"Averell!"
On the spur of the moment, I hear a familiar voice yelling at me in a harsh tone from behind. When Finn and I turn to the direction of the source of the voice, we see a group of boys approaching us from the other side of the street.
In reflex Finn grabs my arm and pulls me with him as he takes a step backward. In an anxious tone he asks, "Aletris, who are they? They don't look very friendly…"
Along with an alarmed glare fixed on the six of them, I claim, "Of course they don't…" because they are truly not. In fact, they are the most unbearable bullies in the campus——The chancellor's son, Damon Jackson, and his sidekicks——Kiren Kramer, Ronnie Grant, Wade Doyle, Ben Reeves, and Glenn Wagner.
As I last remember, the six of them were kidnapped in the attic for weeks in the same chateau where I was almost murdered——We fell victim to the same serial killer, the biggest in town.
