"Where am I?" I heard a hoarse voice, turning around I looked at the girl I love more than life.
I walked up to her and took her hand.
"It's okay honey, you were unconscious for a few hours…" I said trying not to cry.
"But… How… I remember the shot, and then only the cold…" she said, making me bite my lips.
She looked at her hands for a few more seconds, but then raised her head and looked into my eyes.
"How did I stay alive?" she asked.
"It's all because of the chip, it saved you." I answered.
"I understand, but I feel there's a big "BUT"?" she asked.
I lowered my head.
"Yes… He saved you, but not without consequences… You were technically dead… So the chip saw you as an empty shell and started to restore you, but it couldn't know that you were not an empty shell, so it kills your neural connections, replacing them with others." I said, to which she fell silent.
"I see…" she said.
"Can this be fixed?" V asked.
I didn't answer right away, trying to figure out how to tell her correctly.
"No need, I already understood from your look." she said, gently stroking my cheek, which made my eyes sting.
"V, I promise that you will live, and we will live a wonderful life together and raise our child." I said, while tears were pouring from my eyes.
I saw how her eyes widened and she looked at my stomach.
"You…" she didn't finish, I just nodded and she immediately put her hand on my stomach, as if there was the greatest treasure in the world there.
I could only smile at her actions.
"V… Do you believe… Do you believe that we will find a way to save you?" I asked, to which she smiled taking one of my tails in her hands, starting to stroke it.
"I believe…" she answered and continued to stroke my tails lovingly.
"How is Jackie? He's not…" she didn't have time to finish, as another voice interrupted her.
"He's okay, exhausted but okay," Misty said, rolling a wheelchair towards us.
"I'm glad. Hi Misty." V said.
"Hi V, Tama. And congratulations to you," Misty said.
"Thank you…" I answered.
"Look, our patient has come to." Victor said, entering the basement.
"Hello Vic." V said
"Hello V, I see you're not looking so good." He said.
"Yeah, we bit off more than we could handle this time." She said.
"I see…"
"There's something else." V said, and we all stared at her.
She sighed, and began to speak.
"When I thought I was dead… I saw… Another life… I was performing at a concert as some cheap rocker, and then I went to plant a bomb near Arasaka, and then some jerk grabbed me, and that's where that life or vision ended." V said, and Vic frowned.
"V, what you told me… These events happened more than fifty years ago. Which were arranged by the terrorist Johnny Silverhand." - said Vic.
"Johnny Silverhand? That unknown rocker?" - asked V.
"Well, I wouldn't say he was unknown, it's just that there are few left who were considered his fans." - said Vic.
"But why, I saw his life… memories?" - asked V
"Maybe it's the chip, it's most likely somehow connected to Johnny." - he said.
V, just sighed and looked at me.
"Tama, can you help me get up, honey?" - to which I immediately helped her, holding her, we reached the gurney, and I helped V sit up.
"Here you go. These Omega blocker pills, take them if you hear a voice, some rocker. "And take these if you want to release your inner demons," Misty said, sitting down next to V and handing her two jars, one blue, one orange.
"Thank you, Misty," V said, taking the pills.
Misty smiled and nodded.
"Tama, you can come here to watch the baby's development. It's not my specialty, but I'm still a "doctor,"" Vic said, to which I smiled.
"Of course. Thank you Vic." I said.
"Anyway, we're going today, a lot happened and V needs to rest." I said, and I felt her pinch me lightly.
"I'll see you around, Tama, V." Vic said.
"Let me walk you out." Misty said, and the three of us headed to the alley where I'd parked my car.
I immediately opened the door and picked V up, which made her pout but she didn't object.
I'm sorry Vi, I know you want to be the strong one in our relationship, but you're not in that position right now.
After sitting her down, I handed the gurney to Misty.
"Good luck Tama, V." she said.
"And to you too. "I hope everything will be okay with Jackie," I said, to which she nodded.
Getting into the car, I started it and headed towards the exit of the alley, which was blocked by the man who chased me while I was driving V
"Damn." V cursed
"You know him?" I asked.
She just sighed.
"He was Saburo's bodyguard, before his own son strangled him." she said.
"He knows that Saburo was killed by his son." I asked.
"I don't think so, well at least he suspects it..."
"And of course you're the only one who can know the truth." I asked.
She just nodded at me.
I sighed and continued to look at the Japanese man who was heading our way. I didn't take out my weapon, since he didn't attack us, but I could have taken out my pistol, which was hidden under the steering wheel, at any moment.
Coming up to us, I opened the window.
"We need to talk," he said.
"Listen, let's not do it now," I said, since now was not the time.
"Tomorrow! I'll send the coordinates!" he said and disappeared.
"How will he send the coordinates?" I asked out loud and the next second I received a notification with the contact added.
"Have you got his contact too?" V asked.
"Yeah... In any case, let's leave it for tomorrow, and now let's finally go home," I said and continued driving.
