Fernando was surrounded by several men in a dimly lit room. His eyes were covered with a thick black blindfold, his breathing heavy, uneven, almost frantic.
Every tiny sound echoed in his head, and his nerves felt like they were about to snap.
Then, he heard the sound, footsteps. Slow, deliberate, authoritative. Someone important was coming. And every step brought fear closer.
"Uncover his eyes," a cold, commanding voice said.
The blindfold was ripped off his face. As his eyes adjusted to the light, Fernando saw a man seated in front of him.
Mason Harrington.
His heart dropped.
'Oh no... this is Nicholas's brother. If he knows anything, I'm dead.'
Mason looked at him with the kind of calm that made Fernando even more afraid.
"Hello, Fernando," Mason began, his voice smooth and laced with subtle threat. "I hope my men have been treating you... reasonably well."
