Chapter 270 - HP: The Stellar Witch [OFC]-Chapter 269

Sitting in the office with the forms she needed to fill out, Lys froze. She stared at those sheets of parchment and asked: "Do I really have to fill out everything?"

A wizard replied casually: "Yes, everything. Since this involves long-term residence, the German side needs to register some of this information as well."

A witch who'd just entered noticed Lys hesitating with her quill. She glanced carefully at the name and details Lys had filled in, realized she was one of those being sent to Germany for the cooperation project, and quickly called her colleague outside.

"That one—" she pointed toward Lys in the room, then subtly tapped her own left forearm, "—probably is too. Rare to see one so polite. Just let her fill in what she can and be done with it."

Her colleague's eyes widened as he looked toward the person inside. Lys was currently staring blankly at an apple on the desk, appearing somewhat dull and vacant.

He replied: "Impossible. The team leader's briefing mentioned that one of her relatives is a werewolf. That Lord would never recruit someone like... er... you know what I mean."

The witch clicked her tongue: "Think about it—this whole thing isn't just cooperation between the Ministry and the pure-blood families anymore, is it? Those families all have to follow orders from that Lord-Whose-Name-Must-Not-Be-Mentioned. Even if she isn't one herself, how could she not be connected to that organization?!"

She gave her colleague an exasperated look: "Just let her fill it in and be done with it. Don't provoke those people. The German side has already been briefed—they won't scrutinize it closely."

Though the wizard was somewhat skeptical, he knew his colleague's capabilities. After all, if she weren't a half-blood without connections, who knew who'd be deputy director now.

Returning to the room, he added to Lys: "As long as the general information is complete, that's fine. We'll supplement the rest."

But Lys continued staring vacantly at that apple. She figured if she didn't fill in this information, these staff members probably wouldn't know it either.

Half a minute later, she asked Noah, who was sitting beside her reading the newspaper: "Dad, when's my birthday?"

Noah was reading the classified ads—ever since helping Lys manage accounts, he'd developed the habit of constantly monitoring market conditions. He hadn't heard Lys's question clearly and looked up from his paper in confusion.

Lys pointed at the form and asked again: "My date of birth. I need to fill in the year and date here."

Noah blinked. "August 30th, 1960."

As Lys wrote it down, she mentally chewed over the date: August 30th...

Noah was also someone who needed to travel abroad, but his situation was special, so all his forms had been pre-filled by the staff.

When the staff member asked about Senna's information—since she'd also be traveling abroad—Noah explained that his wife couldn't come out and asked if he could fill out the forms on her behalf. The witch stopped her overly conscientious colleague, took Noah to the Marriage Department for verification, then allowed Noah to fill out Senna's forms.

However, after returning and handing the forms to Noah, her smile became strained, and she left the office claiming she had external business to attend to.

Lys was still slowly working through her forms line by line. There was so much she didn't know that her normally sharp, elegant handwriting had become considerably more square and blocky due to hesitation.

By the time Noah returned from the Marriage Department and began filling out his second form, Lys was still battling her first.

Lys decided that besides History of Magic, she now had something else she disliked even more: filling out forms.

"Dad, what's Mother's official nationality? For Mrs. Last's surname, should I write Black, or...?"

Noah glanced at the form and sighed. Mrs. Last and the former head of the Black family had never had an officially recognized relationship in the wizarding world, so the surname couldn't be changed to Black.

But thinking about it this way, even his own Black surname didn't seem entirely proper.

Noah considered for a moment, then simply took the quill from Lys's hand and began filling out the information swiftly. This was all about Noah and Senna's family background—the couple rarely discussed these matters, and when they did, it was usually in the bedroom. It was natural that Little Star wouldn't know.

Lys used a magic crystal to leave her magical signature. In the end, the staff didn't even check before stiffly but politely indicating that Lys was finished—the rest would await German review and arrangements.

After they left, the staff member who'd seen Noah filling out the forms used magic to make the sofa Noah had just occupied and the newspaper he'd been reading vanish completely.

No wonder his colleague had fled after returning from another department without saying a word! Even if the team leader scolded him, he was reporting this to maintenance!

He could hardly believe it—he'd just shared a room with a werewolf! A werewolf!
