Immediately the ambulance arrived at the Harrington Hospital, Anastasia was rushed into the emergency ward. Mason, visibly shaken, was asked to stay back outside.
He stood there, frozen for a second, then began pacing the hallway like a storm held in a cage.
"What's happening to you, Anastasia?" he whispered, his voice strained.
His mind spun with questions. 'She looked so fine... smiling just towards me. What did I miss? Was it something I didn't pay attention to concerning her?' he wondered.
He clenched his fists, dragging a hand through his hair. "Does she still feel pain from the attack? Is she hiding something from me?" he muttered, pacing faster, every step echoing his frustration.
"I just hope whatever is wrong with her, is not too serious... I can't stand seeing her in pain." Mason said to himself, with concern edged in his eyes.
Back at Harrington Cooperation, Sandra and George were walking to the cafeteria, the heavy mood still hanging around them.
