These guards were very well trained, no doubt. They were prepared for both direct assaults and for holding a siege. Being appointed on guard duty of a dangerous frontier town, they had been hardened by their duties as well as regular drills.
In addition, they could gather a militia force of 2,000 to 2,500 more fighters. These militia members were chosen from the ordinary citizens and had been given regular training as well by the guards.
But despite the number on their side, Aedric was visibly worried. His brow furrowed as he wrestled with what they should do. To him, the numbers still felt grim.
