five hundred former residents of Clock Island greeted them with gratitude and admiration.
Bill wasn't particularly surprised that the people at the warehouse were happy to see him - after all, he had been working with them for a week. What did surprise him was the general goodwill he received.
After all, he was defeated, and, apparently, the criminal escaped for this very reason.
After talking to people, it was already late when Bill finally got to the office that had been built for him.
Looking around, he saw that the place was fully equipped, and, remembering Miyagi's words, he decided not to waste time and report on his situation.
Sitting down at the table, Bill picked up the large Communications Snail and, thinking about how much time he had spent in the hospital and all the questions that had arisen, began to dial a number.
PurupurupuruThe receiver clicked and a deep, familiar voice rang out:
- This is Commodore Aramakki Ox, introduce yourself.
Taking a deep breath, Bill replied:
- It's me, Bill, Dad. Before I report to Dr. Vegapunk and head to Marineford, I wanted to let you and Mom know that I'm okay.
Then, after a pause, Bill continued before Aramacchi could say anything:
- But I also wanted to ask. Who is this Revolutionary Dragon?
It was late at night when he finally hung up. He had been talking to his father for hours before he contacted the Science Department.
Although he and Sentomaru technically held the same rank, Sentomaru worked directly under Vegapunk and, due to their close bond, was often involved in the Science Division's day-to-day affairs.
Or, more accurately, it was necessary because Dr. Vegapunk rarely left his lab, and someone had to run the organization that operated under his name.
Getting up from the table, Bill, whose eyes had already become accustomed to the dim light of the hanging lanterns, decided to go out and sit outside.
As he walked through the crowded warehouse, Bill made no secret of his presence, but still tried to remain quiet.
Silently waving to the elderly who were heading to the toilet in the middle of the night, the only sound that could be heard was the soft cries of hungry babies waking up.
The group of residents was an odd mix of people, but that didn't bother Bill. In some ways, he felt most comfortable around older people, and who doesn't love babies?
