Anastasia was deeply focused, flipping through page after page of neglected reports. Her brows tightened as she underlined yet another error in one of the old files. She sighed.
"This can't go on," she murmured under her breath. "There's no way the company can grow with so many blind spots."
Suddenly, her phone buzzed and It was a message from Alfonso Martinez.
"Please, meet me in the board room." She read it aloud quietly, her brows arching in curiosity.
"What exactly does he want to talk about now?" she asked herself. Her eyes glanced once more at the open files. She closed them gently, stood up, and picked her phone.
Her heels clicked lightly against the floor as she made her way to the boardroom.
As soon as she stepped in, her steps faltered.
Alfonso Martinez was seated at the head of the table. And sitting across from him, Mr. David.
Anastasia walked forward calmly, even though her heart beat faster.
