Chapter 118 - Dark in darkness

The two hobbits ran in their journey, and Frodo always leaded the way trying to make Sam continue and not quit of fear for something new.

In many occasions, Frodo refused to use the ring to escape, but he had to use it few times.

One of those times, somewhere else, through the dark of the ring's domain, the voices called for more, crawled for more, desired more, and so, this determination and desire infused will, called a connection.

In other place, Raziel was about to sleep, and when he finally managed to fall asleep, his soul is put out of his body, and transferred to the void to rest, but in the process, the connection was accidentally accepted, as that same crawl was similar to Raziel's desire to get out, something new, something real.

The determination connected between the darkness of the ring's domain, and the determination holding, and in, Raziel's soul.

Then, the determination moved until approaching Frodo. A Nazgûl was about to stab and slash Frodo, but is interrupted by white flame.

The Nazgûl turned around, and both observed how a big creature. A goat skull with sharp teeth and big horns, a white pair of wings with sharp edges, has no body connecting his gauntlets sharp hands and fade sharp broken legs.

Frodo hesitated, but remained in fear while surprised. The Nazgûl hesitated for a second to observe, but then became black smoke to rush, but the creature swong its left hand and made a lot of white flames appear in front of it from the ground to the sky.

The Nazgûl dodged with ease, but when wasdabout to reach it, the white flames started exploding, and all started to light up in flashes, constantly making the Nazgûl tangible and black smoke. Frodo got blind, and unable to look anywhere.

The creature swong and slashed the Nazgûl, and the Nazgûl instantly ran away. After a short moment, the creature started to be rip apart, piece by piece, dusted away.

When Frodo could finally see again, the creature finished dusting, and only a fade red trail remained. Frodo hesitated, and then looked around. The trail quickly move, and without Frodo noticing, it entered inside the ring, connecting to the ring, and so, to him.

In the dark, some red cracks suddenly appeared in the rings and towards Frodo. Then, out of the ring's domain, Sam was surprised of how the Nazgûl was suddenly escaping in fear.

Sam: "Is it... really running away? Mister Frodo, what happened, are you alrigth?"

Frodo didn't answer, his expression was out, his face half shadowed, his eyes being hidden and his mouth shut as if he was unable to talk.

Frodo then started to slowly walk, continuing his journey, and Sam hesitated for a few seconds in fear before following Frodo.

Sam plead and tried to make Frodo say anything, but no answer. After a big while of their journey, all the encounters they had, Frodo attacked with his sword Sting, killing ald in his way, no matter what it was.

Sam got more and more worried, as he didn't recognize Frodo anymore, and was worried that maybe the ring changed him, but was way too dangerous to get the ring from him.

After a long way, they reached Gandalf the white. Both stopped, Sam and Gandalf were friendly, but Frodo remained careless. For him, was in his way, and so, he started to take slow steps forward.

Gandalf wondered how their journey was so far, and if they got any new information to recruit helpers to fight against Saruman and Sauron. Frodo continued taking more and more steps.

Both stood in front of each other, Gandalf saw since a while Frodo wearing the ring, but remained calm, expecting to know how to get Frodo out of the effects of the ring, but then, everything flashed black and where they were.

In front of Frodo, there was a fade red heart, coming with a fade red trail from the ring. Gandalf hesitated, not expecting what was going on, but then, Frodo didn't lose any second, as the hear moved and an option was chosen, FIGHT.

Frodo quickly dashed, and Gandalf lost track of him, but then in the same instant, Frodo appeared in front of Gandalf, slashed him, and landed some feets away behind Gandalf.

gandalf remained hesitant, in shock of the situation, and how he couldn't predict that, thinking he may have underrated what the ring could have done all this time.

Gandalf then slowly fell down, shaking after slowly falling step by step, until finally falling to the ground. Sam quickly ran towards Gandalf, and tried to aid him, but the slash was a more deeper wound than wasn't on the body.

The slash was there, visually, but the injury wasn't on Gandalf's torso, only broke the clothes. Sam hesitated, trying to find a way to help gandalf, but he was died.

Then, suddenly, a red slash slowly moved in front of Sam. Sam looked, noticing only darkness around him and the red slash, and when the slash moved all the way down, Sam suddenly shaken side by side, hit by an invisible force that pierced deeper than anything Sam could fell or think it could even exist.

After a short moment, Sams alfo fell down died, and all slowly faded back to normal, but with both bodies in the ground. Frodo hesitated for a second, before starting to walk forward carelessly.

After a moment, Raziel's view vanished, but the ring then glowed brightly, refusing to let go. Raziel's view was blurry, a corpse controlling, and only a gray blurry circle visual in the middle, moving without consciousness.

Then, he suddenly woke up, but he was feeling different, feeling how a voice was talking to him in his mind strangely as he couldn't understand the words but identify it as similar to the wind.

He felt his right arm's muscles stronger and more alive, while his legs more defined and more muscular. Then, he noticed a glow from his left, as the sun was bright, something was reflecting the light to his left eye, and then he noticed he was wearing the ring on the index finger of his left hand.

Raziel hesitated, and took a deep breath with his nose, before thinking how his schizophrenia was going crazy on him.

Raziel observed the ring, trying to read what was written on it, but he didn't understand.

He then tried to quit the ring, but when he tried, he felt something piercing and breaking his finger. The ring refused to let go.

Ring: "STOP!"

Raziel then stopped while shocked, surprised and his eyes wide open. The ring whispers yelled in a deep wind tone.

Ring: "We know what you want, I know your deep secrets. I can feel it, see them all... I always crawled over someone who wanted power, until I met the power itself."

Raziel hesitated, not really understanding what the ring was saying on his head, so he remained wondering.

Ring: "Everyone desires power, control... I can feel you are that power, but is somehow with and against you constantly, in control over its own."

"Use me, and I will grant you that control you crawl for, the options, the power... Not all pure and noble prevails in the world, where all is the opposite. You know who you are, and how you are not like that anymore, but there are still you in yoruself."

"Let it go, let yourself wear me, let me grant you the tools. Humans shall see your power, your domain. And so, what do you say? Will you accept me?"

Raziel hesitated, thinking and remembering, his expression saddening. After few seconds he slowly closed his eyes and took another deep breath, while now placing his right hand over his right chest.

Ring: "I see now... It was never you... But the soul... You are fascinating, something I cannot call human, something I crawl. Be the light of the shadow, a shadow bigger than darkness itself."

Raziel continued hesitating, his already silent behavior now truly silent today, as the ring continued talking to him as the day continued.

Ring: "Let me in, let me see and feel."

"A vessel, an empty husk... I can fulfill you."

"You know what you are, I do now too. Let me give you what you need to get the change you crawl."

"Nothing of this is real, no matter how it seems to be. But if you accept me, I will make it real, and yours."

After hours and hours of the ring eating him mentally with his own mind, thoughts, memories, experiences, and more, Raziel sighed and accepted.
