Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: House Selection (Part-1)

"Oh! Something's pulling me that way!" Yellow chirped, pointing toward the glowing blue door.

"Yellow choosing blue?" Orin chuckled under his breath, amused. "Guess that's Mystic, huh?"

Around them, students were rising from their seats, some hesitantly, others with excitement, each drifting toward one of the four glowing doors. As they neared, the doors slid open automatically, welcoming them into their chosen House.

"Are you coming, Orin?" Yellow asked as she bounced up to her feet.

"You go ahead," he said with a soft smile. "I think I need a moment."

"What about you, Janine?" she asked cheerfully, turning to the girl on Orin's other side.

"I have already decided. Since there is no pink, I will choose black," Janine said, rising smoothly to her feet.

Orin stared at her, speechless.

"Alright then," Yellow said brightly, giving them a cheerful wave before skipping toward the Mystic door.

Janine lingered for a second longer, her sharp eyes studying Orin.

"Tell me, Orin… do you also dabble in poison arts?" she asked quietly, leaning in just a little too close for comfort.

"Umm… no?" Orin blinked, caught off-guard.

"Hmm. But Father says everyone who practices poison arts eventually has purple or violet hair," she muttered to herself, clearly deep in thought.

"That… can't be a real thing," Orin said with a wry smile, though a tiny doubt crept into his mind. Could psychic energy be the reason our family all has purple hair?

"I'll ask Father again and get back to you," Janine said seriously, nodding as if filing it away as official research. Without another word, she turned and strode off toward the black-glowing door of her chosen house.

Orin stared after her, then shook his head with a chuckle. "Hair color theory, huh? Yeah… I'll table that one for now."

"Though rare," Professor Oak announced, addressing the hall once more, "some students may grow and transition into another House over the years. Growth takes many shapes, after all."

"Could you maybe… not talk for a second?" Orin muttered under his breath as he closed his eyes, trying to feel something—anything.

A sign, a tug, an instinct.

But there was… nothing.

No warmth. No pull. No spark.

'Huh… weird,' he thought. 'What am I doing wrong?'

"You will notice your Pokédex has already logged your House selection," Professor Oak added helpfully. "Some students stand between doors. Others feel no pull at all. That's all perfectly normal. The Nexus Crystal does not command—it only guides."

Orin sighed and opened his eyes. The massive auditorium was quickly emptying as students poured into their chosen paths.

He glanced up at the crystal again, still gently pulsing with rainbow light. "That old singing hat was better than this junk," he muttered, mentally cursing the crystal for discriminating against "an honest-to-goodness reincarnator," then exhaled and stood up.

"Looks like I will have to decide this one on my own."

Now that Orin had some time to think, he tried to recall the Houses of the people he had noticed or heard about.

The magician girl, Trixie—the one he saw online doing flashy card tricks with her Psychic Pokémon—was in House Mystic. She was cute. And Yellow was headed there too, so that was tempting.

He wasn't sure about Lilian, the girl he met earlier. Was she even attending Nexus? He didn't know.

The chaotic duo, Jessie and James, were apparently going to House Eclipse—of course they were.

And even Janine was going there. Which did make it the most tempting house.

And that redhead hottie, Zoey? She had told him that she was from House Valor.

Then there was Cynthia—the woman who had shown up on TV during the Nexus Cup. Watching her was part of what made him decide about coming here in the first place. He remembered her wearing both black and yellow during the finals… House Eclipse or House Lumina, maybe?

He let out a small breath, smirking. "Which House did Big Sis Sabrina chose back then, I wonder?"

Eclipse. Yeah… it fit her too well.

This was all the info he had. Now, it was time to make a choice.

***

The above was all the information Orin has gathered up until now.

Obviously the new info or the lack thereof all depends upon Orin's choices until now.

As a Story, what the House will determine most will be the Dorms Orin is staying at.

So Orin is more likely to meet and interact with members of that house.

I can tell you the readers that I have a whole list of Canon Pokemon Characters and all of them who are attending the Academy right now are sorted in one of those houses. The list is still updating I haven't finished it fully yet!

And yes it is totally my opinion that this xyz character would have chosen this house etc.

If it doesn't make sense you can tell me sure, but in the end just chalk it up to AU!

There is another thing which will impact through the Houses.

That is the Mentor that Orin will get.

The Mentor will be a female senior of Orin's from his House.

Obviously House Cup and Points also will be determined by the House Orin's choose.

But let me just say there are many powerful seniors in each houses in varying years so overall it should be fine.

Also as this is the Ultimate Pokemon Harem Story that I will be writing, Orin will definitely get all the girls… eventually.

The Chosen House will just help you decide which ones Orin can acquire early.

Now please choose the House you the reader wants Orin to be in!

The poll is open for all on my Patreon and will be running for a few more days.

After it ends I will edit this chapter fully!

All the Best! 👍🏻
