Chapter 255 - CHAPTER 255

Uchiha Madara Revives

In a dimly lit underground chamber, the air was thick with an eerie silence.

With a conflicted expression, Uchiha Obito lifted the lid of a coffin. Inside lay the carefully preserved body of Uchiha Madara, his appearance unnervingly peaceful, as if merely asleep rather than deceased.

From an emotional standpoint, Obito did not want to revive Madara. A part of him wished the legendary Uchiha would remain in eternal slumber.

The reason was simple—if Uchiha Madara could manipulate the course of history once, there was no reason he couldn't do it again. After all, he had orchestrated Obito's downfall, manipulated him into awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, and orchestrated events that led to the Third Mizukage's control through genjutsu—just as he had done with the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura.

In truth, Madara had influenced even the most tragic event of Obito's life: Rin's death.

Yet, what truly filled Obito with despair wasn't just Madara, the grand manipulator, but rather the world itself—a place consumed by war, betrayal, and endless suffering.

Suppressing his emotions, Obito turned to the shadowy figure beside him—Black Zetsu. Extending his hand, he spoke coldly:

"Give me the Edo Tensei scroll. I'll resurrect Uchiha Madara now."

Black Zetsu's yellow eyes gleamed with an unreadable expression. After a moment, he silently handed over the Impure World Reincarnation technique.

Obito glanced at the scroll before forming a series of intricate hand seals. With a final slam of his palm onto the ground, glowing kanji spread across the floor in a complex summoning array.

White Zetsu's body morphed, its flesh peeling into fragments of chakra-infused paper, which swirled toward Madara's corpse.

A tense silence followed.

Then, after years of deathly stillness, Uchiha Madara opened his eyes.

The first thing his piercing gaze landed on was Black Zetsu and Obito. Without hesitation, he spoke in his deep, commanding voice:

"Black Zetsu, Obito… How far has the Eye of the Moon Plan progressed?"

Obito remained silent.

Madara frowned. Only then did he notice something was wrong. He flexed his fingers and examined his hands. His body didn't feel alive—it was cold, dull, and incomplete. His expression darkened.

"This is Edo Tensei, isn't it?" Madara's voice was calm, but there was a dangerous edge to it. "Why? You were supposed to have Nagato use the Rinne Rebirth to bring me back properly."

Black Zetsu lowered his head slightly. "The plan changed. We had no choice but to revive you this way, for now."

Madara dusted off his battle-worn armor and rose to his feet, his movements smooth despite the limitations of an undead body. He let out a quiet, dismissive chuckle.

"Oh? Let me guess. You couldn't even control little Nagato? How disappointing."

Obito's expression shifted, but he quickly regained his composure.

"Madara, Nagato's strength has long surpassed that of the current Five Kage," Obito explained. "By creating the Six Paths of Pain, he has mastered nearly all the abilities of the Rinnegan."

"And it's not just Nagato," he continued. "We've encountered other powerful opponents—ones we didn't anticipate."

Madara's interest piqued. He turned slightly, his red Sharingan eyes glowing. "More enemies? Tell me."

Obito's lips curled into a smirk, though his tone remained cold.

"A shinobi named Uzumaki Naruto… He has fully tamed the Nine-Tails and is immune to most genjutsu."

Madara's eyes gleamed with amusement. "A perfect Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails? Heh. That's a rare breed."

His excitement grew, but as he analyzed his new Edo Tensei body, he frowned slightly. Even though his power was formidable, this was only a reincarnated shell. It would only allow him to use about 80% of his full strength. Against a perfect Jinchūriki, he might need more.

After a moment of contemplation, he turned back to Black Zetsu.

"Forget about the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki for now," Madara said. "First, tell me about the major events that have happened in the world while I was gone."

Black Zetsu nodded and began recounting everything: the Nine-Tails attack on Konoha, the fall of the Uchiha clan, Orochimaru's experiments, the rise of the Akatsuki, and the Chūnin Exams in the Leaf Village.

When the topic of the Nine-Tails attack arose, Madara's gaze flickered toward Obito, his expression unreadable.

"So… You attacked Konoha in my absence," Madara mused. "You even ensured the deaths of the Fourth Hokage and his wife, the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki."

He chuckled. "Seems my lessons weren't wasted on you."

As Black Zetsu continued, he spoke of how Itachi Uchiha had manipulated Sasuke into awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan, an eerie parallel to how Madara had once forced Izuna to unlock his own.

Madara's gaze lingered on Obito. Something about the way Obito had maneuvered the events of the past few years made Madara cautious. He knew that Obito was no mere pawn—he had ambitions of his own.

But for now, that didn't matter.

Eventually, the conversation turned to strategy.

"What's our next step?" Madara asked.

Obito met his gaze. By now, it was clear Madara had noticed the Edo Tensei binding seals Obito had placed on him—an attempt at control. Yet, despite that, Madara wasn't acting hostile.

Obito smirked inwardly. So what if I put a seal on you? In the end, I still hold the real power.

He folded his arms and stated, "Before we initiate the Eye of the Moon Plan, we need to eliminate the traitors within the organization. Nagato must die first. Afterward, we'll focus on capturing the remaining Tailed Beasts, and finally, we'll deal with Naruto Uzumaki."

Obito's approach was methodical—handling the easier threats first before confronting the most difficult opponent. Unlike Nagato, Naruto had Kakashi by his side, making him even harder to take down. Strengthening their own forces first was the best option.

Madara nodded slightly. This plan suited him well. Although his Edo Tensei body granted him near-immortality, it wasn't the true power he sought. What he needed was the real Rinnegan—the one Nagato possessed.

Only with that could he summon the Ten-Tails, awaken the Divine Tree, and activate the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

With that thought, Madara turned toward Black Zetsu, exchanging a knowing glance.

The game had begun.
