"Good morning, sir," George greeted Mason, bowing his head slightly with respect.
Mason turned his gaze to him, calm and composed as always. "Good morning, George… What are you doing here?"
George straightened up. "My little sister's surgery is today, sir. It's in about two hours. I just brought her out for a short walk."
"Oh, I see. That's good. Where is she now?" Mason asked with a small smile.
George turned quickly. "She's just by the bench over there, please give me a moment."
He jogged back and returned moments later, holding the hand of a petite girl with bright eyes and a shy smile.
"Bethany, this is the boss I told you about. He paid for your surgery," George said proudly, bending one knee to speak to her softly.
Anastasia stood nearby, watching the interaction with quiet emotion.
'Why is Mason so calm?' she wondered. 'Doesn't he realize how this looks, me standing next to him while a colleague sees us together? What if people start talking?'
