Chapter 10 - Tsubakihara Family

Eishi stood by the window of his third-story manor, his new Divine Physique buzzing with a calm, predatory energy. His gaze drifted past the iron gates of the Tsukasa estate to the neighboring property: the Tsubakihara household.

He knew that name. From the depths of his memories of another world—a world of "Masterpiece" tropes—the Tsubakiharas were a household destined for a specific brand of domestic chaos.

With his Intelligence and newly awakened divine sight he scanned the neighboring windows with clinical detachment.

The house was quiet, bathed in the soft glow of evening lamps. Eishi's eyes tracked the movement with in the house.

* Mira Tsubakihara: The mother was in the kitchen, her seductive silhouette moving with a grace that was entirely composed. She was humming a soft tune, her expression one of maternal calm rather than post-coital satisfaction.

* The Twins: In the living room, Yuna was tucked away in a corner with a book, her shy demeanor perfectly intact. Nina was on the floor, energetically cleaning her athletic gear, her glasses pushed firmly up the bridge of her nose.

One person was missing: Yuuji.

Eishi's gaze shifted, searching for the adopted son who was supposed to be the catalyst for this family's transformation. He checked the hallway, the dining area, even the glimpses of the upstairs landing. Nothing.

The atmosphere was... mundane. There was no heavy air of secrecy, no flushed faces, no lingering glances of forbidden desire. The Tsubakiharas looked like a perfectly normal, albeit exceptionally attractive, suburban family.

Eishi pulled the curtains shut, the silver light of the moon catching the sharp, lean lines of his new physique. A single, calculating thought surfaced in his mind, sparking a rare moment of curiosity.

> "Mira is composed. The twins are at peace. Not a single symptom of the 'Masterpiece' corruption," Eishi mused. "If the air is this clean, then Yuuji hasn't made his move. Or perhaps..."

> He leaned against the window frame, his Intelligence processing the timeline.

"Has the plot still not started?"

It was a tactical variable. If the "Masterpiece" events hadn't been triggered yet, it meant the neighboring house was a dormant volcano. For now, they were just neighbors, blissfully unaware of the tropes meant to consume them.

Eishi turned back to his kitchen. While the "plot" next door remained in stasis, his own narrative was moving at a breakneck pace. He didn't need the messy, pheromone-heavy chaos of a domestic drama.

His satisfaction came from the perfect edge of a blade and the absolute submission of an ingredient.

"Let them enjoy their innocence for now," Eishi whispered, his Charisma oozing a in the silent kitchen. "I have a world to dismantle. Whether Yuuji wakes up to his 'destiny' or not is irrelevant to the White Knight."

The morning sun hadn't quite cleared the horizon when Eishi finished his final set of knife drills. His new Divine Physique didn't even sweat; he felt energized, his muscles humming with the effortless power of a coiled spring.

He looked at the box on the counter—a minimalist, elegant cake he'd prepared using the finest flour and seasonal fruits, a peace offering for a bridge he hadn't crossed in nine years.

Before the accident, before the blood, there had been four of them playing in the dirt of these adjacent gardens: Eishi, Yuuji, Yuna, and Nina.

The same tragedy that took his mother, Kanae, had claimed Yuuji's biological parents. They were bound by the same scar.

Eishi walked the short distance to the neighboring gate. He didn't need to ring the bell; Mira Tsubakihara was already at the door, as if sensing the shift in the air.

When she saw him—not the scrawny, grieving boy from nine years ago, but the silver-haired youth with eyes like polished steel—she gasped, her hand flying to her lips.

"Eishi? Is that... is that really you?"

"It's been a long time, Mira-san," Eishi said, his Charisma making the simple greeting feel like a warm embrace. He handed her the cake. "I thought a reunion deserved something sweet."

Mira's eyes welled with genuine joy. "You've grown into such a handsome man! Come in, please! Yuna! Nina! Look who's home!"

The twins appeared at the top of the stairs. Yuna, the shy elder, gripped the railing, her face flushing as she locked eyes with the transformed Eishi. Nina, the bold younger twin, adjusted her glasses, her mouth hanging slightly open as she took in his new, powerful frame.

"Eishi-kun?" Yuna whispered.

"Whoa," Nina breathed. "You look... different. Like, 'main character' different."

As he greeted them, the System chimed twice more in quick succession.

They sat in the sun-drenched living room, the air filled with the scent of Eishi's cake. The atmosphere was light, filled with the "what-ifs" of a decade.

"I'll be staying in Chiba for the time being," Eishi explained, his voice resonant. "I've already processed my transfer. I'll be attending Sobu High starting next week."

Yuna and Nina both jumped. "Sobu?!" Nina exclaimed, a grin breaking across her face.

"That's where we go! We're in our second year!"

"We can... we can show you around, Eishi-kun,"

Yuna added softly, her fingers nervously twisting a strand of her hair.

Eishi nodded, but his Intelligence noted the one shadow in the room. He looked at the empty chair at the table.

"And Yuuji?" Eishi asked, his tone gentle. "I assumed he'd be sleeping in. Is he still as much of a glutton for sweets as he used to be?"

The room went instantly, chillingly silent.

Mira's smile didn't just fade; it shattered. She looked down at her lap, her knuckles turning white. Yuna's eyes filled with tears, and even the energetic Nina went deathly still, staring at the floor. The gloom was so thick it felt like the "Masterpiece" plot had been strangled in its crib.

"Eishi..." Mira's voice was a ragged whisper.

"Yuuji... he didn't make it as far as you did."

They led him through the sliding glass doors to the backyard. The garden was beautifully maintained, but in the far corner, under the shade of a weeping willow that had grown massive in his absence, sat a simple, clean tombstone.

†Yuuji Tsubakihara, Beloved Son and Brother†

Eishi stood before the grave. His Eyes saw the lack of life beneath the soil. There was no "Masterpiece" plot because the protagonist was gone.

The boy who was supposed to "quench the thirst" of the three women behind him had been taken by the same darkness that claimed Eishi's mother.

Eishi felt the 20% loyalty boost from his Harem Protagonist EX trait flare up. The three women weren't looking at the grave; they were looking at him—the only boy left from their shared childhood, now standing before them with the strength of a god and the shadow of an Asura.

"I see," Eishi murmured, his voice cold as the stone. "Then it seems I'm the only one left to carry the weight of both our families."
