Elisa watched as the two of them dissolved in laughter again, rolling on the bed. Her heart skipped, then dropped.
So that was why Cassandra and her father had burst into the office that day. She thought as everything suddenly started to become hazy and a buzzing started in her ears.
Raven noticed that she wasn't laughing with them and quickly patted Mira, gesturing to her to stop laughing and pay attention to Elisa's mood.
Mira's laughter died out, and she moved closer to her. "Elisa… are you ok? You're looking a little gray there."
"I told you it was a ridiculous rumor. Don't take it seriously."
Mira nodded. "Yeah, exactly. Cassandra and my brother used to have a thing, but it was very casual. They have been friends since childhood; that's wh..."
"It's okay," Elisa cut her off softly. "You don't have to explain. Whatever he's doing or with is none of my business. I have no rights or claim over him."
